I'm not aware of any standards at public places

And to add to your point about Mexicans, all their dirty business is NOT only under their fingernails. Have you not heard of the gangs they have all over this country...something 13 or another they call themselves. They are viscious, ruthless people, and are going into areas where they think the local law officials won't be on to them. They try to intimidate and scare communities into silence so they can get their garbage drug trade and smuggling stuff going in silence. Our prisons are so full of illegals, they can't hold the legals, but of course, lets not gather them up and deport them back to their wonderful country...lets house and feed them, give their kids a free education better than they're getting there, free healthcare, the list goes on and on. Now, our president wants to make sure they can get SS benefits....for WHAT? In our community, you can go into Wal-Mart late in the evening and our stores are full of young Mexicans, mother, father, and always a baby, maybe 2 or 3, but where do you suppose they were born? The parents can't or won't speak English (since they want to be a loyal US citizen). My daughter teaches a school where the kids abound and their parents are most likely illegal, but until we stop this practice of giving citizenship to an illegal born in this country, this will never change. I'm with Ron Paul on this one....we can't keep a sovereign nation when we allow an invasion of our country. We can't absorb these people into our communities without major negative consequences.

I love animals; however, I have a life-threatening allergy to dander. Keep your animals home, love them, and enjoy them in YOUR space.

he was an adult, by our standards, and would have been--sm
accountable for his own actions if he had been arrested and sent to trial. However, if there was familial abuse involved which perpetuated this act of violence, it should be addressed in some manner, but not for the parents to be held accountable for what he did as a result of it. Sometimes even knowing about a person's difficulties is not enough to change them or prevent them from doing something horrible like this. Obviously there were a lot of people, in retrospect, who felt this person had severe problems and they chose to do nothing about it either. He was seeing a therapist, but should the therapist be held accountable, as well? It just comes down to every one being accountable for their own actions.
Higher standards?
Politicians can and do lie, take bribes, get involved in all kinds of pork barrel projects, sell out to lobbyists, create jobs for their relatives, spend like there's no tomorrow, etc., etc.  But heaven forbid they have sex!  Why, having sex means they've lost their integrity!
The stuff is costly by SoFla standards too, Apple.

Smart Alarmclocks, like me, that the smart clocks are not smart enough to know that the govt had to make yet another d*u*m*b move and change things (and the reason is???)and will not change to daylight savings time on the new date. now these Smart Alarmclocks will change to daylight savings time on the ORIGINAL date and change back on the ORIGINAL date, so we paid extra for something that is totally useless now....I want my money back or change the time back! which I thought was a useless idea in the first place!

After my tubal, OMG...my periods were horrible.  Never had a problem before the tubal, but after...I got severely iron deficient, absolutely no ferritin whatsoever, and had to have IV iron therapy to get back on track, not a fun experience.  Just be aware that this can happen, maybe speak to your doctor about it before you decide to go ahead with the tubal.  Good luck with whatever you choose!

what the temporary denture looks like in hand is nothing like what it looks like in your mouth. You just cannot tell by looking at it how it is going to look on you, or how it will feel. good luck. I hope you are more happy with your outcome than I was/am. :^)
I am very aware
of what you're saying, but at this point, I'll do anything to get my daughter away from this loser. My son did not actually see the records per se, but he is privy to information regarding inmates at the jail. And no, I do not expect my daughter to not have sex again, but if I can help it, it WILL NOT be with this joker. Why am I being made out to be the bad guy here? I'm protecting MY child...she's still a child, only 17, and still living under our roof, with us supporting her. So yes ma'am, I have every right to do whatever it takes to protect her from her own bad judgement.
I'm aware of that
As I noted in the previous post, I did say that the love I felt was for the man he isn't now. There also is a degree of romantic idealism at work here. Hard though it may be to believe, when I was a little slip of a lass, when I dreamed of my future spouse, it was of a dark-haired blue-eyed cowboy, living in the middle of nowhere, with a bunch of horses, and in R, I found that. The first time I laid eyes on him, my heart stopped, and even after being together about 2 years, even after all that had happened, that was still the case.

However, him serving time in jail at this point will, in essence, save me from myself. When his drinking would escalate to where I couldn't cope at all, I have run home and stayed there, shed my tears, etc. He would always contact me, begging me to "come home", saying he understood things needed to change, etc. I'm thinking that after I've sent him to jail, he's not going to be asking me back, and in a year, no matter how much I love him, I will have moved on in my life. To steal a cliche, I'm not one of those people where absence makes the heart grow fonder. I'm not exactly out of site, out of mind, but to maintain the psychological hold that he has, whether it's love or whatever, requires more ongoing attention that he is going to be able to provide from a prison 600 miles away without phone calls (I don't have a landline he can make a collect call to) or even email (I don't think they get those in prison, do they?).
Well aware, still a shock
when you see it laid out in black and white, and it becomes a reality.
I'm well aware of the statistics but

that's all they are.  You cannot make factual claims based on statistics.  I personally know of people with both pancreatic and ovarian cancer.  While the survival rates are grim, there are survivors.  Furthermore, the claim stated that he had 5 weeks to live.  Since when does a doctor stick an expiration tag on someone like that? I've worked for several oncologists and not one patient was ever given an expiration date as exact as that.

Treatments do work and can shrink the size of someone's cancer, thereby increasing their survival rate and prolonging their life.  Your chance of survival is also based on many factors:  lifestyle, hereditary factors, early detection, methods of prevention, etc.  While many may eventually succumb to the disease, still some do survive.  I would never spread spread rumors with my source being a gossip column.  What does the name tell you?

I'm well aware of such business ventures.
It is one thing to have legal international business ventures and quite another for our financial institutions to be actively pursuing illegal aliens in this country and offering them financial sanctuary.

Go douse yourself with some of that flea repellent, lol.

I was not aware this was a test question. SM
I answered honestly. I am sorry it was not to your liking. If you want me to agree with you, okay, your ex is nuts and call the police on him. Whatever.

Just remember one thing, troubled people tend to gravatate toward each other in life. Think about it.
I would say go for it. Just be aware of surroundings and people, but

Some people are just not aware how dangerous
it is. I tried to talk with my sister-in-law about her husband (the half-brother of my husband). She has worked in the medical field. I was so sorry my words not heeded. I have been around him, seen him falling asleep just sitting down, the wreck, even out of town with my husband 1 night my DH told me about his horrible snoring, he is overweight but diabetic too and does not pay much attention to that. You cannot help where they don’t want it.
Being aware of it doesn't mean they would excuse it...SM

my point is I would like people to be aware that it is common (sm)
so there is not such a stigma about it. I don't think it is as big a deal as people make of it.
Were you at all aware of the 60s and 70s? That's exactly what the bulk of rock stars WERE doing!

that's not my intention. I just wanted to make him aware s/m

Klonopin is a wonderful drug but a benzodiazepam. Be aware of withdrawal.
I was placed on Klonopin during a stressful year when sleep was elusive, leaving me dragging all day.

It worked amazingly. But, there came a time I had to get off of it. I thought I could just stop taking it. Not so. The drug leaving my system placed me in a state that was far worse than the anxiety I took it for. For three months, I had ringing in my ears, was in an agitated state that I likened to listening to fingernails being scraped across a chaulkboard and then having that sound magnified a thousand times.

I watched a show that featured drug addicts in a methadone clinic and one person interviewed said that the worst drug to get off of was "bennies." Worse than heroin and methadone, and I believe him. I also came to realize there are many people hooked on these powerful drugs simply because the withdrawal is so very unpleasant to go through.

I suggest taking it periodically, never more than two weeks in a row. I only wish my doctor would have said that I would become physically addicted to it to the point that medical supervision would be required to stop taking it. Instead, they appeared to think I had developed "drug-seeking behavior" because of my anxious calls to the office when I was experiencing the symptoms.

there are usually places where you can get
kitchen cabinets, sinks, and bathroom vanities and sinks and other fixtures that are discontinued models at a discount and if the kitchen is small you can probably find what you need.
Know both places well
Grew up in Texas and have live near or in both what would you like to know and I will try and help.
Want to say this, some of the places
are not what I would consider very nice upkeep. Have been to the Flamingo to see shows but old, run down to my liking, also very smoke filled casino where you walk in off the street. I am surprised has not been 1 of the 1 demolished to tell you the truth. Monte Carlo may be ok- is on the strip. Lots stay at MGM, looks really nice from the lobby view. The Stratosphere is really low on my totem pole, did not like the atmosphere there. You want to stay on the strip I would think, easier to get around. The taxis are costly, ride the trolley, also there is free rides to places. The last time I was there found a place off the strip I wanted to see show- called the hotel and they told me where to catch free ride!! Lots of places offer those- people just don’t know to ask. The buses are cheap enough. Lots of walking- long, long blocks.
Hi, not just the ads here, although I do think that of all places,,,,sm
an MT forum and networking site should be more representative of what actually takes place in this field. There are ads on the internet, TV, magazines, just about everywhere. I think they should tone down the "rhetoric" quite a bit, and stop using hopeful young woman/moms as THEIR meal ticket with mostly UNREALISTIC and misleading "guarantees!" Really gripes me! Thanks for responding!

The places where I was able to go in my travels
always had babysitters available for the families. Oh yes to tell you the truth I do have money.
Have been loads of places
Greece, Mexico (5x there), Puerto Rico, Bahamas (4x there, Jamica, Alaska and my hubs fav is Las Vegas (6x there)- I was only in Jamica for a week but had a blast there, so much to do. I probably would save my favorite and most gorgeous (water included) was probably Alaska. Very hard trip for me, so far and I thought only trip of a lifetime but I think I have changed my mind and would love to return. It would be between Jamica and Alaska and I am past the beach thing now. Have a great time!
Been to lots of places
My favorite all-time place for me has to be Salzburg Austria (birthplace of Mozart), if you want sunny beaches the best time my hsbnd & I ever had was Ibiza (one of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea). We had two weeks of peace and quiet in a little bungalow. Spent every day lying on the beach, drinking sangrias & munching on paella and fresh seafood. Hiked all over the place. Had to take a bus from the airport to the hotel which was a very interesting ride as I felt like I was in a Romancing the Stone movie (we rode with animals on the bus). Sounds horrid but it was actually fun. My other "beach" vacation spot is Greece. Was there for a week. Lots and lots and lots to do there. Beaches, sightseeing, shopping. Mind you these were the mid 1980s when Reagan was president (and our country was a little well more liked than now), so not sure about safety in other countries. Hands down though I say Ibiza has to be the best if you want a relaxing beach vacation.

some urine has gotten under, between, or into the wood panels on the floor. You may end up having to pull those out and replace them. Don't use any kind of cleaner that has ammonia in it - as it will ATTRACT the cat to that spot.

There is a very good product called "Nature's Miracle", and they also make a cat-specific formula, too. It has enzymes that eat the invisible crystals of urine that you can't see or smell, but your cat - with 1000 x's better smell than humans, can still smell. There is also a similar product called "Anti-Icky-Poo" that works the same way.

Be sure your cat has more than one litter box, and try keeping them as clean as possible. Most cats don't like scented litter, so try using unscented only. The hard-clumping kind is the best, because you'll leave less traces of urine behind when you scoop. Experiment with litter depths. Lots of cats don't like it very deep. (Like my cat). Kind of defeats the scooping feature, but having to wash & replace litter more often due to using less may actually be a good thing.

My cat actually prefers NO litter... and either just a bare box, or one with some paper towels on the bottom. Only thing is, that way it's only good for one use, and has no odor-control.

If you use a domed litter box, try removing it. Some cats feel claustrophobic in them, and they can intensify odors inside (like a human's port-a-potty). If it's a big cat, try a larger litter pan. (A plastic sweater-storing box, like you'd get at K-Mart or Wal-Mart, makes a good "jumbo" litter box.)

If you only have one box, add a second. (A good rule of thumb is one box per cat, +1 extra). My cat likes to pee in one box, and poo in the other.

Try putting the box(s) in the spot(s) where he goes. If it's not in a good place for YOU, but he's using it reliably, you can gradully move it about an inch a day to your desired location.

Is there anything psychological that could be going on? (Which is MY cat's problem!) Is the litter box in a noisy place, like next to a washer or dryer? Is there a new cat hanging around outside that he can see and is worried about? (That was also happening here... I bought some cat/dog repellent and spray it around outside every couple days to keep them away from the front door, where my cat can see them.) I also tried spraying some of it in areas where I didn't want her to pee indoors, but with about 80% success.

I'm in the midst of trying the Feliway "Comfort Zone" synthetic pheromone products right now. It's EXPENSIVE stuff! But anything's worth a try at this point. One bottle is a diffuser (kind've like a bathroom scent-thing) that you plug into an electrical socket in the room. I use mine in the corner of the kitchen where the litter boxes are. There's also a spray bottle. If the cat is SPRAYING (like on the walls), they say to spray it where the cat sprays. It's supposed to be pretty effective. But for litter-box avoidance it can be less effective. For that problem I sprayed a little bit IN the litter boxs (she has 3!), and found the first 2 days it worked well. Kitty had a relapse this morning, so I'm hoping that was just a slip, and that the Feliway will keep on helping.

I called Rescue again, and they said that even though she tested negative for a UTI, that she would still have a very low-grade one that doesn't register on the test. They swear by putting the litter-box-avoiding, negative-urine-tested cat on about a month of antibiotics anyway, and that it often clears up the problem.

So I may try that next. The ONLY other thing I haven't tried yet is putting her on an antidepressant such as Prozac or amitriptyline... which I don't think her pet insurance will cover, and I don't think I can afford. I guess amitriptyline is sometimes a good choice, not only for its calming effects, but also it's anti-inflammatory properties.

It's not an easy problem to deal with, so I wish you luck, and I hope I might have had an idea that might help.
Different places when no office available

I have been in just about every room of my house at one time or another.  I started out working in the kitchen years ago because I had dialup and the apartment I lived in had only a phone jack there.  The kitchen was my favorite because it was away from all the noise--that was when the kids were smaller, though.

I have had a desk in the bedroom before.  It was handy when the kids were at school or hubby was home to take care of them, otherwise it was a pain because it was in the back of the house and if they needed something I had to get up from my desk.

The family room is okay, unless you have really loud family like mine.  My kids must be deaf sometimes, I swear.  Oh yeah and they argue in there over the TV the PlayStation, etc.  However, you can deal with some of that from the desk without having to get up.  It is a fair trade most of the time.

I had two different mobile setups over the years.  One was laptop which was okay, but before WiFi, so expensive.  The second, I had a desk on wheels that had everything I needed.  I could roll it out to the back porch and sit there to work while the youngest was out playing.  This was good for mild weather.  Be forewarned, if it is really hot outside where you are, you may have PC problems.  I used to have one that would overheat and shut itself off.  Ugh!!.  Oh, BTW, direct sunlight is bad if you have a laptop or plasma screen, so make sure you have shade!

I currently have my own "little room" for now which basically is the size of a really huge walk-in closet with a window and a door.  I shut the door when the kids are home because the words "please be quiet, I cannot hear when you are yelling at eachother" apparently are not in teenager-ese.

Hope this was helpful!

Trading Places.............. sm
Not in a million years would I want a celebrity lifestyle with all it's attendant trappings! I cannot begin to imagine the stress level that comes with it, including protecting one's privacy and that of one's family as well. Too often, I have seen a celebrity or their child brought before the glaring spotlight for America to inspect and dissect because of some err in judgment on their part. Besides, I'm not good enough with money to handle my meager salary, let alone the vast amount that a celebrity garners! LOL
ok, if i ever see one out on its own in public,

I have to agree with "Baptist here".  I think teaching in a public school would really make her shine - and public schools need teachers like her!
I am visiting the places you list
My first trip to Wyoming, visiting the Rockies like I said, Jackson and the like. Landing in Salt Lake, Jackson, going down Snake River, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Sheridan, Keystone, Mount Rushmore and listen to this, Bear County USA!! What a grand trip. Your country must be beautiful. I just wish could make to Montana as I hear the scenery there also grand but so looking forward to my trip and thanks for the information! Cannot believe my family turns down all expense paid vacation! My trip starts July 25th.
Oh and hospitals are some of the worst places for it! (sm)
Maybe it is rampant everywhere, but let me just say, people who work all night together in a place where there are beds....
Found several places on line that say...sm..
Do not machine wash, do not tumble dry, and do not dry clean. You probably need to vacuum the heck out of it with the crevice tool from your vacuum then maybe you can Fabreze it to death and leave it out in the sun to dry. I wouldn't use it on my own bed if it still has odors of any kind. Get your face right down on it and breathe deep! They're usually used for bedbound patients that are often incontinent. I think I'd still get a mattress pad or cover and put over it, too, even if you do get it fairly clean. Good luck!
Magnets - especially from places I've been.

My kids have their own places - one is married, one is not...sm
but they both still have a key to our house. There have been several occasions when that has come in handy for me and them as well. I think it all depends on what works best for you and your son.
This offends me, the fact that places can get away with it sm
Yup, I'm a Catholic and I have 6 kids. If not for birth control, I don't mean natural family planning, I mean medical ordinary birth control I WOULD HAVE 12, not 6.

As a matter of Catholic principles, I refused to have my tubes tied, that part is true. But I used birth control of all sorts, BCPs, barriers like French letters and diaphragms, cervical caps, IUDs and the like. I still got PG no matter how hard I tried, so I accepted the children and busted my fanny to support them.

For the record, never been on welfare, but had food stamps for two months when the ex stopped helping support them. It was too much hassle for the $118 a month they gave me and I could make that amount of money in the time it took to go and fill out the papers and have an interview. That alone should tell you something about those of us who prefer to work than take a hand out, and about others who line up for hand out rather than work.

As I have gotten lost in what I was going to say: This just pisses me off! A woman has a right to CHOOSE what goes on in her body, from birth control to abortion to you name it. This country was founded on the idea that we are all free to do as we choose, follow our conscience and NOT suffer at the hands of those who would TELL us what we can and cannot do!

EWWWW!
Those places tend to be more expensive sm
Glad you found something that works for you, but that is not the case with everyone. QVC, Catherine's, etc, tend to be more expensive, which is okay for a special occasion outfit once in a great while, but I cannot afford to spend that kind of money on my everyday clothing. Also, if I can't try it on, I usually don't buy it. I have bought clothing from catalogs and feel for me that it is not worth the hassle. Things look one way on TV or in a picture that do not translate well on me. Even in a store, I have picked something up that I thought was really nice and hated it once I tried it on, as I am sure many women have. I am not defending wearing too-small clothes. I am only trying to come up with a reason for someone doing so. You wouldn't catch me dead out of the house in something too small.
We're just trying to stay out of places like

Public school
I have a granddaughter in the mountains of North Carolina in the fifth grade, who has teachers from you know where..  They should not be in a school setting. One used four letter words and they were not love.  They will not go out with the students at recess, so it is a free for all with three to five grades out there all at once.  There is bullying and if she says anything, the teacher says she is squealing.  I don't think when your knees are bleeding from being knocked down, it is squealing.  The third grade was awful.  They finally got her moved out of there into another class and the teacher was wonderful.  That was about three months before the year was over and that was because they went to the superintendent of schools.  Next year was bad and this year is the worse.  The teacher tells the student she cannot believe the students are that ignorant, loses papers the students turn in and then gives them a zero.  Her mother saved her papers and showed them to the teacher and she had some phony excuse, like she had so many papers to correct.  Teachers are supposed to do that.  The teacher also has a teacher's aide three times a week and there are only 15 students in the class.  She also  calls my granddaughter a liar when she says she turned her papers in.  She says my granddaughter is to lazy to do the work.  My granddaughter loves school, is on the honor roll and would have made the principal's list had the teacher not lost three papers that my granddaughter had turned and gave her the grade she deserved instead of giving her a zero three times.  Don't say go to the school and the principal.  When they go, the teacher acts so nice and after they leave, she picks on my granddaughter and tells her not to go home and tell her parents things that are not true.  The principal does nothing.  They have her on a list for a private school and after paying taxes, no one should have to pay to go to a private school, but that is what you have to do.  I cannot believe that all the parents do not get together and descend on the principal's office.   My granddaughter loves school but not this year because of the teacher.  Cannot wait for the year to be over.  She has been humiliated in front of her classmates and when a classmate tries to stand up for her and tell the teacher she is not talking or doing any of what the teacher says she is doing, she tells the classmates not to try to take any sides.  She is a very loving, sweet, and intelligent girl and what she has to go through every day, makes my skin crawl.  When school is out, I am going to write the principal, the teacher and the superintendent of schools and tell them what I think of their teachers.  If they did away with tenure, maybe the teachers would take their work more seriously.  I never worked for a company that told me if I stayed with them for 10 years, I could not be fired.  Ridiculous.  The principal does not like to report anything is wrong because in the reports they have to send to the state board of education, the more problems the school has, the less money they get, so they do not report anything is wrong.  Report cards were given out Friday and the teacher wrote that she was a very good student, and a pleasure to have her in the class.  Why write that when all you do is pick on her.  To protect herself when things get tough.  Thank you for letting me vent.
