I'm sorry your going through this

At least with my mother, I, on several occasions opened up and told her the problems, but she choose to ignore them.  If your DIL is not giving you the opportunity to change your ways, that is not fair.  And I don't mean that you are doing something wrong, but maybe in her eyes you are.  But no one and I mean no one, should be withholding just because your a different religion.  As long as you are respecting their rules about not discussing your beliefs with the children, then there should be no problem (if that is their rule). 

I wish we could adopt you, we need a grandma!
