from the antibiotic. May need to stop it, but of course call doc.

If it's yeast, Gold Bond (or the generic). Change diet to avoid sugar and white flour. Any carbs should be high fiber type. Instead of giving her yogurt, acidophilus pills are great because they don't have sugar that feeds yeast. If you are at a nature store or healthfood store, see if there is anybody knowledgeable there with other ideas.

Shampoo: OTC Nizoral is great, though expensive.

I think it is a yeast allergy
Carbs and sugar feed the yeast in your body. I can't drink even a little alcohol without getting hungover or sick. My allergies were so bad that I used to have chronic earaches and toothaches (teethaches?). I also have an allergy to mold and all of the above make that worse. For that, I also stopped eating mushrooms, yogurt, soy sauce, vinegar. I love nuts though so I just eat a few at a time.

I have no sinus problems now except when pollen is bad and never get earaches or toothaches.
yeast infections (P.S)

We don't know it's yeast......sounds more like
xx
Probably a yeast infection - sm
I am overweight and have a pannus which I need to keep an eye on it underneath gets quite irritated and once I started to get a yeast infection I believe. I just used the athletes foot cream on it for a couple days and it cleared right up. I hope to one day (after I lose about 80 pounds) have it removed and have an abdominoplasty.....just need to save up $7-8K for the surgery as my insurance won't pay for that, LOL.
Aren't yeast infections
caused by the imbalance caused by all the heavy-duty antibiotics that have to be used nowdays to kill bacteria?

I am starting to see medical reports from journals saying that strong antibiotics seem to be causing the increase in serious allergies and asthma, and it's due to yeast and other fungi. Not all doctors are on board yet, but it took them along time to believe that ulcers were often caused by bacteria, so we shall see.
Did you know that vaginal yeast meds
and many of the meds for jock itch, ring worm and athletes' foot are the same exact drug? Now the sprays and/or powders use different ones from some of the creams, but the some of the athlete's creams are just like some of the vaginal yeast creams. It's all for fungal infections, but the makers want you to buy 3 or more tubes please, LOL.
I hope she got rid of her yeast infection.
Who infected whom?
And why is she acting so hysterically?

I've definitely had a yeast infection with antibiotic use...
When I had to take antibiotics for a tooth infection, I had to also get Monostat for the horrible yeast infection I got. I don't think I've ever had one other than that, so still don't think it's linked to my liquid fabric softener.
I can almost bet if you have an allergy
to a dog it would not stop there.  there would be other allergies also.  SHould we all just stop living? someone could be allergic to perfumes or dyes. should they not go out shopping because of this?  I guess that is why there is medicine. People cannot control the universe.

Here are some good home remedies you might try.

Labs are prone to atopic dermatitis. There is some good information in this site on that as well.

I have a diabetic shih tzu and in an effort to control his BS I took him off of all treats and dog biscuits with carbs. Because I have 5 dogs I did not think it fair to continue giving the rest biscuits and not him. In this move "no dog biscuits" two of my other dogs quit scratching! They were allergic to the biscuits.
From one allergy suffer to another...
My first allergist basically told me I was allergic to nearly everything, including my 4 cats, who I refused to get rid of. Another allergist looked at my results and gave me a different type of allergy test. It showed very severe allergies mostly to dust mites and a very, very small reaction to cats, but because my reaction was so strong to the dust mites it prevented the prick for cats being read correctly. I would try bathing the dog more often and using those wipes suggested by another poster. Using HEPA filters around the house (and especially in her bedroom) can really help with many allergens. You may want to try really aggressively altering the environment since you sound like you want to keep your dog. Good luck to you! :-)
Has anyone ever had allergy testing before? sm

I have had allergies for years now, but they seem to just get worse every year. I only have trouble from spring to fall. Okay all winter. I have tried every allergy med on the market with no relief. I have used over the counter stuff, Claritin, Clarinex, Allegra, nasal sprays and am now on Zyrtec D b.i.d.  I had a Kenalog injection about a month ago, which usually helps me get throught the summer. I usually get the Kenalog and take my allergy pill and for the most part can get by with minimal symptoms. This year it is like I am on nothing!! I have never had allergy testing before. I would appreciate any input on what has worked for you..or if you have had the testing done. Thanks!

allergy testing-----sm
I just had allergy testing done in March of this year. I had also had it done years ago and was expecting the 100+ sticks on the back. But, I was pleasantly surprised. They had this contraption that had 10 prongs on it and each prong stuck down into the allergen bottle. They then pulled out this contraption and mashed in on my arm and that did 20 "sticks" at one time. They did 3 sets of those and it really was not bad at all. I am now on my 3rd vial of buildup and will be able to give myself my shots after that. I developed sinus polyps during my last pregnancy and had to have sinus surgery last year. The doctors told me that if I didn't get my allergies under control, that the polyps would most likely come back. The shots have helped me a great deal and I can tell a BIG difference.

Just me, but, I wouldn't wait.

Take care!!
No allergy, still eat them in other things
As I was eating, should have left it alone then, had a strange after taste to the food, a sorta tingling, burning yet not that. I have never ate anything that gave me a reaction like this. She and another are doing food service with this and other foods. Have never in my 67 years had anything to cause such. I was thinking perhaps some sort of peppers used in it that maybe others in the south do not use?? My husband last night made mention of perhaps having it analyzed. I still have in the freezer. So strange.
has he ever had allergy testing?
my son takes allergy shots and it seems to help him. he doesn't have to take his Zyrtec as often. We also have plastic covers on the mattresses. I don't think the air purifier really helps him a whole lot b/c he is allergic to every allergen they tested him for.
Allergy to dogs
From what I've heard, anything that's mixed with a poodle is supposed to be the best dogs for people with allergies. Our friends have a cockapoo. Our neighbor across the street is allergic to dogs, and her mother has a pug and for some reason it doesn't bother him.
That's interesting. I wonder if you have a wheat allergy
as well as being sensitive to milk products.

My lab was diagnosed with an allergy to pine needles and had the same
symptoms you are describing. Now, I live in North Carolina where pine trees are as common as grits, so I thought the poor things was doomed!! My vet suggested a cortisone injection in the early part of the season before it got to really take off and then 2 tablets of Benadryl twice daily, which seems to have worked great for the past 6 years, but if I delay that darn shot and she starts that itching then I run into problems because not only is she itching from the allergy, but from the irritation caused from the scratching.
Had allergy testing and then shots for years -

I am highly allergic to dust mites (off the scale!) and had allergy shots for 4 years.  As far as I can tell, it really did no good.  I have had no carpet in the house we built for 7 years now, everything in the bedroom encased, run 2 HEPA filters in the bedroom and 1 in my office 24/7, and I still suffer quite a bit.  I was retested not too long ago.  My test still shows very high sensitivity to dust mites and not really much reaction to anything else (just like before the shots).  I know people who have had great success with allergy shots.  Unfortunately, I am not one of them.  It is worth a try!

Maybe a food allergy. My head itches today too! (sm)
I know you know this - but if she starts to have trouble breathing.... :-) You know what to do!
I think I'll call my doc tomorrow and see about allergy testing
Thanks!

Question about taking vitamins with allergy medication
This may sound like a stupid question, but I've never taken allergy medication and now I've got bad allergies. Just took a vitamin C about 10 minutes ago. Is it safe to take an allergy pill (Clariton I think it is) so soon after taking a vitamin, or does it even matter. Again, sorry if that sounds stupid, just not used to taking either and my head/eyes feel like they are going to explode and I'm sneezing and coughing and runny nose, and just feel icky all over but have got to work.
That is exactly what I was thinking, HUH?! lol NM

Thank you for thinking of others!!

That is what I was thinking. At first, she might
have had some point to what she was saying...but not after all the other posts I had started reading.
Well, I'm thinking one (sm)
of the differences (and I don't think that makes it right), is that this insurance company obviously is not putting out a huge amount of money for this claim. I highly doubt that you have the same insurance company that they have, so that could be another reason why it was so easy for them. If you ask my opinion, even though I'm related to them, I think it's a little over the top. I certainly didn't mean to cause any resentment or anger here by posting this to begin with. I really didn't believe that it would turn out this way. I'm still surprised.
What are they THINKING?

Just watched Idol and am shaking my head in disbelief.

You said everything I was thinking
.
Thank you for saying what I was thinking... sm
But didn't want to say. Esp. the post below about putting band-aids on the nipple and the child sucked beside the band-aids and put hickies on mom's breast? Oh, man. I'm sure it was all very innocent, but that made me nauseous.

I thought maybe it was just me, since I don't have kids, but breast-feeding that long seems a little sick to me. (I know, I know, they do it in other countries, it's perfectly natural, we're the ones with the hang-up, etc.)
Thinking??? They are not thinking.
I already have one brother in the pen and my other brother has NEVER been in trouble, he is nearing 50 years old and is facing several years in the pen for being plain brainless!!! Sorry, I am just so frustrated, I don't understand this and now I am left alone to assist our aging parents.
Thinking they can get away with it - ego. nm

They were Brooke's eggs...so Taylor's carrying Brooke and Nick's child...and Bridgette had everything to do with it, probably not Brooke!

Wow...aint we glad real life isn't a soap!!! But sure do love indulging in fantasy for 30 minutes a day!

Do you also watch Y&R? I don't think Nick's really dead...he'll come back, Phyllis will probably be in jail, and he and Sharon will raise Summer...just a thought!

That's what I was thinking too
for my own bedroom, which we are in the process of painting now. I want to add some color, and think that some kind of border would break the contrast between the wall and the ceiling, be it wallpaper, sponge technique, stenciling, or other. I think maybe having the ceiling the same color as the walls would be too much for me, unless a very light color.
This is the one I was thinking of! Thanks - nm
:)
LOL. Thinking the same
thing here. If anyone makes that doing this, they have to be totally working their behinds off!
Thinking about a new pet . . .
Does anyone have a ferret?  Are they difficult to care for?  Do you have to buy a pair or could I start out with just one in a large area where more could be added over time.  What is the best type of cage that is chew proof?  There are so many out there.
i'd like to know too, been thinking about that myself lately. sm
we have recently had to have 3 different appraisals on our home. i had to pay $350, $350 and $375 for each one. the last one the lady was here at max 15 minutes, it was her second appraisal for the day and she was gone before noon and i know she was heading to do another when she left my house. sounds like descent money to me. i am sure gas expenses are quite hefty with the traveling, but still seems like much better profit than MT. she took pictures and measured a few things and that was about all other than preparing the paperwork, researching other properties in area, etc.
I am thinking... sm
One year I planted tomato plants, 12 of them.  They all grew fine, grew flowers, then all of a sudden I could look out the window and actually SEE them such them down, whole plants.  schlooop.  gotta feed the babies.  We put some screening underground and next season was better.  Sorry about you punkins.  It could be rabbits, but the whole plant thing going underground was definitely gophers for me.
I'm so sorry! I was thinking
about your post the other day. My dog had the same type of weird behavior. He was wandering around aimlessly and fell asleep in a closet - not like him at all. We didn't really think too much of it at the time. Then a few weeks later he was walking along and fell over into the pool. He hates the pool and is terrified of water. My mother (who can't swim) jumped in after him, but he was already swimming. He never even went completely under the water, he recovered that fast. We brought him to the vet immediately. He had no hearing loss or vision loss. The vet said that he probably had a TIA. It has happend a couple more times since then. Other then the little episodes, which only last a few minutes, he is a perfectly normal dog and plays and eats. The vet didn't really do anything for him. He just told us that if we noticed any big changes, to bring the dog in immediately. I would definitely take her to the vet and see what the vet has to say. Give your baby lots of love!!!
Well, please at least tell me what you are thinking (sm)
I know you are not a doctor and won't consider it to be medical advice but have you heard of something like this before??
Thinking of you! - sm
My PS was calling us all today asking for us to work extra because of all the MTs in S. CA who are down. At least someone at the company cares!

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone down there.
Was actually thinking about you
when I saw it on the news - actually had film on Cape Cod.  Glad you are okay.  I also know several other regulars are from Maine.
Thanks. That's what I was thinking.

EXACTLY what I was thinking!
I have come to realize that my so-called "friend" is a very jealous person, and it makes me insane because I don't understand it! This is a small thing, but for example, at the beginning of this past summer, my husband and I were talking with her about GPS systems and how it would be nice to have one for our car for when we travel. She told us that she would love to get one, too, but they were just so expensive. My husband and I ended up getting a great deal on a really nice GPS system online in July, so we bought it, and when I told her about it, her exact response was, "I really have no interest in those things." I couldn't believe it! She had seemed like she wanted one ever more than we did!

Also, shortly before Thanksgiving, we were talking about laptop computers and how we both wanted new ones (we both had older ones), and she kept telling me that she was going to get one after the holidays, but I had no immediate plans to buy one. Well, for Christmas, my husband bought me a beautiful brand new HP laptop, which was completely unexpected! I was so excited, so I told her the good news and her response was, "Laptops are nothing but pains. I hate the things." Why does she do this???? I hate jealous people! It's not even like I was trying to make her jealous, but was just so excited that I wanted to share the exciting news with someone! Shouldn't a friend be happy for you and not turn completely jealous when something good happens for you?

I guess she is not really a true friend. After all of these times of blowing us off by not coming over when she has said she was going to, I am just sick of it, and I'm not going to even talk to her anymore.
Thanks - that's what I was thinking too (sm)
That at least I could try to show him a respectful way to behave, give him an example. Interesting that I am also a Scout leader :-)
I was thinking that too!!
I need to find a way to keep my arms out from under my pillow while I sleep too!!
