The new tax changes are supposed to decrease the amount of withholding and increase your take-home pay.

I SO agree - not enough research done for them

and let's not forget that thalidomide......and let's not forget ALL THESE DRUGS TODAY ARE BEING RECALLED - everyday I read about more drugs that have been *out there* - being recalled....cardiac meds, psych meds, et al, ad nauseum.........

These people are not GODs....they haven't all that much of a clue - they are sleeping with the pharmaceutical companies and as a matter of fact I read somewhere that Gov Perry in Texas who made the Gardisil mandatory - actually is funded/supported by the company who MAKES Gardisil.........

think there's an ulterior motive?  YEP....I know there is........

these pharmaceutical companies help with the politicians campaigns, fundraisers, etc....ad nauseum...and put ALL OF US and our kids at risk (for political $$).  IT IS SICKENING.

just my 2 cents.

do all the research you can
to ask questions. i have not been through this but have had experiences with doctors and know you should ASK QUESTIONS. do not assume their way is the best way. also, if you do research on herbals and decide to take any of that, BE SURE TO TELL the oncologist because those can interact with other medications they give you. they need to know. get a second opinion. i think when people are scared about what could happen, they just assume the doctor is always right. you won't find out about what kind of treatment is available to you until you find out what stage you are in. i'm with the other poster, hopefully they have caught it in time. you will be in my prayers tonight. keep your chin up and ASK ASK ASK ASK. let us know how it goes for you. :)
Do your own research then - just like I did.
I was having numbness in the heel of my right hand. I heard that it probably wasn't true carpal tunnel, and that it was probably just nerve irritation from setting the heels of my hands down. I heard that SoftFlex gloves were made to protect the median nerve from exactly that. So I got some and started wearing them. Within DAYS the feeling was GONE. So now I'm a believer that it is worthwhile for any keyboarder/mouse user to simply try protecting the nerve from pressure. SoftFlex gloves are a convenient and inexpensive way to experiment on yourself instead of experimenting with surgery. Are you aware that surgery often fails to help people?
Obviously you have not done your own research :)

what research did you do - you just said
Geesh - this is what we call *double-speak* - the ca-ca is coming out of both sides of your mouth............
PLEASE research before you do it as the others said. sm
do a lot of research yourself on post tubal ligation syndrome! docs don't have a clue. here is one good site....http://www.tubal-reversal.net/post_tubal_ligation_syndrome.htm

if you decide to go forth with it, i had it done 7 years ago. my abdominal muscles were sore for 2-3 days but other than that no real pain immediately afterwards. it didn't keep me from working since i sit to work, lol. but the problems since the tubal, i would never ever recommend anyone getting a tubal. the list never ends and is as most say you eventually end up with hysterectomy and/or other surgeries due to the complications brought on by tubal. how about finding you a fertility monitor? you could tell when you were ovulating and know when you needed to be safe or avoid. i know it doesn't fix it long term, but i wouldn't encourage anyone to have a tubal after my experience and others i know.
From the research I did,
this is what you should expect from a good chiropractor. The suspect ones tend to want to you sign complex contracts for extended courses of treatment, but typically patients only need 6-8 weeks of treatment, similar to the plan given to Misty. If friends or neighbors have been to any, see who they recommend.
She really needs to research before she
makes a blanket statement about southerns and their "cultural" things. If I do not have all my facts, I keep my mouth shut. She should do the same.
Research before doing anything ... sm
Been there, done that. There's really no good answer. With kids, father's rights prevail. Rock solid proof of abuse of the kids doesn't always override his rights depending on the judge/location and how well his atty uses "parental alienation syndrome" against you. Emotional support and some tips are available at Kourtsforkids.com, battered women's custody conference, etc. Feel free to e-mail me off board if you would like. Be sure to ref MTStars board on subject line so I don't delete it.
while you research what you want to do.

Do your research
Plese do you research before moving to Florida, climate is nice and it is a nice place to live but very expensive. My house insurance alone was costing me 300 a month, on top of the house payment, because of the hurricaines and a lot of insurance companies were pulling out and not even writing new policies. If you are renting, it is still expensive but not quite as bad. The car insurance is also about twice what it is in the central US. I lived there for about 20 years and left 2 years ago because I wsa single with 1 child and it was too expensive.
Research
I think one would really have to research this to get a decent handle on it.

I believe some have said that global warming will actually end up causing an ice age ... all that cause and effect stuff can seem so nonsensical sometimes.

Even if it is happening on its own, I'm sure what we do affects our planet. How can it not? Everything has consequence.

It seems that it is better to do what is positive for the environment regardless of if it would prevent abnormal global warming or not. Why not err on the side of caution?

For those of you who read the bible (and take it literally) ... I think people made fun of Noah when he built the ark, too.
Do some research.
Check monster jobs, career builder, and some other local hospitals in your state to see what kind of salary the position might make. If you really don't mind and don't want to go too high, just have a number a little lower than that and ask. It sounds like you probably already had your yearly review which would have been the perfect time to ask but you could request a 6-month review after you have had these new responsibilities. I have done that before. Maybe the next time she comes up with something to you or asks about one of the new tasks, request a 3 or 6-month review with her to discuss your added responsibilities. That way it might come off more as you want to make sure you are doing things accurately and completely and can ask for the increase at that time. If they won't do pay increase, or you don't want that, maybe ask for additional PTO, internet reimbursement or something of that nature that might be related to the new responsibilities. The worst they can say is no and you say "ok" and keep doing what you are doing.
Research much?
You are a moron
Perhaps you need to do some research
homosexuality is not a choice. Do you actually think people would choose such a hard life? You can pray all you want that my child never tells me he/she is gay as I just want them happy and would accept and love them no matter what. Now you on the other hand, gave your answer - you would tell them it is unacceptable and then no harping, no nagging, no bringing it up ove and over again because you probably would disown them.
Do your research.
The tax tables change all the time, but you can make changes in your withholding at any time. But, you need to know what you usually owe to the government at the end of the year. Most people never question this and simply fill out their withholding forms based on who lives in their house. Married with two children, then check that off, and the government settles up with you at the end of the year. Doing that, most people get a refund.

I am married and we have two dependents, but my withholding is filed as single with 0 deductions. We do this because my husband is self-employed and pays quarterly estimates. With his business, we can't always project a full year out what our tax bill will be at the end of the year, so throughout the year, he will adjust what he pays into the estimates, which is much easier to do than for me to go back to my employer and re-file every 3 months. So, I pay the higher percentage of tax from my paycheck so that we never get into a position where we owe a lot of money to Uncle Sam.

Sit down and figure out what you generally owe to the government. Just get out copies of your old returns for the last few years. Unless you had an unusual year along the way, you should have a good idea what you will owe at the end of the year. Then figure out what is being withheld from yours and your husband's paychecks. It's likely that you can increase your deductions and get more money in your paycheck each week and not owe Uncle Sam next April. You can will out that W-4 any way you want. There have been times that I've listed my withholding as married with 10 deductions.

My husband has been sending his clients to this website recently. You might find it helpful in calculating what your withholding should be.

Your boss probably isn't out to rip you off. But she probably just doesn't understand this. Don't rely on her for your information. Find out for yourself.
Do some research.

It would do good if you would research
young girls and the idolization that has gone on before you and I came along. I find it just unbelievable a person in this day and age would not already know this. Tsk, tsk
They could research ways that
regular people could go "green." The list could show the most fuel-efficient cars, how to make and set up rain barrels and how to compost and use organic fertilizers. Then they could offer that article to all their parents' home owners associations to print in newsletters. Some churches might put it on their website or bulletin board. They could probably make and sell rain barrel setups, for that matter, and profits could be donated to charities. You know there is paint that works on plastic now, so they could use the cheapest barrels, which is likely those ugly blue plastic things, and paint them neutral colors that would blend in.

great research!...thanks!...nm

FYI, just did some research & found that
N95 masks are what the WHO recommends for disease control (although they haven't been recommended in the U.S. for this outbreak yet of course, just Mexico so far).
Please research commercial pet foods
Please read this article, Iams is not a good food, there are many many out there that are, just not found at the grocery store. Vets do not know either, they are not taught animal nutrition in the vet schools which are subsidized by the pet food companies. I was horrified when I found this information out, please please inform yourself on this subject and if you find the below article too lengthy, just Google commercial pet food ingredients and you will be horrified such as I was when I finally decided to research this after my Collie died covered in cancer. All for the animals.

I had no idea what a french press was, how it's used, or nothin'.  I found this site with a picture narrative and even detail on what kind of a grinder to get.  Way to much work for me--I can barely operate my Mr. Coffee correctly, never mind one of these bad boys.  For you coffee afficionado's though, this looks incredibly fascinating and delicious!

I have done a lot of research on Anna in the past and of course now sm
since her death. Sorry, but none of your claims are true, according to my facts. No offense against you.

First, the son of the billionaire died on June 20 of last year after a short battle with an infection. So there goes the claims that the billionaire's did that.

Second. Anna is not married to Howard K. Stern, her attorney. They had a committment ceremony which both the Bahamas and the US do not recognize. UNLESS she has a will, which at this point we do not know, Howard isn't entitled to anything, BUT Daniel Lynn, her daughter, is. So, to me, I don't think he did it. I do, however, think he contributed to Daniel's death since there are reports that he immediately dumped pills down the toilet in her hospital room in the Bahamas once he realized Daniel was dead. Many reports on this one. He gave Daniel Vicodin (which is also what Anna was claimed to be addicted to), and Daniel was also on 2 other antidepressants he began taking a few months prior.

As far as Larry Birkhead, the previous boyfriend, according to his website dated Feb. 8, Anna was his soul mate. He was waiting for her to come back to him and leave Howard so they could raise their baby together. I know, weird. He just sent her a box with a photo album and clothes for the baby with a picture of both of them when they were together. It is said that he has been unconsolable since hearing of her death. I feel for him. That is his child, if you ask me. It is. Doesn't even look like Howard, who is Jewish. I am part Jewish. Very dark skin, dark hair. The baby is very, very fair skinned, almost red hair, light eyes. Most definitely not Howard's in my honest opinion.

Third, or fourth point. And I promise, I'll be done after this. Anna died of pure heartbreak, drug overdose, and a combination of the flu/pneumonia. Sources say she has never been the same since Sep. 10 when her son died. They said, she just lost her spark. I can't imagine. I definitely believe, after coming to my own conclusions, that Anna died of unintentional suicide.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox now! LOL
AGREED - the poster has done NO RESEARCH!

You definitely need to do some research on her political views! nm

The "therapeutic hemp oil" sold in this country does not contain THC, which is the curative property of cannabis hemp. You cannot buy the truly medicinal oil in a store.

Check out this link. 25 years ago in Virginia, researchers grew human cancer in rodents with tumors. They then injected the tumors with THC, and the THC sent the cancer cells into autophagy (the mutated cells ate/destroyed themselves) and rejuvenated the normal cells. When the our government realized it was a cure, they banned all research on it. A few months ago, researchers in Spain recreated the experiment and got the same results.

Enough of the facts, let's hear my rant...
The bottom line is that our government gets large contributions from the pharmaceutical and medical industries and does not want us to heal ourselves and be healthy. $$$$$$$$$$ You can't patent a plant, thus you can't make money off of it, thus (according to them) it has no value. If people knew that you could heal your cancer (and a litany of other disorders) with plants in the backyard for free, we wouldn't continue to use traditional methods that they make BILLIONS off of (that keep us sick and dying while they laugh all the way to the bank). think about if it was you or one of your family members. This should make all of us as Americans very, very angry. It is a liberty issue. Another thing, if it wasn't a cure, it seems to me that the government would just say, "OK, fine have it, make it, we don't care...it isn't going to do you any good anyways." A truly free being should be able to ingest any substance it chooses. I want to be free. That is what America is for.
Research passive-aggressive behavior. (sm)
Do you feel you are always at emotional crossroads and everything you decide to do together is handled like warring nations, not like loving partners?

Living with a passive-aggressive behavior spouse creates a daily emotional roller coaster. One is "stressed on an almost constant basis" and feel as if caring for an unresponsible teenager.

The passive-aggressive personality pretend not to listen, "forget on purpose," and purposefully do not complete tasks they agree to accomplish. Sullenness is also a characteristic of the behavior. The passsive-aggressive behavior can "rob" another one from a beautiful relationship. They cannot always see themselves and have a tendency to blame others (especially spouse) for their behavior. They sometimes display "revenge."

To rule out other serious medical conditions, encourage your husband to schedule an appointment with his primary care physician for "preventive care" only, letting him think nothing is wrong. The physician should order lab testing, and ask for thyroid function studies, etc.

Wishing you the best!!

Thought I saw a post like yours on the political board regarding grape research
America cannot take care of all the needy in the world, even if they gave the "grape research" money to them. Keep off your soapbox because you are yelling. I know several who use the welfare system. I give to no one on the streets. I don't care what kind of sign they are holding up, will work for ..... I rescue animals and help our 4 legged friends. That is about as charitable as I get.
I did a lot of research! Basically, I scoured the public notices in the local paper. SM

You know, the ads that say a certain property will be auctioned off on the courthouse steps on a certain day at a certain time.  Well, I learned quickly that just because you've read the public notice does not mean the property will actually get sold when advertised.  Like the person said below, a lot of times the owners rehab and pay back payments right at the last second.  The trustee selling the property is usually an attorney hired by the bank or mortgage company that hold the loan on the property.  You can call the attorneys and find out if a propert is still being auctioned off which I did a number of times.  Once you find out who holds the mortgage, you can contact the bank or mortgage company directly and make an offer.

For my particular house, it was a waiting game.  They actually listed it with a real estate agent and wanted $80,000 when they first listed it.  I called the real estate agent they listed with after it had been on the market for about three months.  They were asking $60,000 at the time I looked at it.  I thought they were crazy cause it was a 2 bedroom that needed a lot of work.  Just so happened that at the time I walked through it I was stilling bickering with the insurance company over my settlement, so I wasn't quite ready.  Then, three months later I'm at the grocery store (I live in a small town and it is wonderful!) and someone was telling the cashier about a little blue house that had been for sale for a long time and nobody was interested in it because the basement was a cinder block basement which scared people off.  Anyway, long story short, the person said they were now asking $45,000 for the house.  I had just settled with the insurance company and thought nows my chance to get a great deal!

I called the mortgage company and offered them $36,000.  I low-balled because I was prepared to negotiate.  They countered with the full asking price. So I countered with a $40,000 cash offer.  I said they would be crazy not to take it because I was a cash buyer, didn't have to wait for financing, and didn't require a mechanical inspection.  My brother-in-law waterproofs and pours basements for a living.  I had him look at the basement and told me that it was a dry basement and he would get a bobcat from work and dig out the dirt around the foundation of the house and waterproof it from the outside and that should make it solid.  I have cousings who are trim carpenters and roofers, although the roof was in good shape, no leaks.  So I felt safe not having a mechanical inspection especially because I have all this help should something go bad.

The mortgage company decided to sweat me out and didn't give me an answer for two weeks.  What they didn't realize is I wasn't sweating because I thought they'd be crazy to pass me up.  My waiting paid off.  They called the Monday after the 4th of July holiday and said it's yours if you still want and I said "I do."

I bought the house As-Is.  Also this was a foreclosed property which means the owners that were foreclosed on cannot rehab the loan and take back the property.  It's mine once we close.

So that's how I did it and I can't believe I did do it because I actually felt like I didn't know anything when I started.  I just prayed a lot and feel like I had some divine intervention for sure!

I agree......
I agree with everyone's reply here. Also--one more thing...DO NOT TOUCH THE RADIO/CD PLAYER WHILE DRIVING!! It was 17 years ago that one of my best friends was killed this way-very responsible girl, just did not think for that one moment.

I was a responsible teen, but my parents set strict rules on my driving. At the time, I did not understand but now that I have a 10-year-old son who keeps reminding me each year that he will be driving in __ years, I understand completely. If it were an option for us, I would keep my kids babies forever.

Another thing you can do, just to maybe ease your mind about driving is take her to the local police department and have them to show actual footage of accidents. I know that sounds pretty harsh, but it has saved a lot of kids lives in my surrounding area.

Hope this helps!!
wow - I sure do agree with you!!....sm

I would rather them be locked in a car driving than strolling or walking alone - In Florida - we have had MANY YOUNG KIDS killed (murder) by being alone walking to and from school.  My children are VERY responsible and pay for everything, except that car insurance (which is wayyyyyyyyy too much) which I offered to pay until age 28.  By the age of 28, they'll be earning more $$.  My OLD brother (and he's very old *LOL*) did this for his son until age 28 (think he's about 38 now) because of the exhorbitant insurance rates.  I decided to follow suit.  If we have it, why shouldn't we help them.  I'd rather help my children while I'M ALIVE AND KICKING rather than what they get when I die, IF there is anything to get *LOL*

Y'all have a GREAT day!

Remember, we can all agree to disagree without being nasty and rude.

and I so agree with you!!!.....sm

One of my children saved all the Xmas/holiday/birthday $$ ever received from toddler-hood so that at 17 had $6000+ and put it down on a BRAND NEW SMALL CAR, albeit I had to co-sign the balance.  Child did pay the rest off.  I too am very proud of the children who are  young still, one has worked for 10 years already (started off part-time at about 14 after school by own choice).

Yep, I want kids to hang out in multiple numbers today - never walking alone - too many CREEPS out there in the USA today and they are EVERYWHERE....really creepy to me.........

Let's sing out for the responsible good kids who are out there trying to live life in this messed-up world!!!!

HOORAY FOR THE CHILDREN!!!!  They are our future and if we don't back them, well then we are up the creek without a paddle, right?

I agree...
Don't be too quick to judge! Last I knew car seats can be moved from one car to another! It's so sad that a few rotten apples out there ruin it for the people who really need the help! Hope you are never in a situation where you may need a little help.
I agree
Hey, Chillie, I love what you said.  It's time somebody did.  All this political correctness crap is getting to the point where it really offends me.  And I'm SOMEBODY, TOO!!!  Thanks.
It all goes to what you agree to when you take the job
If you take the job knowing that it involves working the holiday or the night of or the night before then it is your obligation to do so.  That is the way of this trade.   Then the days following the holiday we are "dead" and everyone is yelling for work.  Kind of like the hospitals, the police, the fire department, the stores half the time -- we all know what is expected when we accept the job.  If you knew that it was expected of you when you said yes -- then I think it is your obligation to work.  If you have your own accounts or are an IC then you have the right to say no but don't complain when nothing comes your way the day or two after the holoidays.  I chose to have my own accounts and some are open the day after Thanksgiving and so what I pick up on late Weds has to be back by early Friday and so somwhere in that timeframe I have to get it done.  I might have a few more hours to do it but also have a family and life so will squeeze it in.   Then Friday I will have what was dictated on Weds and have to work on over the weekend.  So you see you are not alone but this has been the way since I have been doing this, close to 20+ years.  Before that when I worked in office/clinics we were never closed for the Friday after Thanksgiving, saw patients until 6 on Weds, back at 8 on Friday.  Anway got things to do.  Patti
I agree
I was in management also and I was lucky in that there were only a certain few MTs that were very stubborn about not working holidays or flat out refused. Most were willing to compromise, maybe do one major holiday and have off the other, or even put in a few hours of their choice. It is those who refuse to work all holidays that can mess things up for everyone. For if everyone refused, what then? I guess it would then have to become mandatory???? Exactly!
I agree with you...
Even if the story you were told is true, there's still something not right about the situation.  Best to make sure your daughter's not in any danger, I'd do the same thing!  Good luck...I feel for the other family though...how hard would that be?
I agree...

My husband is far from dispensable!  He's my best friend too.  He's a wonderful father, husband, son, brother, everything!  We've been married for almost 20 years and I love and need him more today than I did in the beginning.  Men are getting an unfair wrap here...although I completely sympathize with the OP.  That's her situation, though, not every marriage comes down to that.

Like I said before (and my post was deleted for some reason) I am looking forward to growing old with my husband...raising grandchildren...hopefully finally getting to travel.  I do believe the best has yet to come for us!
