I also think my Crock Pot cooks a little hotter

Posted By: than I thought it would. on 2009-01-22
In Reply to: No wonder - 10 hrs is WAY too long for chicken breasts, unless sm - ChiaPet

Still, I love it, and have since had some success with it.

For all of you gourmet cooks out there...

I have been placed in charge of the V-day banquet for our church.  I am looking for some ideas on what I could do to get into the theme of things, especially desserts.  Has anyone ever done anything like this before?  I am expecting approximately 100 attendees.  I appreciate any advice or recipes!

I have a great guy too, but he cooks and I
xx
Why don't you appreciate the fact that he cooks???
I mean, seriously. You said, "he messed up my good cake pain?" What the he**? My husband doesn't even know here our dam cake pan is. Quit complaining, pull your big girl panties up and either leave or stand up for yourself! Sitting in another room crying? Don't give him that much power. He sounds just as mad as you are. I bet it's not all his fault. I've been married a long time. When one person acts like that they are mad at the other person. Talk to him. Don't whine and complain. Be proactive and leave if it's that bad, although he rented a room to be with you so it can't be that bad.
Ok great cooks..need help with baked mac-n-chs!
We all love homemade baked mac-n-cheese.  However, I'm not doing something right.  I need your help!  I made one over the weekend and it was not bad, it was just really bland.  The only thing that really had any flavor was the cheese topping LOL  I am using the basic ingredients; noodles, milk, eggs, cheese, salt & pepper.  I am obviously lacking in the "flavor" department.  So who has a great TASTY baked mac-n-cheese recipe??  Thanks!
Ok southern cooks..anyone remember K&W's...

7-layer salad?  I used to spend my summers with my grandparents in NC and we never went to a K&W cafeteria that I did not get my fair share of that 7-layer salad.  Loved it!  I wanna make a good batch of it for the 4th...now I have looked online at several sites and the recipes are out there..but vary slightly by cook's taste I'm sure.  Have any of you ever made it and came pretty darn close to K&W's?  I'm seeing them either call for regular mayo and some sugar or Miracle Whip...or even several specified Hellman's.  Just wanting to know anyone who knows that K&W I'm looking for and which combination of ingredients might be the best to use to get it.  Thanks everyone and hope you all enjoy a great 4th!

Little Smokies in the crock pot with a jar of

I always use a crock pot for roasts.

A few weeks ago I cooked a pork roast in the crock pot, put a few whole potatoes in the microwave until they were almost done, then cubed them and added them to the pork roast in the crock pot along with a can of golden mushroom soup and tiny carrots.   You could probably also add some peas or tiny onions but I didn't have those.

Or you could cook the roast it in the crock pot then shred it and add barbecue sauce.

Can you tell I'm no gourmet?  Simple is my middle name.

What a crock of crap!
First of all, my child would not attend a school which forbids dancing, rock music, hand holding, etc. For him to be suspended if he takes his girlfriend to prom at another school is ridiculouos! What he does on his own time is none of the school's business. The school sounds like some kind of cult or something. I say they can go f*c* themselves.
I'm cooking a roast in the crock sm
that I took an envelope of dry onion soup mix, and two cans (hated to spare 'em) of Coke over the top.  It has been in the crock all day for me to whiff, hmmmm....  Needless to say, I can't wait to see what it tastes like.  I hope hubby and the kids like it!  I do not usually use my crock, but I got this great crock pot recipe cookbook last week from the library, well, I think I'll renew the book....  There are actually recipes for cakes in there, too!  Could you imagine a chocolate cake with pudding in the middle that you've cooked in your crock pot all day?  The book is called Fix It and Forget It!  I love to cook, but when there's lots of typing to do, the quick stuff comes in handy-dandy!  lol  That steak and "stuff" you guys are talking about sounds great!
I plan on putting them in a crock pot with
the roast and potatoes to cook all day. so maybe they will be okay. Thanks!
No, what a crock. The only thing I have read - sm
is tea tree oil and also coconut shampoos deter them, but whether that is really true is another matter as well. I just went thru *ell with the little critters in September. Still trying to get my kids hair back to normal, both have bad dandruff now from the lice shampoo and it has been 3+ months since we got rid of them.
yes, sorry, meant to put macaroni in the crock pot not the box :)

Bring something in a crock pot that you can plug in at the office & set on low.

Roast Beef and Sauce in Crock Pot

Any kind of roast, but works well with eye roast.  You can pan oil quick fry it to seal in moisture, but I have cooked this without pan searing as well.

Stir together, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp ground garlic, 1/4 cup of oil, 4 tbsp vinegar, and about 1 tsp of ground ginger.

Pour over roast and cook in the crockpot.  Depending on the size, I would do high for a while, and then down to low.  About 8 hours or so.  I've made this both in the crockpot and in the oven, so time varies.

I think it's a crock. Either talk radio or nasty

I put mine in the crock pot and they just fall off the bone
Although that wouldn't be an option for you now since it takes all day.
No recipe, but just mix it 1/2 and 1/2 and put in covered dish or crock pot. Uncover to brown
