Actually it is quite sensible. Water does not hurt them, and they hurt you by damaging the tree. You are the boss, after all. I just picture you sitting there shooting them and them running, kind of funny. You should draw a cartoon, because I too go through this every year and have 5 cats and 1 kitten. Can relate!
