I have a big boy too sm

My cat Gouda was getting 1 cup in the morning and 1 at night. 

The vet said cut it back so I did once a day and then by the time he would get his food the next morning, would eat so fast he would throw it all back up. 

Now I do 1/2 cup 6 am, 1/2 cup 6 pm. Still is a chunker though.
