I have my prince charming.

In Reply to: There are Prince Charmings out there - Totally disagreeing

We have been together for 8 years, lived together 8 years, and everything has always been great. Of course, we occasionally have the normal arguments and bickering that almost all couples have, but we always work through those, and we are both extremely happy. We treat each other with respect and always go out and have fun during his days off (he works out of the house in a hospital as a nurse, and I work from home as an MT). He always brings me coffee in the morning, and sometimes comes home during his dinner break at work just to see me for a few minutes. I feel extremely lucky to have him, and I know that he feels the same way. So, there are prince charmings out there.

No way is there a prince charming sm
when you eventually ditch this guy and get your kids raised, you will see how useless and inconsequential men are to us.  I have been happily unpartnered for the last 20 years.  Best time of my life.   There is no prince charming.  It is a myth.  American men are the worst.
I DO NOT believe in a prince charming at all but, I do believe sm
there are good men left out there. I think they are fewer and far between, but they are there. I also think that couples tend to give up on marriages a lot quicker than they used to (but this is just an opinion). I have been married for almost 20 years. He has his faults. I have mine. However, we work together to accomplish things. We are good friends as well as being husband and wife. We neither one started out being great parents, but we learned together. We learned how to work through our arguments and compromise. It takes time and committment to make things work. In saying that though, I do also believe that if the time ever came, I would know when it is time to call it quits. Just remember to try first. If you try and then it does not work and you know you gave your best effort, then it is time to cut your losses and look for greener pastures. I wish you the best.
There is no Prince Charming BUT

There are a lot of decent guys out there who have a good heart but also have the normal flaws and faults as we all do, male or female. I went into marriage (at age 26, no less) expecting to live "happily ever after" and boy was I disillusioned. The first year of our marriage I can't tell you how many nights we literally argued until 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. Each of us was determined to change the other. Well, guess what. Neither of us succeeded.

27 years later, we have been happily married for....oh....maybe eight years or so, total. Fortunately about six of those have been the last six - in a row.

All I can say to anyone who is considering marriage or who is unhappy in their marriage (for reasons besides abuse or alcoholism/drug abuse on the part of their partner) is get counseling - BEFORE you marry if possible, and certainly after you are married if you have problems you are not able to work out yourself.

Very interesting statistic - I live in a state that REQUIRES premarital counseling, and the latest study shows that one out of five couples decide NOT to get married after going through counseling. ONE out of FIVE!!

Marriage is hard work but it can be very rewarding. There are no easy answers. And there is NO Prince Charming. There are just human beings doing the best they can (hopefully).

I know there a true prince charming out there for me and sm
my 3 kids. I just know it. My husband was not brought up right, so therefore he does not know how to treat women, or anyone for that matter. I didn't know ANY of this until we had already married. Honestly.

So now, 10 years later, it's getting worse between us every year, but I think of all I have with him, the kids, our family, and right now it just would not be easy to just leave. Like I said, I don't have much as far as income when it comes to us.

Anyway, I'm glad I have ya'll.
Went and saw The Holiday last night. It was unbelievably romantic, charming, and just all around
a wonderful movie! Go see it this Christmas weekend if you get a chance.  I went with 3 of my girlfriends. We all laughed, cried, and left feeling so great!
Prince....
I guess he'll never age, huh?  He was very entertaining!  Loved the Super Bowl.  How about the bit behind the curtain with the shadow of that guitar (his silhouette was something else)?
I have my prince too...
so yes, there are good, kind, decent, loving and respectful men out there. No one deserves to settle for anything less...and no one deserves to be used for their money or just to provide a lifestyle, that's just wrong.
There are Prince Charmings out there
You just would not believe. I think a lot of women/girls have these lists of what they expect, good looks, tall, handsome, etc., etc. I myself have heard women read off their lists. I know you don’t have to settle, not saying that but am so glad my husband did not fit the above requirements because he is truly 1 in a million. Just gotta look at the entire package. Oh, and what he makes is really the big $$$ but love him for him, nothing else.
And Prince rocked it during halftime! Yowza! :) nm

If you can get over the ick factor, Michael Jackson has great dance music too.
