That's a creative idea. I'd love to have a listen, but I'd never have the nerve to ask! n

OP

How could you not? You might miss out on your true love.

Found my true love but OMG,
all those frogs I had to kiss before I did. Moved from my home town and have lost nothing there. I married my husband's friend after my husband died and have never been happier, a man who I cannot get enough of, never. I am not a young woman but never ever hoped nor dreamed of the love I have now, thought fantasy only. I went through several unhappy marriages before I got to this one, choosing the wrong person. Treated like a princess, with loads of sweet sayings from him and I in turn try to let him know just how much me means to me. Most of the above sounds good but could be just the moment type stuff. I feel like this, if it is supposed to be, it will be, if not then well you know the rest. If she should continue with this relationship, might be too tempting not to evolve to something more.
That is true - and I LOVE that about him - but also want him to be happy (sm)
I want him to continue on his nonconformist path - we have had the talk about how sometimes being a nonconformist can be a lonely road on some days but that it can be worth it too. I also want him to seek out things he enjoys and have lots of friends though
True Blood, The Office, Big Love...

I loved The Riches on FX, but it isn't coming back. That's about it. I still watch The Sopranos and SATC DVDs all the time, got the box set of each, great to work out on the elliptical or treadmill to.

Yes, we have to be creative
for this website and smarmy isn't strong enough but it'll have to do...LOL
Sorry I am not very creative so
I don't have a caption, but I am loving reading the posts.
How creative
That is such a creative idea. My husband owns an SLR digital camera and loves it. It is one of the best cameras we have ever owned.
I'm not very creative so
no suggestions on names here but I like the other ones that were mentioned below. Actually I posted a while back about wanting to find a way to make extra money maybe through farmer's marketsm craft shows, and such, focusing on jams and jellies and maybe a few single serving cakes, pies, scones, shortbread-type cookies to go with the other products.

Anyway, the point of my post is to wish you good luck! I have been too scared to start this venture yet but hope to in the spring, giving myself the winter to prepare. Please keep us posted! I know nothing about starting a business, licensing, etc. and that is the scariest part for me. I don't even know where to start! I think this could really work for you if your prices are right. I'm trying to do more homemade/from scratch items for my family for the sake of cost so you could provide the convenience to those who can't do it themselves and still provide them with some cost-savings not to mention all the controversy surrounding autism, ADHD, preservatives, etc. Seems like everything these days have something artificial in them and I like the idea of feeding my family without that.
Anyone know of a creative
type of profession one can train for without too lengthy schooling?  I'm in my upper 40s and am never quite satisfied with "normal" jobs.  I really need something creative but now don't have tons of years ahead for lengthy training (wish I knew then what I know now).  Any ideas out there?  Thanks!
Creative Memories
My mother loved Creative Memories.  She passed away last year, so I already have so much stuff, and I can say the items are well worth it.  Creative Memories has nice stuff if you like to scrapbook.  My Mom started a few books, which I will cherish forever.  She was trying to make one for each child and grandchild, but she was cut short by an illness.  I am loaded with Creative Memories stuff, but wanted to share that you will have so much fun being a consultant.  I had a great time at one of the functions.  I also saw a new twist on scrapbooking by using favorite recipes.  Not only could you include pictures of family gatherings, but also type up the recipe for the scrapbook page.  Fortunately my daughter spent a lot of time with my Mom and she will be able to use the supplies we have inherited through learning the techniques with my Mom and she's only 7.  This is not something just for adult, but kids like it too!  Good luck and happy scrappin'!!!!!    I think you'll have fun meeting new people!
Any creative people out there?

In giving gift cards to kids on Christmas, how would you do that?  I think it would be sad to just hand several gift cards to a kid that are in a tin or such.  No christmas fun in that!

Creative Outlets?

Do you all have creative outlets?  Just curious what you do, used to do when you had more time, or would like to try.

I used to paint and draw some and write poetry.  I'd like to learn to play the violin and the drums.

Has anyone ever tried being a Creative Memories consultant ...sm

If so, how did that work out for you?  I just signed on to supplement with transcription and was wanting to know if anyone else had tried this before.

Have a great day!!

You are all so creative! I need help! I will choose the best answer sm
and so I hope you can help us!! My husband and I teach an adult Sunday School class married couples class.  We need to come up with a catchy name to put in the bulletins, on-line, on the screen in the sanctuary to let others know about our class.  We can't come up with anything! One couple suggested Married Rockstars! How hilarious is that?  Of course, my husband and I don't look anything like rock stars.  Couples of all ages and personality types come to the class.  Can you think of anything?? It's been 2 weeks since we've been trying to come up with something! The ages range from 25-45 or so.  Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
Squirrels are creative, aren't they?

They can figure out a way to get into most birdfeeders.  True acrobats!

Any creative ideas for keep cats busy?
My cats have plenty of toys and there are two of them so occasionally they'll chase each other around the house, but does anyone have any suggestions for keeping them busy?  I just had to go throw their toys around for a while because they jumped up on the desk and started pushing things off - I guess they were bored!  They are indoor cats and one is overweight.  Any ideas for things they can play with and maybe get some exercise?
All very funny and cute! What a creative group of mom's!
My son wants to be a french fry this year. I had it down and was ready to make a great costume until he clarified to me that it was 1 single crinkle cut fry...now I'm lost. I'm going to the fabric/hobby store today to get ideas. I don't know how anyone is going to know what he is! lol
Creative ideas needed for an adoption party...sm

Hi,

We are finalizing the adoption on Monday of our 7-year-old foster daughter.  We're working on setting a date for a party to honor this event and are trying to come up with some creative ideas of how to make this extra special but without spending a cazillion bucks.

Please post your ideas.  Thanks!

I LOVE love love shallots! I use them in everything that calls for an onion and/or garlic. Mmmmmm. n

She's sweet. I think she's gorgeous. Love her hair. Love her sm
smile. I wish I looked that great! I don't even come close, so who am I do judge? I admire beauty greatly in other women...I envy them!
sweet....love the heart charm, he's got love.

God bless you on your path, all love begins with self-love, so you are really on your way.....sm
We should have less time putting needless labels on things, paying attention to dividing lines, and pratice more love, understanding, and humiility....we will all have things to answer for, no one is perfect, but I believe we are all precious and loved by the Lord, who knows all hearts, and has infinitely more compassion and mercy than ANY of us can comprehend. Be happy and take care of yourself, sexuality is such a small part of who we are in this world, but you have to be happy and at peace.
I love the animal channel, really love it and
my sweetie and I both watch but I absolutely, even if I know nature and the balance of, want to see small animals being killed and eaten and so forth. I know it happens but I either change the station or pick up the paper and read or find another way so I don’t watch. Also watch Discovery, love animals and love those shows!
I love you! hahaha I love your response! You can come over here sm
and kick my butt the next time I "allow" my husband to make me feel crap for whatever reason - which there seems to be many - he wouldn't complain if I made more money than him because his lazy behind wants to stay home and do nothing all day except to play golf. He tells me all the time, "when are you going to own your MT business so I can golf all day."

But, he is very mean, also. He hurts my feelings constantly and doesn't even care. He makes me drive around in his truck with bald tires and I don't like doing that for fear of a blow out and he'll just tell me, "well, don't go anywhere then." We have the money in the bank to get new tires, but he won't get them.

I love your comment, though!

And for all of you who will say, "well, leave the jerk!" It isn't that easy. We have 3 boys and I would be homeless. I only make 300 every 2 weeks MTing. We have a lovely home with a lot of space and besides him living here, the kids and I LOVE it and love each other so much.
Well, I LOVE a challenge too, Would love to debate this one day with you! sm
haha

Seriously, I was a staunch atheist for 20+ years. It's funny, though. I, too, believe that we are all electrical energies and that energy doesn't "die" and so, theoretically, where does your "electricity" go when you die, i.e., your spirit? I believe that "energy" within us is our spirit life - and that must go somewhere, right? It doesn't just go into the groun - which is what I thought for so long.

Anyways, when I learned about our "energy" and how it must go somewhere, I was really testing the waters of Christianity up to that point. After hearing about that, I was convinced that there must be an afterlife. I believe we go either of 2 places.

Anyways, I love ALL people of all religions, regardless of what I "think" or "believe." I don't think any less of you because of your beliefs! If I were to believe in a God who forgave me and loved me in my mut and mire, who am I to judge and criticize those who think differently of me?

I've always liked you no matter what your philosophy on life was....
Love people who love dogs.

I love the dressing and I love lemon pie..sm
My mom's lemon pie that is. I also love this dessert called Texas Delight or some people call it different things but is is layers of chocolate pudding and cream cheese and whipped cream. The food is my favorite part besides the watching my son open presents on x-mas.
Young love/older love
I think it has a lot to do with your age and his. I married hubby at age 59 and he was 49. Best thing I ever did but say if you are 30 and he is 20, hmmm in that case might not be so workable. What are the ages here?
Give her love, love, love and if she...
doesn't want medicine - don't force it. Does she like to be stroked or does she like her belly rubbed? You better than anyone else know how to make her feel loved. Give her that. If her times comes before Monday, all the better for you and her. She'll die peacefully in her loving home. But, if not, be prepared to give her the last loving gesture you can - if it's time to, than let her go.

I had to put my 13 year old Lab down two months ago. It is one of the hardest things to do. But, you'll know when it's time. My dog, Shadow, told me he was done, tired, beat. He sent me the message quite clearly. But, still I waited, not for him but for me! Finally I "heard: him and did what needed to be done. I sobbed for hours and then just suddenly stopped, I realized I was crying for me - not for him! He had had a wonderful loving home with "mom and dad and brother". He was old and tired and wanted to rest. He deserved that rest! So, it's done. Yeah, I'm still sad. But I know that it was the right thing to do. And, yeah, call me nuts if you want - I know that when it's my time that Shadow will come running, knock me over, sit down on my chest and lick me silly!

Now, I'll go and give my cat lots of love and remember the fun I had with Shadow. My thoughts are with you - make the best of the time you have with your loved one's, be them human or furry! My thoughts are with you.
No way this is true... sm
my husband is Aries and has never had an accident in his 34 years of driving. My brother-in-law is also an Aries and he's never had a wreck in 28 years of driving.
Very true,
I just do not want to hurt my husband or hurt our marriage. I have been doing a lot of praying about the situation and I am not going to let him ruin our holiday. If I have to not go around him I will just not go around him. Thanks again for all the replies, God Bless and Merry Christmas

But if you limit to under 20 gm for 2 weeks you will loose those bread cravings and sugar cravings. After that you have to slowly put them back in (the right ones fruits and veggies)and test at what level you will still loose weight. Adkins...But it you go overboard and cut them out for good will end ya in the hospital with kidney failure. Otherwise Adkins is a great program...2 weeks and the cravings end, amazing. I mark a start and end point for the 2 weeks on the calander and x out each day because to start it is brutal. As long as I can seen an end in site I'm ok. I lost 40 pounds on it 2 years ago and they put me back on meds to manage chronic pain and it went right back on, now I am learning to manage both. Bad back and extra weight are not a good combination.
according to what or who is this true?
reincarnation maybe?
So true!
You are so right--wish more had your compassion! There should be a ''Golden Rule'' for animals!
True but if you think about it -
helping someone to help themselves to not be a drain on taxpayers is NEVER a bad idea.

I was a single mother at 18. I had no one to depend on and couldn't get welfare. It was a long struggle but I did it and I did it on my own. Not everyone can.
So true.

LOL true!

That's not true
They will remove that money from your account unless they have some sort of overdraft protection that prevents it from bouncing. But if the check bounces, they will take the money from you. That is why at stores, they always have signs saying you will be charged a $25 fee for a returned check - because that money was taken away from them.

I had a $300 check that was given to me bounce and they took that $300 away from me - that was a mess!!!

My parents have been happily married for 45 years and in my entire childhood I remember them having 1 fight.

This is not to say a man is necessary for happiness. I personally have never married, am still single (and happy) at age 41. But I know its possible to find someone like that--in the meantime, I am happy with my life and will never "settle" for less just to have a man.
Very true (sm)
No woman should ever need to be dependent on a man to survive, ditto for men being dependent on a woman. Everyone should be self-sufficient in life.

Please teach your children, male and female, to learn a trade or a career that will allow them to support themselves. Please teach them to establish their own credit rating. Teach them to live beneath their means. Teach them self-respect and morals. Teach them to be self-reliant and independent. If they have the fortune of finding a wonderful man or woman, they are blessed as will be their children. If that wonderful man or woman turns out to be Satan in human form, they will possess the right strengths to handle the situation. If the wonderful man or woman drops dead long before their time they will at least have the knowledge and ability to support themselves and/or children.

There are wonderful men and women out there. You usually don't find them in bars. It takes more than 6 months to determine if they are worthy of you. Don't "settle". We are all responsible for our choices and hopefully learn by our mistakes.

To the women on this board who think they can't leave their husbands because they don't have the financial resources, please consider if staying is worth the lesson your children are learning in how to treat a wife. If that husband dropped dead right now, what's the difference? A life insurance policy? You will find a way to survive. No child deserves to grow up in a battlefield. Stop the cycle of abuse by teaching your children that being abused, whether physically or mentally, is never acceptable. Standing up for yourself so you can stand up for your children. Teach your children strength in by doing what is right, whether it is seeking counseling and/or leaving a bad marriage.

The woman that started this thread was so right in saying that when you hit middle age and beyond, you will be astounded at where life went and why you didn't make it better when it mattered most. Listen to your elders!

I decided to leave a bad marriage after 13 years. My husband had pulled "the last straw" and I told him I was leaving without batting an eyelash. On the inside I was in a complete wreck. Didn't know where I would go, how I would survive, but bad husband be damned, there was no way on this planet I was going to let my son grow up in that environment. I gave up all the comforts, the fancy home, the new cars, the vacations, etc. I'd do it again in a NY minute and I don't miss it in the least. NOTHING is worth compromising your sanity and your children's identity.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." - Eleanor Roosevelt
That's true, too.
I am sure now that I have invited her to email me we will do just that. That, of course, does not mean that we can't or won't use this board too, probably just not as much. I have only been speaking with this person for many a week, it's not like we have tied up the board for months. I know what you are saying, and frankly I have thought of that, too. It is annoying to us to be put down for just being friends. People who love their animals can't say enough about it, and that way it would be totally private and we can talk the whole DOGgone day or night. How about it, Me2, give me your opinion.
How very, very true!
Reading that just took me back twenty-five years! At the point where he asked me not to tell the cast members in his play who I was because they didn't know he was married (and I actually complied!)I knew it was either get out or commit suicide. I made the sane choice.
Is it really true?
Reading a great little book called "Food Pets Die For" I learned that the recent epidemic of pet deaths forcing recall of nearly a hundred brands of poisonous commercial pet food is only the "tip of the iceberg". Is it true that ground up roadkill, diseased pet carcasses, and slaughterhouse waste, mixed with grain unfit for human consumption and laced with synthetic preservatives, is considered a healthy diet for people's beloved pets by most veterinarians? If not, then why do so many vet offices sell the stuff?
Yes, it's true

I've heard the Wal-Mart brands are the worst (like Old Roy).

I have to feed my dog a special dog food I get from the vet for dogs with kidney and bladder problems because he gets bladder stones. Hill Science Diet makes it.

I also get regular boneless chicken breasts from the grocery store, usually about 10 pounds at a time, cook them up in the crock pot (I have a 5-6 quart crock pot), put them into plastic bowls and freeze them. Since he is a small dog, that makes enough food for his "supper" for a month or more. I usually try to catch sales for $1.99 a pound (sometimes $1.49 a pound). That's only $20 for a month's worth of food that you know is at least reasonably healthy.

Very true
My friend goes to garage sales every weekend. She collects antiques and picks up things at sales that people have no idea how much they're worth and she buys them for close to nothing and finds out they're work hundreds of dollars.
That might be true but
a person working at the jail, prison, etc., etc. is not allowed to give out that information about a person. Right?
