Too funny - I love that movie seen it 5 times
and I still laugh each time. There are so many funny scenes. It is funny though how people have such different tastes because a lot of the movies others hate I love.
I love that story, tell us another. nm

You have to read this if you love dogs

Some years ago my mom's darling Westie, who was like my own, was taking a little nap downstaris in the rec room on the sofa. My stepfather got the upright vacuum cleaner out and plugged it in and began cleaning. Molly got up from the sofa and ran to a little bear that was given to her some years before (nothing left of it now but a shell of itself with all the stuffing pulled out) and dashed to the doggie door. I heard the click of the door and saw she had taken her baby out to safey and placed in on the patio. Just as quickly she came through the doggie door and back up on the sofa and continued the nap. God love her. How I miss her.

I'm a dog lover, and most dogs love me. - sm
I can be walking down the street, simply make eye contact with one and smile without saying a word, and the dog will usually rush up to me, wagging his tail like crazy and acting all silly and lovey-dovey.

In the past, some of the absolute sweetest dogs I'd ever known were pits & rotties. But that was in the ྌs, before the big 'gangsta-dog' thing became popular. Then people started breeding these dogs more for a surly attitude than for good temperament, and it seems to be a dominant trait that's getting passed forward, even when unintended.

So fast-forard to 2 weeks ago. I was out walking in my neighborhood, and was coming up a long flight of sidewalk stairs that go up the steep hill I live on. Halfway up, I saw a big brown pit bull standing there looking at me. I had seen him running loose on my street earlier in the day, and wondered whose he was, but then forgot about him.

He had an aggressive body-language that I didn't like. But I'm not afraid of dogs, and continuned on up the steps, and talked to him nicely as I reached the top. But then the dog totally went off, and began barking, growling, and making charges at me.

I knew to stand my ground, and first tried sweet-talking him. Didn't work. If I tried to slowly move away from him in any direction, he'd come around and try to come in at me from behind. There wasn't a soul around.

I tried scaring him off, but that only exacerbated the problem, so I decided to just stand there and let him do his thing. 20 minutes later, he was just as aggressive as ever, maybe worse, because his charges were coming closer and closer. The only 'weapon' in my possession was a single can of cat food in a plastic bag, that I'd walked down the hill to the market to buy. Considered whacking him with it, but didn't want to be in that close to him.

Turns out the owners were in an apartment right across the street. A couple finally came out and called off the dog, stating "Oh, we didn't know he was out." (I doubt that - the dog had been out all afternoon.)

Anyway, I told them I'd call the sheriff and/or animal control if I ever saw him out again. When I got home, I called animal control anyway, and filed a formal complaint, so that if he bit anyone in the future, there would already be a complaint against him, and he likely would not be released from the shelter. Animal control said they'd follow up with the owner, which hopefully they did.

In the meantime, I did 2 things: I programmed the sheriff's phone numberinto my cellphone, which I now slip into my pocket whenever I go out for a walk. Good thing to do, anyway. The other thing is I went to Army-Navy Surplus, and bought a cannister of professional-grade pepper spray. Not the wimpy, .02% 'dog-repellent'. I doubt that would stop a pitbull. I got the 15% stuff that will bring a 200-pound, raging crack-addict to his knees and keep him there for more than an hour. That goes into my pocket, as well. Now I can walk & bike with peace of mind.

Meanwhile, those pitbull owners should consider themselves very lucky that their dog went after someone who knows dogs, is not afraid, and didn't RUN. If a timid woman, or worse, a child, had come up those steps that afternoon, the resulting attack might have made the 6 o'clock news that night.

There are probably still some gentle pits left out there, but I think their numbers are declining because of the current fashion statement of being a 'big bad gangsta, with my big, bad gansta-dog'. They want their dogs to intimidate people, and then they wonder why they can't rent an apartment or get homeowners insurance to cover dog bites. In some cities you have to post a $30,000 bond in order to keep one. It's little wonder that unwanted pits and pit-mixes are clogging up our animal shelters. I feel sorry for the animals, but if I were adopting, I wouldn't want the financial liability of owning one.
Aww! I just love dogs. Any kind.
The one on the right looks like she/he is smiling.

What is a belly band and what do you use it for?

Are these pugs related to the pug that was oin the Men in Black movies with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith? Just a different color?

A broken love story - who do you agree with?

Two people were both in very bad marriages when they met - her husband had been cheating for years but she was afraid to leave, his wife had kicked him out repeatedly but had him come back to live basically as a roommate to help pay the bills.  They fell in love.  He was a strong Christian and started to feel terribly guilty and told her through many tears that it had to end, that God had to come first.  She, being a backslidden Christian herself saw that he was right.  Through many tears and lots of prayers for forgiveness and help, they let each other go.  Later, his wife kicked him out again, this time permanently.  About six months later, his love decided to finally leave her still cheating husband.  She told the man she loved.  He said that he missed her terribly and it was the hardest thing he had ever done, but because of the way their relationship started, they could never be together again, because it would be a sin.  She disagreed, feeling that they had been forgiven for what they had done and that neither of their marriages ended because of each other.  Who do you agree with?

I would love it if someone made Christmas dinner for me!
If the others are in agreement about no gifts, then why not make it a pot luck?  I don't like to go to a big dinner empty handed.  If people live local, why not assign dessert for someone to bring, potatoes to someone else? That way, everyone has contributed.  Making a huge dinner for a lot of people can be very expensive.  I make Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for my family (usually only about 8 to 10 people) and one dinner, in years past, has run about $200.  Don't know how much it would be this year.
American Idol - Love, love, love Adam!!!
I think he'll make it til the end! At least I hope so!

Hey, nice to meet goombas here! Love the fish tradition Christmas Eve!
nm
Absolutely love Christmas. Start shopping every year by end of August for kids. sm
Start getting lists from rest of family by end of Sept. into Oct and usually have everything done, bought, and wrapped by Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!! By doing that I can sit back and just enjoy the beauty of the season.
My niece had a Yorkie, the love of her life! We all loved her so. Lots of love in store for you.

She's sweet. I think she's gorgeous. Love her hair. Love her sm

God bless you on your path, all love begins with self-love, so you are really on your way.....sm
We should have less time putting needless labels on things, paying attention to dividing lines, and pratice more love, understanding, and humiility....we will all have things to answer for, no one is perfect, but I believe we are all precious and loved by the Lord, who knows all hearts, and has infinitely more compassion and mercy than ANY of us can comprehend. Be happy and take care of yourself, sexuality is such a small part of who we are in this world, but you have to be happy and at peace.

There "The Gift of the Magi," He sells his gold watch to buy her a comb for her hair and she sells her beautiful long hair to buy him a chain for his gold watch. It used to be on "Short Stories by O'Henry" but that's long gone, long ago. Good moral to the story. I can't stand "It's a Wonderful Life" -- too depressing, especially with banks closing, too intimidating right now!!!
I love the animal channel, really love it and
my sweetie and I both watch but I absolutely, even if I know nature and the balance of, want to see small animals being killed and eaten and so forth. I know it happens but I either change the station or pick up the paper and read or find another way so I don’t watch. Also watch Discovery, love animals and love those shows!
I love you! hahaha I love your response! You can come over here sm
and kick my butt the next time I "allow" my husband to make me feel crap for whatever reason - which there seems to be many - he wouldn't complain if I made more money than him because his lazy behind wants to stay home and do nothing all day except to play golf. He tells me all the time, "when are you going to own your MT business so I can golf all day."

But, he is very mean, also. He hurts my feelings constantly and doesn't even care. He makes me drive around in his truck with bald tires and I don't like doing that for fear of a blow out and he'll just tell me, "well, don't go anywhere then." We have the money in the bank to get new tires, but he won't get them.

I love your comment, though!

And for all of you who will say, "well, leave the jerk!" It isn't that easy. We have 3 boys and I would be homeless. I only make 300 every 2 weeks MTing. We have a lovely home with a lot of space and besides him living here, the kids and I LOVE it and love each other so much.
Well, I LOVE a challenge too, Would love to debate this one day with you! sm
haha

Seriously, I was a staunch atheist for 20+ years. It's funny, though. I, too, believe that we are all electrical energies and that energy doesn't "die" and so, theoretically, where does your "electricity" go when you die, i.e., your spirit? I believe that "energy" within us is our spirit life - and that must go somewhere, right? It doesn't just go into the groun - which is what I thought for so long.

Anyways, when I learned about our "energy" and how it must go somewhere, I was really testing the waters of Christianity up to that point. After hearing about that, I was convinced that there must be an afterlife. I believe we go either of 2 places.

Anyways, I love ALL people of all religions, regardless of what I "think" or "believe." I don't think any less of you because of your beliefs! If I were to believe in a God who forgave me and loved me in my mut and mire, who am I to judge and criticize those who think differently of me?

I've always liked you no matter what your philosophy on life was....
I love the dressing and I love lemon pie..sm
My mom's lemon pie that is. I also love this dessert called Texas Delight or some people call it different things but is is layers of chocolate pudding and cream cheese and whipped cream. The food is my favorite part besides the watching my son open presents on x-mas.
Young love/older love
I think it has a lot to do with your age and his. I married hubby at age 59 and he was 49. Best thing I ever did but say if you are 30 and he is 20, hmmm in that case might not be so workable. What are the ages here?
Give her love, love, love and if she...
doesn't want medicine - don't force it. Does she like to be stroked or does she like her belly rubbed? You better than anyone else know how to make her feel loved. Give her that. If her times comes before Monday, all the better for you and her. She'll die peacefully in her loving home. But, if not, be prepared to give her the last loving gesture you can - if it's time to, than let her go.

I had to put my 13 year old Lab down two months ago. It is one of the hardest things to do. But, you'll know when it's time. My dog, Shadow, told me he was done, tired, beat. He sent me the message quite clearly. But, still I waited, not for him but for me! Finally I "heard: him and did what needed to be done. I sobbed for hours and then just suddenly stopped, I realized I was crying for me - not for him! He had had a wonderful loving home with "mom and dad and brother". He was old and tired and wanted to rest. He deserved that rest! So, it's done. Yeah, I'm still sad. But I know that it was the right thing to do. And, yeah, call me nuts if you want - I know that when it's my time that Shadow will come running, knock me over, sit down on my chest and lick me silly!

Now, I'll go and give my cat lots of love and remember the fun I had with Shadow. My thoughts are with you - make the best of the time you have with your loved one's, be them human or furry! My thoughts are with you.

"You'll shoot your eye out."

"I double dog dare ya."
reminded me of my Christmas story
Went to get what I thought was a tissue in the heater vent and found a possom!  Mean ugly thing.  Tried luring him out (and God knows what I was going to do if he came up into the house - didn't think about that at the time) but he couldn't fit through the final turn.  Called critter people and left for Christmas day with heat turned off and cans of tuna cat food in the ducts that lured him out to a trap.  Yeah - the house smelled real good and was cold when we got back.  They told me they would trap him alive and take him off the woods.  Lied!  that was about 300.00.
sounds like the little boy in Christmas Story in his snowsuit.

It is better to love and have lost than to not know love at all...

Who do you really love?  This is not meant to sound rude, but to make you think...if you felt like ending your life and acted upon it because you loved someone so deep but they did not feel the same way, do you think that ending your life is really going to make them love you anymore? No...now you mentioned your mom and family, would they hurt more if something happened to you?  I have entertained thses thoughts before and girl, he is not worth it.  The main ingredient in Love is YOU...you have to love yourself first.  My situation was different but you know, love is love.  We can not make another being love us.  We give them too much power. If he is gay, let that be him sinking in that ship alone.  What I mean by that is to give someone yourself is one of the most precious gifts, but knowing that they are giving to Tom, Thomas and Timothy is very demeaning to you.  No matter how much you want him to touch you, it is good that he isn't.  DISEASES, don't discriminate, nor does death.  Please my friend, listen to your inner feelings/thoughts and know that you will survive, but only if you believe.

Dont forget "A Christmas Story" ("You'll shoot your

to your husband, but sometimes being a parent calls for tough love to teach lessons that children need to learn and if that means missing a meal, missing a dance concert, missing a weekend of fun with friends for being grounded, so be it.

We are going to just have to agree to disagree about my parenting style. It works well in my family and my children are safe, sane, and happy and will be well prepared for whatever life throws at them. It's not all puppys and rainbows and it's never too early to teach them that.

I use them too and love them!
When I clean, I have a wet one and a dry one. You can use the dry one to polish things after cleaning them or getting any streaks off mirrors after cleaning. They work great, and you just throw them in the washing machine when you are done. Sam’s has a big pack of them in the auto section where they sale stuff for mechanics, and they are relatively inexpensive.
Love it!! nm

They love it!
My oldest is 12 and has been dancing since she was three. My other two are 9 and 5. They still do ballet, but have also done jazz, tap, polynesian, mid-eastern, and others. They love it, it is good exercise, and builds wonderful grace, style and discipline. They also play sports, but dance is their first choice of extra activities. Enjoy it!!!
Love AI
I love AI and couldn't wait to watch it tonight. What were most of those people thinking??? I loved going to the Idol Tour two years in a row and meeting all of them.
