YOU are the child's mother - YOU should make all major decisions about this child - of course, your boyfriend should have lots of input since he does live there and is an important part of the family, but you should be the go to person as far as everything - including discipline - you didn't say how long you and BF have been together, but still, I think you need to establish these things now so everybody is on the same page. . Also, I wish the schools/teachers would just make a simple phone call if they see a problem developing, so parents could get control of it before it gets out of control. . . Good luck.. You are on the right track...
