from what I have heard he is still getting paid (or already has been paid) for doing the book. I only hope that the families can collect what they won in the civil suits from what he is being paid.

That is really good news sm
It is really hard, and I am glad you found a solution that will work for you.  Please, keep us updated and how she does in the new school.
Good news!!

  IT ISN'T BEDBUGS!!!

We had the exterminators over and they said they have extensive experience treating bedbugs, in fact they are fighting them at a local hotel right now along with a number of private homes.

They didn't see any evidence of bedbugs and they said the marks on my husband don't look like bedbug bites at all.  They suggested that he see his doctor, which he is going to do.

Woohoo!!  I am sorry my husband is suffering, but we are both GLAD it isn't bedbugs.

That IS good news! Now he can come in

Hopefully good news
I go to a senior citizens place and this morning found out they are starting ceramic classes the last of this month. First of all I am really pleased just to go but uppermost in my mind is the possibility I might be able to do my own gravy boat. I really love crafts, wish I had my mothers genes in that regard, but don’t so I need instructions and then follow along but still love doing things and might even get that boat I need. Lucky me!!
that really IS good news.....
Thanks very much for the info. I will definitely check into it as that is a huge factor in determining whether or not I actually do go back to school, (among other things, such as how much time will this take away from my family? I don't want it to take too much.)
There is good news.
(03-07) 13:37 PST SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger denounced a state appeals court ruling that severely restricts homeschooling and promised Friday to change the law if necessary to guarantee that parents are able to educate their children at home.
"Every California child deserves a quality education, and parents should have the right to decide what's best for their children," Schwarzenegger said in response to the ruling, which said children educated at home must be taught by a credentialed teacher.

"Parents should not be penalized for acting in the best interests of their children's education," Schwarzenegger said. "This outrageous ruling must be overturned by the courts, and if the courts don't protect parents' rights then, as elected officials, we will."
My good news?
I'm alive!

And on a totally trivial note - I finally figured out how to use a banana comb in my hair without it looking like a disaster.
Good News
My daughter just got straight A+. She's in 8th grade, but she's in all accellerated and honors classes (9th grade). Now, if we could just get her in shape at home. LOL.

Sara your babies are adorable.
My good news: (sm)
A Trader Joe's market is going to open up not far from where I live.

My best friend will be visiting SF over Memorial Day weekend.

The Ka-Boom Festival is coming this month. (Best fireworks show in the Bay Area). Los Lobos, one of my favorite bands, will be performing there live. Should be XLNT!

to me anyway. After working the last two months to get estimates and paperwork together, I got approved for a home improvement loan. New furnace with central air, new roof, new windows, new doors, new front stoop. Well, this is exciting to me anyway.
my good news

Going away over night with my husband to a casino and see Jay Leno with friends.  First time we have been away without my daughters since we were married and that was 28 years ago.

My good news
My youngest son is graduating high school in less than a month with state and school honors and got offered a huge scholarship at one of our state schools, which he has proudly agreed to accept. He wants to pursue chemical engineering and work with alternative energy sources. This is our bright future, and I am so proud.
My good news...

My daughter, who graduates from high school in a month, got accepted to the college she wanted to go to this fall.  She was thrilled!

Good news...
No debt but the mortgage, vacation next week for 3-1/2 weeks.
Well, that's not good news.
I love their microdermabrasion stuff that smells like oranges.  Too bad.  Not nice to hear.  Thanks for the notice.

That is such great news. Good for her....
That is wonderful for you as well.  You must be so proud.  Best wishes to her new path in life!  I love bragging on my kids, too, and I thank them each night when I tuck them in (12 and 7 years) for giving me reasons to brag, and they just smile!  That never gets old, ya' know?  Enjoy  !
Good news! Glad all went well.

Glad you got some good news to
make you feel a little better.

Pleaes do post updates as you can. Hope the radiation isn't too rough.
I love good news and this is certainly some
I had posted this morning asking about pup-pup and I was really worried it was parvo, glad to know the baby had its shot already for that. Thanks for the update!
Good news today for me
I posted about this a few weeks ago. I had tile put in throughout my grand room, porcelain to be exact, spent over $8,000.00 for that and lo and behold something that was supposed to be the tops started getting spots all over it. Not only that but I noticed some scuff marks. The installer came over, the people from the tile company came over, even the manufacturer from Italy came over. That was put in in May, now September almost over. I wrote a demand note to the installer I wanted it redone at his expense (I paid him for everything up front) and before the letter had time to get to him he called telling me the tile company going to pay to have it completely redone. I am a happy girl. Even though I love the porcelain, needless to say afraid to choose the same and going with another kind. Keeping the old fingers crossed!
'statins - any good/bad news? sm
I have been placed on generic Zocor, low dose, and really hate being on pills, I don't know why he wants me to take it h.s., but take Tricor in the morning, along with two BP (nifedipine and Atacand) meds. I just hate putting stuff in my system, feel like I'm poisoning myself and perhaps it's my imagination, but I felt better taking nothing.  BP has improved but my overall health feels compromised by all these pills and my stomach is not too happy.
How about some happy good news

Anybody got any? Seems like lately there has been page after page of bad news, news stories and more. Now please don't think I'm knocking anyone for posting them but I really really need a pick me up today and I think a lot more are needing it too.

Sooooo that being said....does anyone have any good news to share? Anyone preggers, expectant grandparents, bought a new outfit, shoes, jewelry?

While I'm thinking of good news
y'all can enjoy a pic of my furbabies, they always make me smile.
Glad to hear the good news -sm
Thanks for the update. That is good news! You have eased my mind about having it done, and I hope to do it real real soon. I know I've put it off long enough. Your messages have been so encouraging and much appreciated. I'll keep watching in case you post any more good news. ;-)
I am SO happy to hear the good news - sm
Have you tried offering her the AD food you get from your vet mixed with Pedialite? Very high in nutrition. I also like to offer them the meat baby foods and small pieces of ham or whatever else they like. Cherish every day with her. Love her. Put her needs before your own no matter what. I think you will know when it is time to let her go. Focus on the joy she has brought you over her lifetime. I will be thinking about the two of you. :-)
I heard some really good news, look inside
I also am in Georgia and perhaps you have listened to Clark Howard or Elise Glink who fills in sometimes for him. She was talking the other day to a guy who wanted to get into nursing. The opportunities are endless right now. Places are actually paying for any and all tuition, etc. you need - in return you work for them for ?? don’t know the length but if I were you, I would definitely go for it. The pay is otta sight, the rewards many, and you know with MTing how it is going! I do not think you would be doing the wrong thing if you did. I hope you will look into the issue of having the lot paid for you, what could you lose? You might try looking on Glink's web, you could get in touch with wsbtv consumer line and they will give you that link (that is out of Atlanta if you don’t know). Good luck with that!
Thanks for the good news! Enjoy your baby! :-) nm

Good news on Lucy, the destructive dog
I have found humane society that arranges spaying/neuturing at no cost to me except for $5.00 for antibiotics the animal hospital charges. Lucy's mother tells me this morning she has decided probably best to give her up. I have found a place that rehomes animals through Petco- group of ladies- they take all animals as their own and animals can be returned once adopted, no questions asked, if they do not work out for the people. I reallly feel fortunate to have found this group of people on Craig's out of Atlanta.
Glad to hear the good news! Now.......

Okay good news first, the running will stop at some point.

My youngest (3-1/2 now) did the same thing, and my 5-year-old never did either.  I was mortified with his behavior and the worst part was my dh thought I was overreacting.  Then he took the kids to the store alone one day.  He came home and said "Wow Tommy is naughty in the store", well duh!!!! that is why I look like I have been through a battle when I get home from the store everytime.  At about 2 1/2 he started listening and got psyced about holding on to the cart with mommy, or even better riding in one of the "car carts" that they have at the supermarket.  But anywhere that he needed to sit still for I just ended up finding a babysitter until he was more calm (around 32 months).

My 5-year-old starts school this year too and she is having the same issue.  She is not a shy girl by any means, but she is soooo worried about K.  I think it is normal and I am hoping that she will be okay once she gets there and is involved in the activities.

Sorry I guess this was not really much help, except to know you are not alone.

Hey - that's great!! Nice to hear some good news (nm)

Read really good news on reverse this morning
including FHA which is for only over age 62 and which is insured. With anything people need to check these out. There are really good ones out there and thanks for bringing this up again.
I would never say it was a good thing...
but I can't believe how much attention this whole thing is getting.  The poor woman's life was a train wreck, which, unfortunately, is what made her famous.  But at least this has overshadowed the whole astronaut in a diaper story.
not, it's not a bit much; it's a good thing...
nm
Good - that's the right thing.
These guys need to be reported before they potentially hurt someone else. At least mall security will be on the lookout for them. You may have well saved someone else's life, too. I think that was God's plan for you. The angels he sent into your life are the ones you will help save.

God bless you for doing the right thing.
good thing u were there!
Thats awesome that you saved him! good thing you were right there, its like instinct kicked in.

Good points, and that is the thing. It is not
a fix-all. Without making lifestyle changes, everyone will regain their weight back. My step-mom had the surgery and is over the 100-pound mark for the weight she has lost. She has cut out all breads from her diet, desserts, etc. She has made huge diet changes since, and that is why she is losing the weight and keeping it off. She also consumes a lot of protein. She has done fantastic with it though. My friend's sister had it and is having a lot of complications, but she has not followed the recommendations for after surgery either. Her son had it and has done great and is keeping the weight off.
Good. and weight is not the only thing--sm
that causes the conditions mentioned. I have a big kitty too, and he really does not eat that much, but a mixture of one small 4 oz can of wet and perhaps about 1/2 c of dry per day. he is just a big cat, weighing 14 pounds at last visit. He is very timid and does not do much for play or exercise. Sometimes kitties are just big, like humans, and it is not always diet that makes them that way. I, too, would be very apprehensive in changing pet food right now. I love my kitties too and so far, am thankful that their food has not been one that has been recalled. Changing vets is easier than changing doctors, but if you are not happy, then move on. Personally, if one tried to give an attitude of forcefulness with me, vet or doctor, I would be gone in a heart beat. You may find a much nicer one down the road. Give your kitty a pet and mommy knows best. lol.
good one. I was thinking the same thing! sm
I would either put up with it or try exercise before I would resort to any type of surgical procedure for vanity sake. I have seen on TV programs concerning this, just how the doctors treat their patients when they are under anesthesia. NO THANKS!
Employers ought to know a good thing when they have one

I have poured over Craigslist today and the spelling is something else. I had several days to go through as I have been on holiday. What is happening with the English now? This is what I found: Bambu table, bronz bed, bump beds (can you believe that?), sley bed, camping cott, talbe (that was spelled 4 times that way in the description), marlbe table, Asain (that, too, was spelled that way several times in the description), bed ajusts to queen, mohogoney desk, matress and I think this was the best yet -  sowing machine (sewing). Unbelievable but these were actual spellings. Bless their hearts!

Decided the same thing at age 40 - good for you!
Of course, people did not like the abrupt change I made and it made many angry, but you know what? I do not care. I am a good wife, daughter, sister, and friend, but I refuse to be a doormat to anyone. Life is too short!
Well then I guess it is a good thing that ...sm
close minded people like you don't run our country then. Go do some research before you make comments. A pit bull is a dog like any other. They are steretyped as being vicious because some people fight them. I do not agree with fighting any breed of dog including pit bulls. Those fighting pits are TRAINED to do that. They are not born that way. Some won't even fight after being trained to. I used to have a Yorkie that was a little fellow but he was 10 times meaner than my pit. Actually I will tell you how nice the pit was. With his size he could have easily killed the yorkie. Well the yorkie was constantly growling and biting the pit and one day just reached up and bit him square on the balls. The pit turned around and just looked at him. He could have torn the little fellow apart but he didn't. Now would a unstable mean dog be that calm? You need to rethink your comments. You are way off the mark.
Good luck to you. I think you are doing the right thing. NM

Nope, but probably would be a good thing!
Just kidding but I love my dentist- he is so funny he makes me laugh all the time while I am having a root canal done! I love his office help also. I only wish I could find a PCP that I really enjoyed as much then all would be good in my world. I do not dread going to the dentist like I once did. He is a trip!!
Started being alone at an early age, good thing now with this job but
probably my favorite thing was going over to a small creek to catch frogs, tadpoles (tried to grow those to make frogs), caught salamanders, found dead snake and put it in alcohol in a jar, caught beetles and gave them as a present for my mother (she came in from work to discover all her lipsticks out on the counter and when she opened her little box, there was my present). She like to have killed me on that one! I loved to catch June bugs and fly them around. I have wonderful, wonderful memories of these things and sorta found lots to do just with me and me alone- good thing I did now with the work I do, right? I could still hibernate in my home for a week and not be bothered at all- love my own company.
Definitely not a good thing to use that tape, in my opinion. But! sm
You can do a lot of other fun things! I hung a few witches, a scarecrow, a black cat, pumpkins on the brick outside and will go and get hay, etc. in a few days to decorate with.
