MSG

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone has given.  I'm sure they will be very helpful.  I never knew you could marinate meat in salad dressing.  I am so lost when it comes to cooking, it is SO frustrating.

As far as the MSG, I also stay away from products which have it because of the many serious effects it has on your health.  I can tell when I have eaten MSG because I either get a headache, heart palpitations, or GI distress/diarrhea.  It's sad because MSG seems to add a lot of flavor to foods and many things in the supermarket I would like to buy contain it.  Those boxed meals/quick dinner things have it, Stove Top Stuffing, just about every canned soup, cheese puffs, the list goes on and on...

It's getting kind of tough to know which products contain MSG however, because the manufacterers are now using different names for it on the labels, so if you don't know these various names it will be impossible to detect from the lable.

Thanks again everyone and, of course, more suggestions for chicken/steak are always appreciated!
