Micturition syncope

With some people, blood pressure rises when a full bladder is held, and falls sharply on micturition. My sister watched it happen with her elderly home care patient, and thought the lady was dying. There are some things that can help, but I don't remember what all... Hope your DR is helpful.

Anyone have experience with micturition syncope?
I found my husband in the middle of the bathroom floor today passed out.  He did this once before and the doctor seemed to think it was micturition syncope (syncope during or immediately after urinating).  Luckily, he fell in my extra full laundry basket and avoided a head injury.  He doesn't remember even walking to the bathroom.  Before, the doctor seemed to brush this off as a minor incident and nothing to be worried about.  He has an appointment tomorrow with his GP for his problem today.  This seems to be more common in older men.  My husband is 38.  Any thoughts or like/same experiences?
