I woke up this morning to my husband telling me that we are expected to see snow today. sm
I got up and said, "what??" And there it was - on the news. In the little left hand corner of the t.v. is a sight I've never seen since living here (over 10 years). Our area covered in white!!! We are in the deep south, 2 hours north of the FL border. The forecaster says it's gonna snow today!!! It's been raining all morning, a very cold rain, but apparently there is a system coming our way and it will change to snow in the afternoon! I can't believe it. I've been planning trip after trip to take the boys (I have 3 small ones) to see snow. They've only seen snow on Nickoledeon. My 5 year old doesn't even own a winter coat, only pullovers, etc. I've been digging in the closet looking for matching gloves and made sure there are plenty of batteries in the camera (it's run dead before during a major event). Can y you tell how excited I am? I can't believe it.
I've been praying for this and asking God for it to snow. He knew my heart! Every trip I've planned to go and take my kids to see snow hasn't worked out for one reason or another. Maybe this is why......I really hope the weatherman is right.....I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just as you did. I have found in my life that everyone has to listen to me and take me seriously if I use no profanity what so ever (and don't yell). Of course you should be upset, your child was assaulted by a bully. I'd be all over that like white on rice!!! Call her up, make her feel lousy for raising such a brute of a daughter. Praise your child for being so wonderful. Unfortunately, all we can tell our little ones is that the world is full of mean, angry others and we are so blessed to not have to behave that way. Count your blessings for your sweet son, just love him and hug him all that much more.

Something needs to be done. I heard Bill O'Reilly call child molesters evil....boy is that right. It has been proven over and over and over again that these folks cannot be 'rehabilitated'. They are sick - evil sick - and need to be separated from society. I cannot imagine being a parent of a child who has been hurt by one of these people. I live in the Pittsburgh area and just yesterday an 11 year old girl was literally snatched off the sidewalk near her home, raped and then dumped in another town. That poor child is changed for life due to the evilness in the heart and mind of someone else. sad sad sad
This year both kids get nada
Kids are 30 and 14 (both live elsewhere). I usually get them expensive presents for major holidays. The eldest often whines that "nobody ever does that for her but me" - well, DUH, perhaps its because she refuses to reciprocate in any way! Both kids ignored me last Christmas, and they ignored my birthday (2 weeks after). I informed both of them that this year they get nada on either occasion, and its not about the money, its about making the SLIGHTEST attempt to make MY day special TOO, as I actually have feelings (who'd a thunk it?). IF they can bear to pick up the phone and merely call me on either occasion this year, or throw a cheap card in the mail, I will resume giving them gifts, if not, I'm through!

My throat felt a little scratchy yesterday and I wondered if it was allergies. But today it is full-blown cold sxs. I was supposed to go out and about today, but I have been relegated to sitting like a zombie in front of the computer. At least I have made a little $ while doing so.
Among my friends and their kids, much worse stuff has been going around and I never caught it. I guess I should feel fortunate that *ALL* I have is this.
son woke up with bumps on his forehead
my 5 year old son has been awake for about an hour...he came to me and said his brother hit him and in addressing this issue I noticed he has a fine rash all over his forehead, on part of his right eye and down to the temple area, not going past the eye area itself. they are only flesh colored bumps, looks kind of like acne that does not erupt, is not red or itchy. What in the world could this be? I have not done anything out of the ordinary, no new shampoos or detergents. anybody got an idea?

one morning and said he had a nightmare. He dreamt that there was a fleet of UPS trucks outside the house, down the road....poor guy.. LOL Had to stop shopping lately....going through withdrawal. Wish me luck...lol

Luv the snow here. Woke up to "no school"
which was great since my son did not get home last night from a drama competition until after 2:00. My dog barks at the snow falling from the trees, cute at first but then goes on and on and on. Snow really gets me in the holiday spirit. Joy To The World!!!!!
Have had a cough for a week - woke up last night w severe arm pain, all the way down
I have been coughing and kind of achy, yesterday hurt all over, no fever, but in the middle of the night last night, woke up with horrible pain, to the point of making me cry all the way from my shoulder to the joints in my hands. Both shoulder joints are sore, but the right arm hurts all the way down. I have taken Advil, used muscle rub and am working with my arm propped on a pillow. Anyone ever had this happen? Wondering if it is just muscle pain from being sick or if I got something out of whack in my cervical spine from all the coughing!! This stinks!!!
What do you think of the quality of clothing today. What I looked at shopping today in nice stores
the stuff wasnt even sewn properly. Do you have to look at everything you buy or just hope it lasts a year.

I'm in Upstate NY and it's in the mid-70's here. I think this morning the low was in the high 50's. Brrr to you.
That is way down in lower manhattan
If you are going to South St. Seaport and are staying in Midtown, you might want to plan other things in that area while you are there. If you like Latin food, there is a restaurant called Cabana at South Street Seaport. Reasonable for lunch but expensive for dinner. It is on second floor and overlooks harbor. Also the downtown alliance has a free shuttle that takes you around lower manhattan. you get on and off at various points. http://www.downtownny.com/gettingaround/?sid=19
That way you can do Staten Island Ferry, ground zero, Brooklyn bridge, etc., and not get lost walking around in lower manhattan. It is not laid out like a grid down there and gets very confusing.
My daughter plans on going to college in NYC so we go often. Have a great time. Don't be afraid of the subway. It is a great experience. Going back to NYC in August. Cannot wait.

I have one on the right side of my lower
abdomen, only see it in swimsuit. Really wanted one on the back of my shoulder, but decided not to get one that would show when I was "dressed up." My ex told me I could NEVER have one, so when we divorced that is the first thing I did!!!!
Lower it - 21 is too high
1. Three years is not a huge difference.
2. Most kids are drinking earlier than 21 anyway and nobody is enforcing the law when they get caught drinking under age.
3. It was 18 when I was 18 and there was not a high incidence of drunk driving or whatever reason they have for a drinking age.
4. Germany there is no drinking age and they do not have a high rate of drunk drivers (they have one of the lowest rates of any country).
5. If they are not going to lower the drinking age they should then raise the age of joining the military. Someone tell me that it makes sense that they can't drink til their 21, but at 18 years old in the military they are given guns and can use them.
Some kids will be responsible and some kids won't. I know a lot of people who are in their 20s and 30s and older who are very irresponsible when it comes to drinking - btw, I am 48 years old, not 18, 19, or 20 (and just want the age lowered) :-)
Your lower teeth
in the front ... have your gums eroded in back of the teeth as well? Mine look fairly normal in front of the teeth, but behind them (especially bottom front teeth), I can see the gums are quite receded. I have one of those little dental mirrors. I am wondering why they would be worse in the back, as I think I brush the same way there.
If the houses around you are crap, your value will also be lower than it should be.

If you suffer from lower back pain
or arthritis like me, you may want to try the SALONPAS pain relieving patch. Works great! Relatively inexpensive. Comes in different sizes. Search Google for credit info center they have great advice there.
Try to negotiate for a lower APR yourself first.
First call and threaten to cancel, (but do not cancel if they don't help!) and that might get you a lower APR.
If that fails write or call back,you have to say the word "hardship" to them to really work with you if you are not 60 days past due...that is the magic word. Their hardship plan and CCCS looks the same on your credit report, at least you control it by doing it yourself.

I have been at roadside stands and never smelled them cooking nor saw them but mostly you see in stores like food depot. I know of no one who uses them. I am sure that various parts of the country have other foods that could turn a person's stomach. I remember a supposed pepperoni pizza I had 1 time in Buffalo and the tomatoes on it were whole like uncooked. Yuck for that. Everyone has a yuck I am sure.
My daughter is 35 years old and has been having pain in left lower abdomen for quite some time . . .
She had a CT with oral and IV contrast and it was normal, but showed she had an enlarged uterus. Dr. called the next day and said she needs to go for ultrasound.
There is lots of cancer in the family, so my daughter is very concerned. Can any of you who have experienced this help out here. Thanks.

I had a lot of pen pals when I was in junior high. We were obligated to take German and French in 7th and 8th grade and the teachers arranged for us to get pen pals in both countries. I also ended up with one from Japan. It has been 25 years since then and I am still in contact with my pen pal from France. It is such a wonderful experience.

I found my first bat upstairs in the hayloft a few years ago...oh it was so cute and so tiny! My husband had to physically hold me back from trying to pick it up. I think it was a youngin' who just came inside to sneak a nap and decided bales of hay were a most comfy place to crash.
I pretty much try to make a grab for anything like that...which is totally not normal, I know.
Spiders though...well, if I see a spider, no matter how teeny, I do that thing...what's it called..."vagal."  I'm like a fainting goat when it comes to spiders for some reason. Pass right the frig out and poo myself. Not too proud of that, but there ya have it, so I can totally understand someone else's phobias for sure!

My daughter is turning 21 July of next year and that's what I'm doing for her.
We travel about 200 miles down the road to see a pro game series usually 2 or 3 times a season, but only once this year... $$$ is low :(
We are already starting to save and plan for her 21st. She's really excited. It would be SO awesome if Carl Crawford or Rocco Baldelli yelled happy birthday to her from the outfield.

First as a mom who adopted her first son when he was 9, I say congratulations to you all. What a special blessing it is. Your daughter has probably already met all of your relatives, but we made a special photo album with all of the extended relatives in it and labeled each one so that he had an album of his new family. We also had a photo album of the adoption procedure with pics of all of us with the judge and pics of Anthony behind the judges desk and such. We had a great judge, who let us take our time and take as many pics as we wanted. We also planted a tree in the back yard as a reminder of adoption day, which we celebrate each year just like it was a birthday. Also we bought a special frame for the adoption certificate and it is hanging in our living room in a very prominent place. Something that we thought about after the fact and never did was to take out an adoption anouncement in the paper, just like a baby anouncement.
Just some of the ideas that we used, praying that you have a joyous and blessed life with your new sweetheart.

It was really cool. . I felt like I was witnessing a miracle - which, of course, birth is. . I doubt very many people get to see something like that - It definitely made my day!
