Needing a hug
Lost a family pet yesterday.  Found my 9-year-old cat lying dead on the floor.  Don't know what happened to him.  He was mostly an outdoor cat, and he outlasted the usual lifespan of most outdoor cats, so I'm thankful for all the years we did have with him.  We'd found him abandoned along the roadside when he was probably only about 8 weeks old.  How do they manage to wrap themselves around your heart and inflict such pain when it's their time to go?
Also needing a car soon
Also interested in others' thoughts on cars; have a ྜྷ that is now burning oil, converter (2nd) is going, etc.  Trying to hang in there till a couple of debts are paid off before taking on a payment. Keep hearing how the auto industry is in trouble but can't tell that from the prices, including certified used.
Needing meds
I think just the opposite - it's the rest of you who could use the meds - or at least not be so judgemental - but I have found that this board - regardless of the subject has quite a few very rude, mean and just downright B***tchy women - sorry if you were offended, but it was my right to BF as long as I chose - and until you work hard enough to get a law passed against it - it's something you must deal with - I think that most of you are jealous of the fact that this is not something that you could do - or wanted to do - maybe you are feeling jealous because my kids are great - we have great relationships and maybe your kids don't even speak to you unless they need money - Most of you would give anything to have a family as close and functional as mine.  However, it is something that you will never know.  God has been very good to us - and thankfully I followed his Word and not yours.
Needing help with things?

Going back to the housekeeper subject, I found this neat site www.domystuff.com

It lets you post what you need done and people place bids for getting the work and then you can rate them and see their ratings.

I'm going to give this a try and thought I would share!

275 isn't that huge either - Now 475, I could see needing sm
a non-human MRI machine but 275? There are football players who fit that description.
needing money
Interpretation:

You would like to tap the child support unpaid, but riding in the car is a big watch your wallet warning, and the $2 is about what you will be getting out of ex.

You will have to find something else to hock besides your kid.
Sounds really young and needing
attention as maybe not getting it from hubby or the wrong kind. Anybody paying attention would probably make her feel better but definitely wrong in her case, married and should take with a grain of salt, in other words don't take a flirt seriously.
Migraines, anyone? Needing information
Have friend with migraines. She was told by her physician since she takes birth control pills she cannot be prescribed something for the headaches. Anyone know anything about this? TIA
Have an older furkid needing to fatten her up
I have an older girl (cat) who takes medicine for her thyroid and also something to stimulate her appetite. She is eating like a pig but she is skin and bones. In our years she would probably be in her early 90s. She stays more at the feeding station than my other 2 younger boys and yet she is some thin and bony. I do not want to have anyone say, well take her to the vet because she has been there when she had a stroke, doing fine from that, and I would not want him to say end of life, put her to sleep because she, I feel is truly in no pain, no crying out, no wimpering, only unsteady a little on her feet and so thin. Does anyone who have furkids have any suggestions to foods or whatever I could give her to fatten her up some? She is so tiny, bony and pitiful but she is still my little baby. Thanks a lot!
you might be interested in this. I have a feeling we'll all be needing it.

Needing some gift ideas for seniors....
Using the ole brain and trying to come up with either male or female gift items. Having dinner at my home and playing some simple games like White Elephant so I need to get about 3 gifts for the prizes. No toiletries (spelling?), thought about gift card for restaurant already, any ideas? Thanks.
Ok, needing answers about furkids - baths to be exact
I have 2 boys- 1 has been bathed here recently and knows the ropes- he has a brother who is wild and hairy and has not had a bath in quite some time. Can anyone tell me- (and don’t tell me carefully!! ) how do you restrain a cat for a bath?
Needing A Mental/Emotional Jump Start
You good people are probably as good to ask as anybody although if we had a philosophy board, it might be better. My question is Why? Why are we killing ourselves? And I mean this in the broader sense than just the MT industry. I have an ex (46 years old) who is an alcoholic. He lives waaaaaaay out in a very rural area. He owns his own house, land, and a lot of horses, something he acquired 20 years ago when he had a really really good job. He has a regular income now of about $1000/month from CDs, primarily funded from an industrial accident about 10 years ago.

Anyway, neither he nor any of his friends work. They sit around, start drinking at noon and light their first joint, and just drink steadily until passing out around 2 AM. They play horseshoes, cribbage, shoot pool, shoot the breeze, joy ride, poach deer, etc. His house is kind of a dump (jiggle the toilet handle, turn on the tub water with pliers, no windows that open) and lots of projects undertaken while drunk, some done, many half finished. As they say, the Lord provides for fools and drunks, and that seems to be the case here, as he never goes hungry, has never had to do without his vices because of money, etc. Somehow, something always falls into his lap when he needs it, and I'm not talking $20...he'll rent a chunk of land to a farmer for several K and gets all caught up, or he sells some old fencing and gets a grand. He bought a couple of timeshares years and years ago so he takes these great vacations a couple of times a year where the lodging is only $150/week.

I had to leave because I just couldn't stand the lifestyle (I don't drink, smoke pot, or shoot pool), but I'm wondering why. I'm killing myself working 2 jobs to keep the roof over my head and maintain even a meager quality of life, and while I don't have the drunken projects he does, my house is no palace. If it weren't for my kids chipping in and helping, my car would have been reclaimed by the finance company a couple months ago.

So I'm having a hard time hanging on to my motivation lately. There's probably some jealousy involved, but it's also making me wonder why I bother. If I really wanted to, he would probably take me back and there are moments that I wonder 'Why not?'. What is wrong with the way he is living? Footloose and fancy free without a care in the world?

How do you find the strength/will to go on plugging away when it would be so easy to fall into the idiot/drunk category and just the Lord take care of everyday existence like he does for the ex?
When you say under the skin?
Do you mean you take off the skin, put the mixture, and then replace the skin?  Like I said, I'm an newbie with turkeys, so I have to clarify.  thx so much!
Dry skin
I have that problem with many products too and my skin isn't dry to begin with but rather oily. Sometimes I am not sure which problem is more embarrasing, the scaly dry skin or the acne.

I haven't had that problem with product though, even when I use it multiple days in a row.
SKIN
Try the "cracked heel" cream made for your feet. I've tried almost every cream made. Also put a finger cot (you, know they look like mini-condoms) from the drugstore over a Band-Aid over the cream. Use the Band-Aids that are made for fingertips and are stretchy and flexible. Put oodles of cream on when you go to bed. Just grease, grease, grease as much as you can. Protect the split as much as possible. If all else fails, try a regular medical finger splint. Idea is to grease and protect so it will heal - kind of hard to do when you use it to make a living, I know! I live in Maine and it happens to me with our low temps, and these all help. Good luck. Rosie

I would second the 2nd skin. (s/m)
I have lots of friends who do serious road-skating: Downhill runs in the middle of the night, inline marathon races, etc. A bad 'road rash' is basically a burn, (except with some asphalt and rocks 'n' stuff in it!). Most of them swear by 2nd Skin. Allowing it to dry out and scab not only makes it much more painful, but it seems to heal with more of a scar. One time I got a knee & elbow rash at the same time, and allowed the knee to scab, and kept the elbow moistened and covered with a nonstick telfa pad and wrapped that with gauze. It not only healed faster than the knee, but the scar is barely visible. I thought that was the best I could do, but my Xtreme skater friends tipped me off about 2nd Skin. I plan to get some and keep it on hand for next time. There is ALWAYS a 'next time'!
Dry skin on my furkids
I took my big furboy to get his coat taken care of and was told he has dry skin and I should try some olive oil in the food. I used about half teaspoon between the 2 small cans that I give my kids and they are not just liking that. The lady had said I could possibly use a vitamin E on his skin but tried the olive oil first. Anyone with any similar problems and ideas? Thanks
RoC skin care
Anyone use RoC skin care?  If so, did it burn when you first began using it.  It does say that it may burn a bit when first starting out, so I only use it qod, but geeze, my face is warm feeling.  Think maybe it's partly my imagination, but just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if so, how long it lasted.  Thanks y'all!
Since when does humidity cut down on the dry skin?
Our humidity here in southern Georgia runs very, very high and I have to use special soap on my face especially because if not I dry out so badly, like flaking skin on eyelids, face, around the nose area. I myself just don't know how it should or does help.
I use it for extremely dry skin -
have a spray of it that I use on my arms legs, feet right after a shower when still a little damp, and I love it. It helps more than several lotions.
skin diseases
onychomycosis

head lice

ring worm
I had a friend who had skin reduction
for her arms and the so-called plastic surgeon measured one arm and took the same amount out for both arms. This left a gaping wound that the dodo couldn't close. Mind you the incision was the length of her upper arm. Grrrrr.
That's what I found. Not for older skin.

Moh's procedure for skin cancer

Put on some thick skin....my gosh,
everyone is so touchy here lately....my opinion is allowed and it does not have to agree with yours! We still can have our own opinions in this country, can't we?
My grandmother used olive oil for everything, especially for her skin
and when she wanted to give herself a facial, she would combine oatmeal and egg whites - i remember how funny she used to look doing that but that woman had the most beautiful skin.  For conditioning her hair, she used mayonnaise that she made herself and to protect her hair during the winter months she used avocado and olive oil - after washing her hair she would as she said ' scoop to goop' onto her hair, wrap it with a warm towel for ten minutes and rinse it out thoroughly.  She never ever used soap on her face - she used to tell me and my sisters (there are five of us) that soap is the worst thing for a woman's skin...to clean her face she used cold cream (Jergen's and some other kind I can't recall now) but it worked.  As an astringent she used witch hazel with a bit of tea tree oil and for scars which was got a lot being little, after they healed over really well she would have us rub a lemon rind with a teeny bit of lemon on it over our skin - it does fade small scars.  I tell you, stuff that grams used worked before all of this fancy schmancy manfactured stuff; and I still use a lot of her ideas to this day..
Dead skin floating around.
I thought about that last night as I was sitting at a restaurant. The light was shining through the window just right and I could see all sorts of dust particles in the air. To think that is settling on my food. Kinda gross.
I had a problem with severe dry skin patches also....

I found this Super E Natural vitamin E ointment for $5.00 at my local drug store and it went away almost immediately.  Hope you find something that helps!

I am always cold, i know my temps are usually 97s range, and low BP. my hair comes out by the handfuls if i brush or shampoo. thanks for your explaination. i am going to see if i can't get it and get my levels checked again.
Does Elidel work on very dry skin on the face?
An
I am nearly as bad as he sounds as far as having highly sensitive skin -
I get a red, itchy welt if a mosquito even lands on me. I have also been bitten by horseflies. My doc has recommended just Benadryl lotion on the offending bite and then 2 of the pills. I also put ice on my skin to help with the swelling and itching. You might try this before you take him in. Best of luck. :-)
removing hair color from skin
Believe it or not, a hairdresser I went to used either some sort of burning chemical OR a paste of ashes!!!  Had to rub a little harder, but I liked it better than the chemical!
Ohh, Cetaphil, try their soap for dry and sensitive skin!
Wonderful products!
i take hair, skin & nails w/biotin.

home skin care for wrinkles sm
Sun worshiper all my life; now my face looks like a roadmap of wrinkles. I am trying to lose a little weight but know this will make the wrinkles even worse. I cannot afford the fancy dancy stuff at the cosmetic counter. Have tried a few from Garnier, Olay, Ponds, but they do not work. I exfoliate with honey and sugar mask, moisturize, etc., still there! TIA

On your neck, could be skin tags instead of moles
I would never bother moles but have had skin tags removed. They are the little fleshy protuberances that appear, especially around your neck. I had some clipped at the dermatologist's office and clipped 1 at my home with small scissors but the one I did at home was sorta painful. As you age they start showing up and they do return.
GREAT post - gotta be happy in yer own skin!!

I like Bare Minerals makeup and Arbonne skin care
I don't like to look like I have makeup on and the Bare Minerals helps me accomplish that. The Arbonne skin care is pricey, but to me well worth it - I took a year break from it and went back! I absolutely love the Sephora website!
Anyone ever have skin tags removed? Did they come back? Mine are making me crazy!! nm

It's only a teeny weeny piece of skin, for heaven's sake, get real! nm

Its not a little piece of skin - read up on it. It plays a lot of important functions. Google it.
You just need to look around for some FACTS about the foreskin. It protects the glans, keeps the glans sensitive, plays a role in sexual activity, enhances the sexual experience for men, should I go on......Why don't you just read up on it?
Creams make me itch even more, what I have used is Aveeno skin relief body wash, not the packets
you dissolve in the water, but the actual wash that costs anywhere between $6-7 depending on where you live and was with that 2-3 times a day.  You can try that too and see if it helps her any.

and hypoallergenic.  Works very well on those burp-up stains, ya know, the ones with Poly-Vi-Sol vitamins.

I don't suppose many of you are old enough to remember cloth diapers and diaper pins, plastic pants that went over them to contain leakage, Dreft detergent or 20 Mule Team Borax and heaven forbid knowing how to clean them!  Ask your grandmothers how it was done.  And you think you have it rough with disposable diapers!  Cat
