Has he ever been on last comic standing?
His name sounds so familiar. Not sure what CMT is though.
Any country music fans out there?
I have just recently started listening to country (I love just about all kinds of music except rap) and I totally love the song and video from Gretchen Wilson "Come to Bed" almost makes me want to pick a fight with my hubby.
Do you own a television?
She is EVERYWHERE, sort of like a parasite. lol
The best show on television by far..
well written, fabulous actors. I am Italian and I am obsessed with the show...love the mob aspect of it, have all 6 seasons on DVD. Will miss my Sunday nights with the family...HBO is out of our house after this season, although I do like Big Love too.
Our local television station always has a
Deal or Dud segment on items from tv ads. They featured the Pedi Paws last month and had some local dog groomers/vets try them out. It got a Deal - thumbs up. Everyone was very pleased with it. Going to get my dog one for Christmas!
As a Christian I have to stick up for Pat Roberts and television sm
evangelists. They work hard for their money. They earned their money. If you don't believe in what they are doing, then don't give any. Plain and simple.
After Katrina hit, Pat Roberts and his ministry set up camp down there and helped thousands of people (I saw it first-hand), which leads me to believe that the camps he leads in Africa and Asia, etc., must be real. He "take" other people's money and then distributes it where he feels led. What business is it of yours if that is what he is called to do? And why do you think he has to live in a shack because he is a t.v. evangelist. God is an excellent God and is not sloppy. He wants Christians to live in the Promised Land, full of riches and honey (it is clearly in the Bible). It is called God's blessings. You should read up on it.
I'm sick and tired of Christians and nonChristians who think that just because you live in a big house or drive a fancy car that you are not entitled to it because you are an evangelist. Pat makes money by writing BOOKS and speaking engagements, too, which earns you A LOT of money. Bill Clinton earned 38,000,000 in speaking engagements after his first year of leaving the oval office.

Our pastor who leads a very large congregation, lives in a gated community and drives a Mercedes. I love the guy! What an example! Hey, I'd be worried if he preached the Gospel and about living in the Promise Land and lived in a trailer behind on his auto payments. Please. He travels the country, has written several books and also sells real estate, ON TOP of his large ministry.

Soooo many people are totally misinformed about t.v. evangelists. Just because they are asking for money they think that all the money coming in goes to furnish their lavish lifestyle. I have done my research. That is NOT TRUE!! They make their money in a lot of other ways.

Pat is a rich guy, but he certainly does not make it through giving. Neither does Joel Osteen who pastors a church of 20,000 people. He has a median salary and lives in a mansion.

So, quit being so sick and tired of these t.v. evangelists and all that they have. Have you ever thought for a SECOND that God has blessed them IMMENSELY because they faithfully serve Him and obey His word? God blesses those HE chooses.

Peace to you.
It's a comic book. What's next, a barbie doll?

Reminds me of those ads which have always run in the back of comic books or magazines
Ever since I was little, the same ad still runs, I think it is for a learn at home program it says:
"Become a Medical Transcriptionist in your spare time. Earn over 25K a year." I am not kidding this one has been running in the back of magazines and comic books forever. I think it also says, "learn by typing doctor's tapes." They never update it. So, we make the same as we would have 15 years ago... but then again, that might be true considering we never get a cost of living raise... hmmmm.
I hear the new comic book about her is called iconic
Sold out already. People are really admiring her and her husband both. Heard other countries now instead of being the dictators they were, now listening when her husband speaks. I am proud of them both.
I think the last two standing will be

Melinda Doolittle and Jordin Sparks.

And I think Phil will wind up in the country music field after he is done with the Navy.

JMO!

Standing up for myself.

I had to live with an aunt during my high school years.  She always loved to keep kids but always had a problem with the mothers because she claimed they never disciplined their children.  She is a firm believer in spankings and tries to enforce it into other young mothers.  I always rolled my eyes ignored it because I figured the mothers would eventually find another babysitter.  She also kept foster kids but got them taken away for some reason.  She said a kid claimed she was beating them too much and the blank blank State believed the kid over her.   I was already in high school when I lived with her so she never touched me, just yelled at me a lot and I kept in my room until I was able to move out on my own.

Anyway, H likes to talk to her husband and seems to like to go visit.  We visit maybe once a month.  We have 2 children ages 2 and 6.  If they are talking loudly or laughing loudly she threatens them with a flyswatter. She has gotten the flyswatter out and gave it to me to spank them, which I did not.  She also gets offended and threatens them if they sit on the couch too close together.  She tells me that her kids never acted as bad as mine because she carried a hairbrush or a flyswatter everywhere they went and spanked them with it all the time.  She also claims that her DILs are lazy, wimpy and stoopid because their kids misbehave and they don't spank them enough or hard enough, just barely pats them.  Lazy, wimpy and stoopid is actually a nicer way of putting it then what she actually said.  She started in on one of her DILs at a family gathering and got a whole plate of food her face.   She is so proud of herself because she raised 3 boys and spanked them all the time.  Maybe they behaved well as children but the are now adults with issues.  One is an alcoholic and never comes to visit, one is dead (car accident drunk), the other drinks a lot and cannot seem to wipe his own tail.   What if the next time she hands me a flyswatter, can I swat her with it?   Just tell her that she was the one who taught me how to handle people who get out of line.  Seriously, I really should say something when it happens but I just leave, then go home and stew.  I am way too much of a pushover and don't know how to get out of that.

Maybe I am out of line but I cannot understand why someone would take it upon themselves to decide how and when to discipline someone else's kid and try to enforce their method parenting on someone else.  H and I take full responsibility for our children financially, getting them to school,  babysitters (which makes her mad, why pay someone else, she needs the money).  We never depend on her for anything with the girls.

My 6-year-old does not really get in trouble in school that much except for talking.  The teachers say she at the top of her class and an advanced student.  The daycare has yet to say anything negative about my 2-year-old's  behavior and she has been in there since she was 6 weeks old.  They cannot be as bad as she is insinuating they are.   H just says, well if it bothers you that much we won't go over there anymore but he doesn't understand why I am so upset, he thinks I should just let it go.

it also bothers me that she is going around town telling everyone how my kids are unruly and I don't do anything to discipline them. My boss has told me how derogatory she has been toward us, her children and grandchildren that she does not even like to talk to her.

Just have him standing close would
tell me if he were smoking, it would be obvious. I don’t think I would probably buy the friend story. I probably would have spoke up and said well let me have his number and I will call him so he can come and get…
Who do you predict will be the last three standing sm.
I think it will be Adam, Allison and Danny in that order. I think Adam will win , but Allison is my favorite.  What do you think? I also think Anoop and Matt will go home next week but I am hoping maybe Lil and Matt.
I have a standing breakfast date...
every Thursday morning with 3 friends.  Weekends are mostly family time.  My oldest son always comes home from school on Friday night, so we Netflix.  This weekend, we were supposed to play paintball, but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate.
It is NEVER okay to fail standing up for your kids.
Get some kind of back bone about yourself, will ya.

My so-call "friend" is always standing me up - SM
My husband and I have, or should I say HAD this really good friend that we have known for about 6 or 7 years. We used to do almost everything together (go shopping, go to movies, out to dinner, etc.) For the past several months, we have invited her over to our house on MULTIPLE occasions for dinner, coffee, etc., and she usually tells us that she will be coming over, and even gives us an approximate time frame as to what time she will be here (it's always the same time in the evening). She has stood us up EVERY TIME for the past several months! We try calling and text messaging her when it gets to be a little after the time when she said she would be here, but she never answers her phone or returns any text messages, EVER! We never even hear from her the next day explaining why she was a no show. On a few of the occasions, we have even made dinner for all of us because she said that she would be over for dinner, but just completely blows us off! I am so tired of this! I am done with her. She obviously is not nearly as good of a friend as we are. She even forgot my birthday this year! I don't know what's going on with her. She never used to be this bad. I mean, she has blown us off a few times in the past few years, but never this many times in a row! I'm definitely not giving this so-called "friend" the time of day anymore as we have given her multiple chances to not blow us off for once and show us that she is a true friend, but obviously she is not anymore. I just had to get that off my chest as she blew us off again last night!

I having a standing appt to view YouTube every Sunday. Best part is

the enjoyment of forwarding them to my friends for their listening pleasure.  MUSIC IS THE BEST MEDICINE, AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, NO ONE EVER COMPLAINS OF ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS OR ALLERGIC REACTIONS.

MUSIC
Don't forget (and I can't remember who sings it)...Celebrate!! I am in my 30s and we always [and still do sometimes (shh..my kids think we're weird)] like to dance to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Also, I'm not a big fan but most of the people I know like Jimmy Buffet.

Hope that helps!!
Music
Has anyone tried listening to a CD while you work??  I accidentally stumbled across this as my son was blaring some of his music.  But there are a couple of CDs of his I like I play them in the background, it helps me concentrate and improves my speed.  Am I the only weird one???
I like music as well....

I've found that it keeps you focused, but I was used to listening when I worked full-time on-site.  I am quite accustomed to background noise from when my children were young, but now that they are in school, it makes me feel "not so lonely".  I do not, however, prefer the TV blaring unless it is on a music channel.  I think it is quite soothing, and I'm not real sure why....  lol

music
I always have a CD playing in the background but it's got to be something soothing and relaxing like Enya.  Being home alone all day can be really boring and lonely without it. I find it really too quiet otherwise.
DVDs, CDs, what do they like? music, TV?

Looking for music to exercise by - sm

I received an iTunes gift card for Christmas and am looking for music I can download to my iPod to exercise by.  I'd really like exercise-specific music that includes a slower song or two for the warmup, then a steady faster rhythm for 30 minutes or so and then another slower song for the cooldown.

I suppose I could create my own list, but it would take me way too long to figure out 30 minutes' worth of songs with the same basic rhythm!

Any help sure would be appreciated.  I'm so tired of feeling guilty every time I walk past the treadmill that I just "had" to have.

Filthy rap music...
The teachers have to take turns doing "car duty" in the afternoons, making sure the car riders get in their vehicles safely. Well, yesterday, a mother pulls up with 5 of her children in tow, and had 5 more children at this elementary school where my daughter works. One of her children is in my daughter's classroom and so my daughter called her over to put her on the car. When she opened the door, she said the music playing was pure filth, and in 5 seconds, she heard the "n" word, the "b" word, the "f" word, and what this woman should wrap her legs around, if you know what I mean. Now, this "mother" of all 10 children, has the music up so loud, she doesn't even realize her door is open and the teacher is standing there with her 8 year old daughter in hand. A 12 year old in the backseat hollers out, mamma, the teachers at the door, to which the mother nearly swallowed her tongue, and quickly turns the music off. My daughter said I wanted to tell her if you're not ashamed of that filth you listen to and let your children listen to, then why turn it down on my account? She must be a proud mom letting her daughters hear that filth, degrading women to less than dirt. So, that's 10 more children and several girls who will grow up sadly with that crap music and sadly enough, the music producers making a mint off of their ignorance. Some can't afford lunch money, but they can sure darn afford a $20 CD full of filth. But, if course, when the kids are repeating this nasty lyrics in class and have to be reprimanded, I suppose the parents think that the teachers' fault too.
I don't listen to music, but I have the TV SM
on in the room next to me. Can't miss my Golden Girls. It just relaxes me and I feel like someone is here and the mood is lightened if I am stressed.
What kind of music is on your
Mine is a mixture of 60s, 70s, 80s, and everything in between.  I have Van Halen, Elton John, Fergie, George Jones...just to name a few.  My kids listen to it and can't understand the combination, but it's just music I like.  So, what's on yours? I'm looking for some suggestions to add to my collection...
Anyone download music?
I just want some songs to burn onto a CD to listen to in my car or my home stereo.  I don't have any fancy iPod or MP3 player.  My brother uses a site that does file sharing and I cannot/do not want to use a site like that.  I don't trust them!  Are there any sites that don't do file sharing?  I looked at Napster, but it won't give you the price unless you fill in all of your info (name, e-mail).  Any ideas?  Thanks!
Turn on some music (sm)

Walmart here has the music CD for $10 (sm)
Not sure if they have the actual cartoon...I love how it puts the season back in the right perspective. I also think the fact that I have been watching it around Christmas since I was a kid has something to do with it helping me feel "Christmasy". The CD is really good though-I've seen the cartoon so many times I can picture it while I'm listening to the music and doing other things.
At least you've got music - LOL (nm)

Downloading music

You have to download the music to your computer, then you can save it on the CD.  I use an iPod, but they do have restrictions.  IPods are set up as MP4 files rather than MP3, so you can't transfer the music back and forth from an iPod to say, a Zune.  I love the iPod and iTunes, though.  I'm big on the instant gratification aspect of being able to download the music, movies, and TV shows that I want.  I have 2 iPod Video and I use them both quite a bit.

About the free music - I don't know about those.  It's my understanding that any free music site is basically illegal (I could be wrong, though).  I've always paid for mine, so I don't know much about it.

Any Music lovers out there?
My anniversary was last week, and I had no idea what to get my husband, so I made him a guitar pick necklace. He really liked it and I had two or three people ask me to make them one, so I decided I would make some and see if people liked them. Here's a picture of a few I made.

If anyone's interested let me know! Or if you have any ideas! I went to Micheal's this weekend and bought a bunch of goodies so I'll be making more!

How do you get your neighbor to keep the music down
This is very frustrating for us. There is a degenerate 16-year-old kid next door (bully of the neighborhood). When his parents are not home (or at least we believe they are not home) he sits outside and plays music (if that's what you call it) in his car radio. It vibrates inside the house and all we can hear is THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP. DH has asked him over and over and over to keep the noise down, and he turns it down, that is until the next day or two. I was thinking of asking our police to come by and explain to him and his family of a noise ordinance in this town, but they've cut back so much in police don't think they would do that. - Okay as I'm writing DH just got so p.o.'d he flew out the door and is going asking him to keep it down, but this will only last for the day.

Anyone have any suggestions? Have concerns about getting his parents involved cos the last lady who told him to do something he muttered under his breath (not loud enough for her to hear, but we heard him) "Shut the F up or I'll come and kill you".

Okay, another part of the story. DH just came in and evidently the mother is home. DH was going to say something but the kid was out in front with his little gang friends and he said to his mother "hey mom, the people down around the corner just complained about the music. How could she hear it all the way down there. We were here first so they can move. I think I'll go down and pee on her lawn". So...evidently the mother does know. DH just looked at him and didn't say anything and the degenerate walked over to the car and turned down the music.

Any suggestions.

Do you listen to music while you work?? (sm)
I do sometimes if I get sleepy or if my mind starts to wander.  Not anything with words that I would pay attention to, mostly just music, fast paced helps me type faster - anyone else? Just curious
I LIKE e-cards... animation, music, etc.
card as long as it has a written message with it, and not just a mass-produced 'newsletter'. If no personal note comes with it, the sender just wasted a stamp.
