Do you think some restaurants might recycle some food stuffs such as
Biscuits, chips and salsa ,rice or anything that comes back to the kitchen that looks untouched!!Have you ever noticed anything that may come to your table that looks like it may have been warmed over?We have !Hubby found a chip that someone had dippedin the salsa and it was in out basket!!We know this young fellow that worked at a restaurant and he said they recycled the rolls that were in the baskets!!Do yall think this could happen.
If you do WW, go to www.dwlz.com - all the points are there for food and restaurants.
.
Did you try calling around locally?
df
Perhaps it would be better to offer your help locally - SM
What you are doing is wonderful and I can easily understand that you must be selective in helping those who are in real need.

At the same time, you must understand that people are not accustomed to running into true Good Samaritans who have no personal "agenda", so they would understandably be reluctant to provide intimate details of their financial situation to a total stranger, however well intentioned. If "What's the catch?" is their first reaction, it's only natural. Sadly, there have been a lot of scams that have been circulating in the form of "assistance".

By working locally (perhaps through a church or social agency), you can be thoroughly satisfied that you aren't being scammed by someone with a slick story, or someone who would misuse the money, and the recipient of your kindness can be confident of your good intentions.

You're truly a rare bird in this jungle of life. Don't take it amiss if a lot of bird-watchers don't recognize you because they've never seen anything like you before.
Curvelle is on line everywhere and Walgreen's locally.

If you have a bath and body works locally, try...sm
their shower gels and body butter in whatever fragrance you prefer.  I too have such dry skin that it cracks and bleeds, especially on my hands and feet.  I can write on the skin on my arms and legs it gets so dry, and my face looks like a road map if I don't moisturize.  I also have very sensitive skin, but the perfumes they use don't seem to bother my skin.  I use the Neutragena Wave foaming cleansing pads on my face and then use the body butter.  Also try not to take really hot showers, the heat is very hard on the skin, and make sure you pat dry, not rub as that tears the skin.  Apply the body butter first thing in the morning, right out of the shower and again right before you go to bed.  That may seem like a lot, but it does not take much of the body butter.  I use it usually about 3 times a day, sometimes more on my hands, and mine still lasts quite a while.
I have a friend who does this regularly. I am on-call for a few companies locally and sm
am awaiting my next assignment. For the poster below who stated if it's too good to be true...This is a very legitimate business, not a whole lot of money to be made, but legit and fun too. You just have to write down every single thing you've witnessed and check off boxes if a survey is included in the shopping and/or eating experiment.
File in small claims court locally
it's about $25 and that fee will be reimbursed you when you win your case. They will get the money from them - that is the only way I know to recoup your loss. You need to do it legally through the court system.
Never owned, but .......

First off, my mom and dad had a clapper in their bedroom to turn the lights on/off.  Well my mom told me that everything was great the first few nights.  Then 1 night, after clapping the lights off, my dad farted so loud they came back on.  The look on his face -- and my mom saw it since the lights were on -- priceless.

As for Chia Pets, never had one of those either, but I used to work at McDonald's and the guys had to wear the baseball caps with the mesh around the sides and in the back.  One of the guys that worked there was of Asian descent and when his hair started to get too long, it stuck out of the mesh.  Never happened with the other guys, probably because their hair texture was different.  Anyway, it made me think of a Chia Pet and so I started calling him that.  As soon as I did, he got a haircut quick.  Too funny.

Restaurants and

What is your absolute favorite chain restaurant to eat out at or order food on line from?

I order Memphic BBQ from Corky's sent to my house for holidays.

Maggianos when I am needing soul food

Melting Pot when I am feeling princessy

And Subway when I am on the road

OMG! I would have owned that store!
I would have had the cops there any everything, pressing charges for physical assault! That woman was obviously completely psycho!
I have never owned a foreign car.
My old 1991 Dodge pickup has 450,000 miles on it and I bet it will see half a million. It is a 3/4 ton pickup and still averages about 23 miles to the gallon. Can't beat that. Also have a 2005 Ford F250 and a 2008 Dodge Charger that I am in love with.
I've only owned one cat before....
and his favorite toy was....haha...my dog's tails! He would sit at the arm of the couch, and when my dogs would come by, he would swat at their tails, lol. He also loved paper bags with a hole torn out of the corner to play with, lol. He never actually cared for regular toys, but he liked my balls of yarn I would just wind up, lol, so I made him his own little ball of yarn and he loved that thing. He was the coolest cat I ever had in my household. My family is big on pets, and we each had our own, my parents had a dog, my sister had a cat, and I had a dog, growing up, and I never thought I wanted a cat till I had the one that was a rescue cat that we had since before he was weaned, we had to bottle feed him. He was so friggin awesome. When my son was a baby, he would let my kiddo pull on his fur and tail, even the little hairs on his ears and his whiskers, and he never once hissed at my son or scratched or bit him. He was a rockin cat...he passed away about 6 years ago, miss that little guy.
Children in restaurants
Changing the subject here - Jennifer, you are so right. Children in nice restaurants acting out, with their parents ignoring them so they can enjoy THEIR meals, is one of my pet peeves. From the looks I observe on other people's faces, I would guess that a lot of people feel this way. When we go to Denny's, we expect this. However, when my husband takes me to a really nice restaurant for a relaxing meal, that is the last thing we want to see or hear!
My mom had 6 of us. Yes, we misbehaved in restaurants.
when she told us to behave, we knew the consequences if we didn't. If we were to young to know the consequences, we were removed.

One by one, as we grew old enough to learn, my parents would take ONE child at a time to a fancy restaurant and teach us that we had to behave, we had to keep our elbows off the table and not blow straws at the other diners, and that no, that restaurant did NOT have hamburgers.

You're taking this all WAY to personally, so my guess is that you're one of the EXCUSE-makers, and not one of the more considerate parents.
Not once in your post did you state that YOU even owned a cat, it's always sm
one of your family members? You'd think you'd have one yourself if you were such a fan??????

I have one.
[Sigh....]..... don't you wish you owned the patent

Does anyone or has anyone owned boston terriers?...sm

I am a dog lover to the nth degree.  I love all dogs.  Or so I thought.  My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were going out of town and called and asked if I would dogsit if they brought them over.  I was hesitant because they tend to get on my nerves when I am around them (the boston terriers not my BIL and SIL).  I said I guess.  So here he comes bringing them and they arrive wide open jumping on me and all up in my face, both of them.  I have a beagle of my own who is the ultimate laziest and low key dog you will ever know.  I also have a pit bull who is the kindest gentlest giant ever.  They are both well behaved and have never acted like those dogs do.  The minute my pit bull smelled her he went and was really sniffing her back end more than a dog usually would like she was in heat or something.  So my husband said she isn't in heat is she?  My pitbull is a male.  My BIL said I don't know.  My husband said she lives in the house with you. What do you mean you don't know.  He said well she shouldn't be in heat.  So we blew it off.  Well these dogs drove me nuts.  I mean nuts.  While working at my computer one sat and kept trying to jump in my lap while I was working and would dive up and hit my arm and of course cause me to mess up.  I was furious. I was on the verge of throwing the dog outside.  But it was storming so I didn't.  Then when I went in the living room to take a break and watch TV a few minutes one jumps up in my lap of course and when I went back to work I noticed blood on my pants.  I said oh great she was in heat.  I was ticked off.  I called my BIL and no answer.  I didn't know what to do.  So I loaded them up and took them home to their house where the back door was unlocked and left them with plenty of food and water.  I will just go let them out periodically.  I will be wasting my gas but oh well.  It is about 10 mintues away.  I just had to vent about these annoying little dogs.  I would have never dreamed there was a dog that I didn't like.  I can now say there are 2 dogs I don't like.  What are your experiences with boston terriers? I think it is the fact they won't sit down and are constantly jumping in my face and on my head that makes me annoyed.

Do you stencil? Walmart and Michael's locally sell stencils and the dabber brushes.
It is not hard.  I did a design of ivy and then glazed over it (suggestions on type to use from Lowe's) and then found a shower curtain that had the same ivy, material with ivy and light flowers to trim out some towels.  Looks pretty darn nice, if I do say so myself.
Disney area restaurants??
I'm going to Disney World with my family next week and would love to have some opinions on restaurants close or in the parks. A friend of mine told me about some restaurant where they "throw" food at you and the servers are kinda silly, but she couldn't remember the name of the place. I have an 8 y/o daughter and this is our first trip to Disney World, so would love to make it as fun as possible. Thanks for any suggestions!
I kept my kids in line at restaurants for
years with threatening them that there were table police and if they didn't behave they would have to go sit on the roof. One day my daughter, about 4 years old, asked the waitress about them. She laughed, went right along with it, and then brought her ice cream from the "table police" because she had been so good.
Too afraid of meat in restaurants now sm
Their meat may be old (sorry). If we do go, will only go to very busy place as even some bought at market are questionable. We have gift certificates which we appreciate as they are from busy places. Sometimes we have a "UFO" party. Unidentified freezer objects - if they're too old we throw them out. Buying light these days.Takes common sense, hopefully things will turn around in ཅ but for now I am being extremely careful and not loading up on meat either unless we intend to eat it soon. Perhaps I'm too cautious but things are rough right now for everyone, even the markets, restaurants, etc. I sure hope the turkeys are okay, even in good times we've gotten "bad ones" - have to open them up and be sure. Martha likes to brine hers in salt water - not a bad idea these days to check them out before it's too late the day of or the day before. Fresh is best - wish we had our own farm as some do.
I don't know about anyone else, but if I owned an Escalade, I sure wouldn't lend it out.

IAMS is owned by Proctor and Gamble.
All of their products are tested like she said. What she states is very true!
Great teen stores. They are owned by the same ... SM
establishment (for lack of a better word LOL). Gap is the more expensive, higher end, clothing. Old Navy is less expensive and is what the kids around here wear the most of. Either is really good but Old Navy goes a lot further in your budget.

Maurice's is good and not so high priced, if you have one of those nearby. And don't forget about the old standbys like Macy's, Penney's, Sears, and Belk's if these are in your area of the country.
I agree! My BP & I have walked out of restaurants without paying (sm)
if the mgr. wouldn't ask the people with a screaming baby or out-of-control toddlers (running around & actually eating off of other people's plates! Gaaack!)to do something about it. At movie theaters, if people bring screamers in with them, we go out to the mgr. and ask for our money back. My mom raised 6 kids and went to church with all of them every Sunday. If anyone (including the infant-du-jour) made any noise, they were removed immediately. Older kids had to sit in the car (with H*-to-pay when we returned home!), and babies/toddlers sat with her outside 'til such time that they calmed down again. And weddings? Forget it! She never subjected any of her friends' weddings to small children or babies. And we were trained, at at APPROPRIATE age and ONE AT A TIME, how to behave in restaurants. We had to use our "indoor voices", keep our napkin in our lap & our elbows off the table, and eat with the correct forks, etc. And in fancy restaurants, we were trained beforehand that we were NOT allowed to even ASK for a hamburger. That alone prevents many restaurant-meltdown scenes!
Atlantic Avenue has GREAT restaurants...
Also Park Slope - 7th Avenue and Flatbush - going towards Prospect Park - take a right and you'll be in Park Slope which also has great cafes and restaurants.  Prospect Park area also has the Brooklyn Museum and Japanese Gardens - both WONDERFUL PLACES to visit.  Enjoy!  NY is my home but I haven't lived there in over 30 years....
gift certificates for restaurants, car washes, etc.,
A nice pair of leather gloves? guys are tough to buy for !
We owned a coffee shop 5 years ago and here is my recipe (sm)
I have an espresso maker and a hot chocolate maker.  I buy white chocolate and dark chocolate at Cash N Carry.  I buy cups and lids at Costco.  I buy sleeves at Cash and Carry.  My daughters and friends say it is better than Starbucks!!  The hot cocoa maker froths the chocolate up just as well as our $1000 machine did at our original shop!! :))
Owned a coffee shop and told by experts not to sm
freeze or refrigerate beans as it takes moisture out and does something to the oils. Only buy what you need and only grind what you need right before you use it. I was surprised too!
It's nice, but food prices insane and food is really bad,
xx
I'd go with gift cards to restaurants. You can buy them in grocery stores or Walgreens

People in public restaurants who find it perfectly acceptable
table after THEY are finished with their meal.  To heck with everyone else around them! Ewww, GROSSSS!
This is disgusting.
Keep in mind that HPV is not the only way to get this cancer. From the National Cancer Institute:

Incidence of cervical (uterine cervix) cancer in the United States in 2007: New cases: 11,150.

This is the epidemic that we have to vaccinate our young girls for?? :(

This is so disgusting...sm

The Westboro Baptist Church that protests at soldiers' funerals is planning to protest at a funeral tomorrow for one of the VT students.  I don't know if my link will work, but there is a whole page on The Smoking Gun.

Oh that's disgusting...
There's not enough Clorox Cleanup in the WORLD to get rid of those germs...sick! I despise cats, they're a waste of space. And this cat has peed on your kitchen counters...where you prepare food for your family...more than once? It's making my stomach turn just thinking about a cat being ON the kitchen counters, much less urinating on them...gross, gross, gross!
That's as disgusting as You Are What You Eat
I've got to say I think this is worse. All of it looks disgusting and yes, appropriately titled. I started watching You Are What You Eat about a year ago (seen every episode) and I bought her book. Really makes you want to be a vegetarian. Even though I don't eat that, it's still time for me to lose weight
What is disgusting about the
Duggar family? They are amazing. Completely debt-free and do not rely on the government, kids have morals, are respectful and are kind to one another, mom and dad spend oodles of time with their kids and treasure each and every one of them. Maybe strange in this day and age, but disgusting, no.
I think it is disgusting
the owners allow these (and probably are the ones promoting) tip jars. It's pathetic.

My cat only eats dog food and won't eat cat food or even tuna.
LOL
I am using Angel Food Network for help with food (sm)
Being much more careful not to waste food. No more fast food. Soda only if bought in a two-liter bottle, not singles or fountain. Most of my money waste was spent on food.

Need help fast!
Is there a way to get a certified copy of a birth certificate in a couple days? Other than driving to the county where you were born? I live in California and I have looked at some websites but the fastest I can see is 3-5 days and I need it in like 1-2. Any help is appreciated!
Not so fast!
Your return only equals about "10% or so" assuming that the stock or fund you pick stays flat or goes up in price. If you lose money on the stocks, the 100 bucks they give you at the end may not even get you to break even. You also have to subtract the cost of your trades. 10% a year is a killing in this market.

You can learn to read charts & screen stocks at www.clearstation & www.morningstar.com.

You have to have a strong stomach to be invested in anything other than a passbook savings account right now unless you are in a VERY conservative fund, in which case there is no way you are going to make 10%.

Rule of thumb is the closer you are to retirement, the more conservative the fund has to be. The further out from retirement you are, the more time you have to make up your losses (and there WILL be losses).

So be very careful. I hope you're not planning on day trading.
As fast as I could! nm

Nothing disgusting or wrong

While I do agree that the above poster has every right to make up what rules she wants followed in her house and feel this should be respected by her children, I don't think there is anything wrong with 2 consenting adults having sex married or not.  It's not the 1920s anymore, and woman can have and enjoy sex just as much as man can and shouldn't be called immoral for it.  If a man or woman wants to have consensual sex, that doesn't make them bad or lesser or a human being, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it as long as they are safe.  It is up to them and not for anyone else to judge.  Sex is quite natural.  It's not some big evil thing to be ashamed of.  You do what is right for you, and other people will do what is right for them!  I just don't understand why the majority of people are so worried and so quick to jump to conclusions about what other people do

As far as girls having a lot of partners because they start early, that's not necessarily the case either.  I started having sex when I was 16, and I'm still with the same man 15 years later.  If that makes me immoral in anyone's eyes, I'm quite sure I won't lose any sleep tonight.

absolutely disgusting.......sm

and that's putting it mildly....sounds like someone with no heart whatsoever and whose life is *immaculate*.....sorry, ain't happenin.....we all have stories.....sad ones at that....

AND we all have probably come a VERY long way from our own beginnings too......*said humbly and thankfully*

Have a nice day!

What do they show that so disgusting?
Is it just like an entertainment tabloid show?
Have you ever seen it? All of those shows are just disgusting.
It's very vile. Which is why I only watch t.v. 0.00001% of my time. There isn't anything good on t.v. anymore - or good for you. I have 3 young children and the only safe channel it seems is the food network!

seriously disgusting how this holiday
extravaganza. What about the fallen heros??
