I have posted regularly about my two, Sasha and CJ. The dog I lost at Christmas was my most enthusiastic digger, and preferred to sleep outside when it was cool. I'd often find her lying in a circle inside the mole moat she had dug. I assume she wanted to be ready in case the moles popped up close at night so she could surprise them. She was my red and white girl with the big teddy bear face. She could shove her head in a hole up to her ears. She also liked to snorkle like a bear when she swam, with just her eyebrows above water.
Sasha is my pure white Siberian (a rescue we've had for 6 years, now age 7), and at times as dainty as a poodle (hence her nickname "Poodle Girl"), but she is also quite the hunter and has showed off more catches than Misha ever did. Sasha has brought in moles and birds and we have also witnessed her catching squirrels - quite a feat.
Most recently we added a 6-year-old named CJ - our first male. He is a complete mama's boy and quite the chow hound. He would stand on his head for a chicken strip. He is gray and white, marked just like a malamute, so one of his nicknames is MiniMal. He happens to have lovely deep brown eyes, so we also call him Rootbeer. Since he's our first male, DH is having a terrible time remembering to refer to him as a HIM, so I also call CJ Boy, and DH has picked that up, but still says HER because it's such a habit. CJ has a bit of a nervous tummy. He'd been placed with a couple of families by his breeder previously, but had been returned because of issues. His issues are that he doesn't like to be left alone, and supposedly howls if he is. Of course he's never been alone here since I currently work at home and Sasha is always here. Now if I go outside and leave CJ inside, he watches like a hawk out the window or storm door. Sometimes he will cry for me, but I have trouble hearing him even if it's only the glass storm door that's restraining him. So if his vocalizing was a problem, they had to have been leaving him outside. Umm, this dog in not a yard dog, so that's what the problem was. Which makes me kind of mad. You shouldn't get a dog if you aren't smart enough to figure out solutions to things like that, IMO.
Heck, we sold our townhouse for our first dog, and purchased a house with a shaded, fenced-in yard for our first dog, because she needed that. So why somebody couldn't put in a doggy door or take their dog to day care or whatever it took to make it work, I don't know.
I am so tired of hearing so many people I meet say they SM
hate cats. What is with these people, and what in the name of God do cats do to offend so many people? One of my friends told me on a shopping trip last fall about 15 times how she hated cats, but LOVES dogs. Finally I just fired back at her and asked her what in the world was wrong with HER? She got red in the face and muttered something about hating when they rub up against her. Give me a break. I could not take any more thatt day. Every shop we went into and she saw a cat on a picture, a mug, ANYTHING and I had to hear how she hated these wonderful, clever little creatures. All my life I have heard this nonsense. What is it with CATS?? My sister and nieces have cats and always have had them and we could not love them more. Would you believe last year my niece was in line at the store waiting to pay for cat food, when a guy behind her actually tapped her on the shoulder and looked at the cat food she was buying and proudly stated I HATE CATS. I agree with my niece when she said to me a few months ago that cats just don't get the recognition they deserve. When her cat of 20 years was failing but according to the vet not in pain, she took him to bed and slept next to him so he could die in her arms, which he did. We will never forget our Willie. He had a sweetness that will live on forever.

But sometimes, there goes that big, humongous but....my daughter's dog barks constantly, I am thinking about getting him a muzzle? Is that against the law? And what if someone is trying to break in? I have not worked in a couple of days but my neighbor's dog use to make me want to take Valium, nonstop. I never complained to them. Now she makes little remarks about our dog...
I am so tired of hearing how people fall for scams
You do not have to be old to be taken in so let's shelf that right now. I just saw on a judge show where a lady gave a guy 1500.00 out of her acct, leaving her with $81. This person thought she would get repaid and then make some. I read about people answering ads saying send in XXX and make $5,000.00 a day, week, whatever fits in here. I see where people stopped outside a store, a person has found a bundle of money and they want you to go to the bank and get the same amount, then all that to be put in the bundle and you get half of that? Can we say flim-flam? I cannot believe all the gulliable, seems like you have never been outside your home, absolutely idiotic people in my life. Why am I getting so angry listening to all this. I really am just BURNT up.

I've been taking them for 2 weeks now and have not had any such effects. I'm not on a super low-fat diet, I just use common sense.
I hate to say it, but today I think close to 99 out of 100% of people are idiots.

a woman that my daughter works with forgot to put her hearing aids up in their case when she went to bed one night - and her dog chewed one of them up during the night. fortunately, my daughter wears hearing aids and gave the woman one of her old ones (she's on her third set and now has a set that is digital). Her older one worked perfectly - glad that headsets are not the price of hearing aids - or none of us could afford to work (1200-5000 a set)

 Apparently she still has all of her female parts, except breasts...she gave birth vaginally...so it's NOT A MAN...IT'S A WOMAN. I certainly hope that losing one's breasts does not disqualify us from being a woman. This poor child is going to be so confused when she learns the circumstances of her birth. Not to mention that the other woman is breast feeding her...I feel for the innocent baby who is going to be the one to pay for her parents stupidity!
Is he hard of hearing?
I ask that seriously because my husband has the same problem, that and he has so many other things going through his head and for whatever reason the things I tell him seem to be the least important to remember! Could you get a bulletin board and tack notes up on it with what he needs to remember, send him emails etc. I send my husband a lot of emails as he works nights and that is the easiest way to "remind" him!

I like knowing I am "normal". I get up about 6:45 every morning, make lunches and am sitting working by 7 am. Okay, I confess, FIRST I check my email and MT Stars, etc. and then I get working so really about 7:15 am. Around 11 I take my first break, shower and get ready for the day and then work again until the kids get home about 3 pm. I hate when something messes up that schedule and with the kids at home next week it will so screw me up. I'd much rather be hanging with them than doing this. With 4 at home it is very hard to be as productive.
JMO but I feel that yes you can't prevent them hearing it
in school, etc., but you can prevent yourselves from condoning it which is what you'd be doing by giving it to her. And then when she tells her friends some will very likely tell their parents (who may not want to go that route) "Well my friend so-and-so's parents got it for her!" So, I agree with you on this one. And, again, just my opinion. :)
My doc says it's early hearing loss. sm
I went in 2 weeks ago for my check up and complained about the ringing in my right ear. He said it's early hearing loss and if it bothers me to see the ENT and get a hearing test done. LOL-like I have time for that right now.
I remember hearing the same thing
last year about Walmart. However, my sister works there and she said it wasn't true. I think that at Walmart their ads and banners say Happy Holidays, so that is the corporate message, if you will, but employees won't get fired for saying Merry Christmas. I guess I should say that she works at a WalMart in a small midwest town. I suppose it could be different in the big cities. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I do remember hearing just a tiny bit about
Amelia Island. What makes it an old pirate town? Would LOVE to hear all about it. I'm going to put that on my list to look at visiting. You know, as far as entertainment goes - I don't care to go someplace else hundreds of miles from my home to do something that I could do in my home state so "local" things to do/places to eat are always high on my list!
This is the unknown in me coming out but is it a "true" island - do you have to take a ferry out or do you fly??

a woman here in town is now sitting in jail. She either did not want to or ignored not finishing a particular case and when she did so called finish, she was 90 pages short. The judge has just sent her to jail. Ekkk.

Since you have a slope, it matters whether it's rear-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. One of them will give you trouble, but I can't remember which. Salesman told DH.

about this and so have not comment. However, I must comment when someone blames gun laws or suggests taking guns away from Americans!!!! This has absolutely nothing to do with guns or gun laws.
Guns are just a tool...they do not just kill people, just like knives, baseball bats, etc. People kill people period! Would all the anti-gun people feel better if these people were killed with a knife, chainsaw, etc.? Come on, we have gun laws in place. However, criminals and crazy people do not follow laws! The only thing stricter gun laws are going to do is make it harder for law abiding gun owners to get and keep their guns, and that is just dumb! I think gun laws need to be made less strict if anything. Maybe if a few people armed themselves, they wouldn't be so defenseless when some nut tried to shoot them for some reason. At very least, if you don't want to arm yourself, leave the rest of us who do alone.

Hubby with hearing and greedy problems

I am a clinical psychologist and now teach medical transcription. I lost my deaf old sweetie 2 years ago. He was incredibly vain about wearing aids and/or his glasses. FINALLY got him to an audiologist in Canada (half the price than here in US) but getting him to wear the aids was another matter. Solved it by training just like dog or horse. Yep! Intermittent positive reinforcement - rewards, treats, smooches, etc. I told him I would only go out to dinner or shopping with him if he wore the hearing aids. Refused to go out of house with him unless he had them on -- and he loved going out! It worked, except then I still had to repeat everything 3 times inside! Many, many frank discussions also helped. Turned out he was incredibly vain and thought he looked old with hearing aids. I finally convinced him that shouting at people REALLY made him look old. He got contacts instead of glasses.
As to self-centeredness, that has to be educated out of him, too. All this takes time. Just talk to him about values whenever he acts that way, and when he stops the selfishness, reward him. That is not acceptable behavior in an adult -- and I would tell him so directly.

I had very low BP when I was tired a lot...
went to the doc and he told me I needed to eat more protein. I was not only tired, had low BP but was also cold all the time. He also ran me through the battery of tests and everything was okay. I eat very healthy, have only one day that I call my bad eating day, on that day will have dessert, maybe fries or a soda. I exercise 5 or 6 days also, that revs me up too. It sounds like you are doing really good things for yourself, especially with little ones to chase! Have you been to the doc at all?

How many MTs out there are just tired all the time. I feel run down all the time and I shouldn't. I do not drink caffiene because I have mitral valve prolapse. This is getting old feeling bad all the time. Any suggestions? TIA.
He is tired a lot, but I put that down to the insomnia - sm
He goes to bed at 9 or 10 and wakes up at 2, so living on 4-5 hours of sleep a night would make you a bit tired. No jaundice. He has some body ache from time to time, but figure that is normal aging. He only gets nausous after cooking. He cannot eat right after cooking, his mom is the same way though. He does not have a good appetite though, that has been getting gradually less and less, eats a light lunch and dinner, no snacking thoughout the day, though he has not lost weight, probably because of the beer though. He has had a lot of stomache upset lately, so if I get get him to a GI doc maybe we will discover only gallstones. He has had a couple kidney stones already, though he only mentions them after the fact. I told him he has to keep the stone so we can get it checked/analyzed to see what type of stone it is. He is an ostrich with its head in the sand. I just dread if anything ever serious is diagnosed as he will most likely refuse treatment which I think is insane. I have a very strong will to live and we have 2 kids, so it is hard to understand. AS for the other comment on the will, yes we did that years ago, and we both have life insurance as well so in that respect I'd be okay, but I'd rather have him here, not in the ground.
I'm in my 1st trimester and very tired....sm
with my last pregnancy, which resulted in a miscarriage, I wasn't. Anyone else have a lot of tiredness? I used to sleep only 6-1/2 or 7 hours a night and now am sleeping 8 at night and taking a nap during the day. I'm hoping the tiredness is a good sign. I see the doctor this week for my first checkup.

I used to have to go down for a nap during my lunch break and if I wasn't careful, I'd oversleep by at least a good hour. I even tried working a split shift, which only made my fatigue worse because I'd take the 4-hour break in between just to sleep.
My husband is on the verge of needing insulin shots due to his very poorly controlled diabetes. His latest health report scared him enough to make him a willing participant in a strict diet. I am also on this diet to help make things easier. It totally bites the big one but I'll tell ya, WHAT A DIFFERENCE in my energy level--his too! We figure it just had to be the sugars and carbohydrates that were dragging us down.
No more breads, pastas, rice, or taters....all the things we really loved. We do munch all day though but on teeny portions of good stuff--mostly raw things like fruits, veggies, or bits of egg & lean meats. No more cream or sugar in our coffee, and that's just limited to 1 cup of black a day. No more butter either--my personal favoritest fat.
Been on it almost a month now and I can honestly truly feel a difference. I almost have enough energy to start exercising, which I didn't have before.
I'm 5' 10" and topped off at 230 but am now down to 220 just by this diet alone with no exercise. I'd be happy at 185 but once winter hits...man, I just don't know about that! I haven't been to a doctor in about 2 years either, but I'd recommend you visit one if you can, just to rule out stuff, ya know?

I know you are tired of me, but I just wanted to say
the pictures both of you sent are beautiful. The cat looks like one of my niece's. Lisa had a tonsillectomy Monday at age 45 and I am going over today on my day off to help her and to feed and care for the two cats! What a day this will be. The red one comes up to me and stares at me with those big yellow eyes and actually puts his nose against mine! I try so hard not to laugh, but I lose every time.

I am glad to see your post because I am having trouble getting into those size 20s and I am not going any higher, that is too high like it is. I have some problems that I am sure are associated, the main 1 now being incontinence and I mean it is not just a little. My blood pressure is a little elevated and I am sure that would come down with the loss. My feet also give me some problems, probably tired of carrying all this extra stuff. i had heard some about this and glad to know available right up the street. Thanks again!
I got really tired of the same from g'kids and get this
their mother would be sitting there tearing open the packages for them (they were old enough to do on their own). I told her several times to please let the children open. Have not given gifts to them now in about 3 years so don’t have to put up with that anymore. Let them open like they wish, out of it.
Tired and worn out
I am sure a lot of you are in the same boat I am, but I just need to vent.
I am 50 years old, married for 33 years, have a 26-year-old daughter (schoolteacher) who lives at home.
We run our own business, plus I do transcription. I receive no help whatsoever. I run the office for the business, do all the housework (dusting, dishes, laundry). I am hating to get up in the morning because I know I just face the same thing every day. My husband and daughter are very busy as well, but I wish they would just pick up after themselves. All I do is pick up and never get to serious cleaning or organizing. I am going in circles all the time.
I am ready to pack my suitcase and run away. There has to be more to life than this.

Bet you don't miss that heavy wet snow....after shoveling your car out for 1-1/2 hours and the snow plow comes back and spews it in your face and you've gotta start all over again. Scraping ice off the windshield, trying to deice the locks to get into the car. Getting stranded in a blizzard with 2 kids (at least you had the presence of mind to bring blankets, extra clothes and snacks). Rolling down the interstate, hit a patch of black ice under the snow, do a coupla 360s and the kids say "Mommy, do it again!" cause they thought is was fun. Shoveling the roof of your house so it won't cave in. Clearing the driveway and walks, putting down rock salt so nobody slips.
It would be really nice if it just fell on the grass like in those old Currier and Ives pictures/cards.  Cat

of it. I hate snow. Snow is back again today. I just cleaned the gunk off the car yesterday, but now it is back. Looks like black and gray mucoid substances hanging from door handles of car and flung up along the sides onto the windows. The ice wrecked one of my wipers today on the way in to town. The concrete at my home is taking a beating from all the snow melt we have used. We now need new concrete. My carpet is trashed from all the in and out traffic even though feet are "wiped off" - my husband's shoulder is out from shoveling so much. I barely got to see the ground before it started back. People are on the side of the highway putting on chains, crawling around in the dirty snow, ice and crud. Yummy! I wish I could be in a warm place and not wear boots. I am typing with my wool hat on (lovely -I look like a fashionista just so, so stylish, and my daughter is laughing at me because she says I look like a "Canuck" (I guess she means a Canadian from a snowy place, but who knows, she can't stop laughing long enough to explain). I have on three tops (two are fleece) and ugly warm pants with Uggs on that go up to my knees. I am still cold. The dogs don't want to go outside. Whenever I open the door for them they look at me like I am a "killer" or something. If you have dogs I bet they are smiling! Mine like the snow at first and roll in it, but when it hangs around too long like it has been they go into "dog depression" and it is sad to watch. If it snows too much all at once I have to get on a ladder to clean the snow off the top of my car so it does not slide over the windshield and totally block my view (dangerous - it happened a couple of weeks ago and I almost had a cow because I was on the freeway and suddenly it was just dark inside my car and it did not fly off). So, drive around and be happy! We could send you videos of the different stages of snow, I guess. The first fluff, the "snowed-in look" clean and beautiful, then the plowed up gunk and all cars off the road, etc. and then all the tired, depressed, cold people who would give their right arm to join you in your snowless paradise. Hang in there! You must be confused because God has blessed you greatly! I am eating my heart out right now just thinking of your "misfortune" and dreading the sun going down when the roads turn to an ice rink and the crashes begin, sometimes multivehicle.

Sooooo easy.
We buy chicken thighs (more juicy and tender) Sprinkle some McCormick's Season All (red seasoning - we've tried other red seasoning powders but only like McCormicks) then we grill them on the George Foreman Grill. We have steamed rice and salad with it. Can't get any easier than that. We also sprinkle the same seasoning on salmon or lamb and they all have their own unique flavor.

the second or third job anymore, or else I would try again. I did it for 20 years. but I'm burned out. I'm no spring chicken and will be celebrating another year older on Monday which also doesn't make me happy, but time does not stop.
Hubby is retiring next year and I'm really trying to stop him as it means only $1400 a month coming in for him...of course, he has no bills, while I have all of 'em. My reitrement bennies are only $700 a month because they deducted SS from me when I first went IC and didn't have to pay taxes because I was at a loss those first years. It's a ripoff. I had gone from $800 a month in the ྌs to $200 a month 3 years later. Now I'm back up to the above amount after 10 years. What a ripoff!
I hope you're a lot younger than I am and can get yourself out of debt before you are like me. I wish you the best.
Do you get very tired after eating?
I do and I don't know what to do about it. If I even just eat a hamburger I get so tired and it last about 45 minutes or so.
