Not an option in my backwards state.

I would defintely vote for it to be decriminalized.  Why should that be illegal when alcohol is legal and much more dangerous?

This is how backwards I think sometimes (sm)

I've had the book in my hands since Saturday morning and won't even take it out of the bag.  I figure once I read it, it's over...and I just don't want that to happen.  It's like a world-class piece of gourmet chocolate.  I want to savor little nibbles but want to have more for later.  I haven't been able to do that with ANY book I get my hands on....have to read the whole thing in one sitting.  I'm so queeah.

actually maybe not, the S's might be backwards
x
My marriage must be backwards.
Somehow DH usually gives up watching sports so I'll sit down and watch something with him. So we usually watch my DVR'd garden shows or those shows where they fix up people's houses. Okay, sometimes I watch shows like Smallville with him, but they have to contain a hunk or something for my pleasure too.

Am I doing this marriage thing wrong?
Personally, I do not see this as a step backwards--sm
as MOST of the women seeking abortion are children themselves and only want to rid themselves of a situation they created, being oblivious and not wanting to face any consequences of..getting pregnant. In other words, they want to be able to have sex without paying any price for that, i.e. having a baby. A lot of these *children* seeking abortion should be made to see that what they are seeking to terminate is human life and if that child were born, it would be considered murder. This human life is not a *tumor* or *cyst* that must be excised to save ones own life, but is a human life all its own. Viewing an ultrasound of that baby prior to having an abortion may deter some *children* from going through with that procedure. Other than the *forcing* aspect of it, I really think it would eliminate a lot of needless abortions. More strenuous parental control on these *children* having sex in the first place would be a better alternative. JMO
I with you, Hayseed. Backwards (or worse) is right. sm

I don't like the sound of this at all.  So let's see, this law would *force* a woman to look an ultrasound.  Okay, let's say it passes.  Then what?  Is there a time limit placed on the amount of time she has to look?  I mean, is a glance okay?  Will that suffice?  Or does it have to be a full 30 seconds... 60 seconds... 5 minutes?  Does someone have to hold a timer and witness it?  What if she refuses to look?  Are the police called in to hold her head and keep her eyes pried open?!   Come on, now.

Honestly.  It sounds ridiculous, uneforceable, and more than a little scary to me.

Backwards night! Breakfast for dinner!
Having bacon, eggs, toast. Usually have pancakes or waffles instead of toast, but not much gumption today...
Precious! Many places will have state-to-state drivers form a chain
s
Think you can go to dot.state to get h'way conditions, but here in lower NY state, we've been
s
If that's do-able, I think that is a better option than IEP.
l
Well, of course it would have been a better option. Goes w/o saying.
?
floor option
I have terra cotta-ish tile in my kitchen and love it. You can buy the grout already matching and it's so easy to clean. Also, if you live where there's any red Georgia mud/clay, it doesn't show up if someone (kids) tracked in the house. Area rugs look pretty on it. Keep in mind that whatever you put down, if there are area rugs, the cat will likely puke on them rather than the flooring! LOL
I didn't know that was an option-
if it is I bet Oregon will opt out.
Only other option get rid of 'em. Which would cat
x
soldier's option
Of course they can deny things but the soldier also has the option of fighting that which they deny by going to the IG, inspector general, of the base.  There will be a hearing and more than not, the solider will get what they need, especially in a case as this woman's.
You should at least give them the option.
Some companies have financial assistance to aid in medication in cases like this.
LOL! I agree with your first option. :)
yummy!
I was offered that option...
in second grade, to be promoted at Christmas break to 3rd grade.  I was reading at a 5th-6th grade level.  My mother, who had skipped a grade in elementary school, and then combined her 11th and 12th grades of high school in order to graduate during the depression and go to work, said "no."  She said it wasn't a good experience for her socially and she couldn't allow it--and she was right, I would have probably ended up needing a tutor for mathematics, in addition to feeling out of place.  I believe it's so great now that there are accelerated classes tailored to a child's strong points.
Gas with propane option.

Grew up with electric stoves. Was afraid of gas back then, stoves always blowing up. DH grew up with coal/gas and said there was nothing better. He wanted gas. Held off on gas/propane for 30-some years, but guess what I got for Christmas almost 2 years ago? Yep. He finally talked me into it.

Con was, and is, I am still learning how to cook on it, but the pro is my electric bill went down by $20 a month. It cost $100 for the tank of propane and I'm still using the same tank (15 months later). You do the math.

I still have the electric oven because they were separate units, but DH wants gas oven, too. I'd rather convection now that it's more perfected(?) than before.

Go for gas or propane. Gas is more expensive than propane here, and that's why we got the fitting for propane.

I will never go back to electric now. Gas cooks faster and the food stays hot longer than electric.

Don't snow this again option either...or SHOW ;) nm..
.
Homeschooling is a valid option. Please
feel free to email me personally if you would like any info on homeschooling. I have homeschooled all of my kids after a horrible experience in public schools with my oldest. I don't want to really discuss it here, though, as it is a topic that invites much flaming, and I have no interest in debating it. It works, and we love it. I just checked stats, and according to the US Dept of Education, in 2003 there were 1.1 million kids homeschooled in America. That number is suspected to easily have doubled by now, and new results are due out. My kids are in high school, a fully nationally accredited course, and are very happy kids. Oldest is college bound and also a very happy MT. Sorry for your struggles, but am glad you are challenging the system. Our kids are priceless and deserve more.
I forgot to add that what you said wasn't an option...sm
This paper was due in her 1st period and the media center at school doesn't open up until then. She was going to take it on disk and swing by there just in case she could convince someone to open up early for her.
Another option is Cytomel (T-3) and Synthroid.
x
As a catholic, they did not "Get rid" of that option.
There are 2 seperate ways you can "enter" a confessional - 1 is behind screen, the other is face to face.

Granted some churches don't give you the choice anymore, why I don't know, but they are not supposed to do that.
Wow - I am the poster above. I think this is a very good option
and I would definitely give this a try before my drastic option - good for you!
No the in-laws are not an option the only reason - sm
we "borrowed" from them was they did not want us taking a loan and paying interest...so they gave/loaned us $14K interest free, I have it down to $10K so far. That is the extent of their involvment. DH would rather die than have his parents know about this I know that. They do have the money to help but that would put us under their thumb the rest of their lives and I don't think either one of us could deal with that. We do have some assets we can sell that would pay off at least half of the debt, though I don't see him being too thrilled about doing that, it is a good solution to part of the problem. I am considering talking to my brother or my dad, but again he will have a cow when he finds out about that (he will lose face in his mind). He always worries about what others think about him, etc, it gets real wearing at times.
Any parent who choses to has the option of
But out here, I doubt there are many parents who are that fearful. There are bigger things to worry about (fires, economy, earthquakes, 401K, jobs) than whether or not our kids are 'emotionally scarred for life' by witnessing a same-sex marriage! :D
another option, unplug the phone when - sm
you have company over....then he can call as much as he wants and you will never hear it. I did that at night for over a year as I had a crank caller calling me in the middle of the night for a while...this is before caller ID...so I just started unplugging the phone every night and plugging it back in in the morning. They finally gave up by the time I started to leave it plugged in at night.
I agree, if you have the option to wait
a couple of months longer, I would wait. Just to be sure that he will not come back to the old place and you are at the new place. This would be terrible, wouldn't it?

I don't even remember having the option of booking early

but that was 10 years ago.  I also agree that it was no big deal to plan your excursions once you were on board.  Have a fabulous time!  My mom us to Bermuda when she retired in 1996 and we still talk about that trip.

Is there an option for a charter school in your area?
I personally do not know of that would be better, but the class size from what I hear is smaller.
maybe should choose a grounding option other than a wedding.
nm
Some hospitals give you the option of sedation or not. sm
The hospital I work for gives you the option of sedation or no sedation. They have to schedule them differently, but how I am not sure.

I am not really afraid of small dark places, but if I had my choice, I think I would opt for sedation any day of the week for an MRI.

Now if only they could get rid of that "ball bearings in a coffee can" sound.
Old-fashioned ham with half the work and diabetic option~*~*yummmm*~*~

Pick out your ham

Pick your favorite mustard.  (I like spicy swedish mustard)

place mustard in bowl about a cup or so (depending on how large your ham is)

add an equal amount of Brown sugar / Diabetics can use splenda

You want a paste that will cling to the ham.  In order to achieve this consistency add pineapple juice to the regular mixture or  diet sprite to the diabetic one and then smear this all over the ham.  Place in pan, cover to keep in moisture and cook according your hams directions.

I like to open it up and pour the juices over the ham.  EVEN IF you dont like mustard you will like this.  Try it it is VUNDERFUL muah lol

The State of Arizona is opting out. Anyone else's state opting out? NM
:
Must be that state of the art leg
she just has to program it and it does the cha cha, disco and rumba all by itself. The other contestants don't have a chance this year.
In my state . . .
Not sure about this, but I think the doctors in my state do an ultrasound before any abortion procedure anyway just to see how far along the mother is. I guess the mother is not required to look at the monitor? I don't believe in abortion for myself, but at the same time I do not thing anyone has the right to tell you what you must and must not do. It is a woman's body and she must live with her decision. I will say this-both times I was pregnant seeing the babies made it all seem real. I knew it was real, but seeing it really hit home that I was about to be blessed with a small wonderful new life.
LOL. Well, he was at our state
fair and we were going anyway, so we figured we would just go the night that he was going to be there. I was absolutely crazy about him when he first came out, then it faded! It was really good last night, though
#1 what state are you in....

I'm curious as to what state you're in and if this is public or private school (I didn't read the entire thread).  I want to add that writing something 100-200 times was outlawed in many states years ago - this just makes kids STOOPID (more stoopid).  As I know it, also paddling was outlawed DECADES ago in many states........so I'm curious if you're talking about public vs. private school.  PADDLING FOR BEING LATE?????????  OMG......they better find another way (the schools)........

gee, the censor here said I had to change the spelling of stoopid (bad word apparently).....

What state are you in and
what's growing in your vegetable garden right now?

Broccoli (ending), snow peas, onions, garlic, spinach, red lettuce, dill.

Just planted yesterday: tomatoes, sunburst squash, bush beans, with much more to come . . .
Well I do know that our state is 50-50 (sm)
so 50% of the house is mine but so is 50% of all debt. Regardless of whose name it is in. I have talked to mine about it in the past but not recently. He told me not to ever mention it again unless I was ready to go. As far as family, mine lives 8 hours away and is in no position to help anyway. All I have is God, my kids and my friends. But you know I am very grateful for all of them.
What state are you in?
Oh, I would be road-kill if I brought home another kitty though.... *whine whine whine* :)
in my state...
I can call my contact person at the child support agency and they can draw up the papers to have the child support increased. No cost to me. Or, call the legal aid in your town and see what they suggest.
Please use state boards. NM
Goldbird
I do not think underpaid here in my state
nice that the person won, however as far as putting up with the children, most teachers would never have to do that if the PARENTS did their job now days and taught the kids to respect, mind their elders, share, get along, in other words prepare them for life once they get through school. I think the parents are failing, not the schools.
Once again, depends on the state.....
xx
Sad state of affairs when he is in the top 2
because if people are really thinking they are voiting for talent, far from it. I think the vote is the cutesy vote, not anything close to anyone with staying power nor star power the likes of Carrie. Oh, could be a shooting star, flash across the night and then gone. He is really 1 of the weaker singers I have ever seen on this show and watched it each and every year. Malinda will do very well. She is strong and will probably outshine most on there this year. I hope people will come to their senses and at least vote Jordin in.
ummmm, D, it looks like CNG is a no-go in my state. SM
Sounds like some fraud and duress has been going on.

Here's a report I found: http://dfi.wa.gov/consumers/news/2006/check_n_go.htm

Wow that's great, what state?
xxx
I don't, but there are individual state
boards too, see State Boards right under Word Help.
Sad state of children

Good for the boys who have been guided under your scout leadership.  They will truly have a gift to pass on to their children some day.  My boys are 8 and 10, both cub scouts, the oldest crossing over at the end of this year.  Most of the boys at school feel that scouting is just for those who are not popular and laugh at it.  Fortunately, my oldest son is assertive enough to smile and let them know that he is proud and feels fortunate to belong to scouts, even stating that some day he hopes to be an Eagle Scout who will become President.  He has learned so much from scouting--including the true meaning of RESPECT and practices it on those who do not even deserve it.  We have to keep plugging away to keep these values in our children, so many kids are lost with parents who are lost.  Thank you for your years of dedication and teaching....maybe with one child at a time we can turn this sad trend around.

You state below that you done know if you can make it - sm
or let him go, etc. You never "had" him in the first place. He responds by saying, "you are strong...you will make it." From that response I deduce he does not care, as long as you go away quietly and don't cause him any trouble. I cannot relate unfortunately as I have never gotten involved with anyone over the internet and don't ever intend to. You have made your "relationship" with him into much more than it really is. He says his wife is a "good woman" , that alone speaks volumes and the fact that he is sweeping you under the rug and you can only contact him at work, which is conveniently ending soon and he is cutting you off so his wife doesn't get PO'd. Email and speaking on the phone does not totally tell the whole picture about someone. You have never met him, you have no clue his idiosyncrasies, habits, etc. All you know about him is what he has told you, which is not much from the looks of it. If you cannot handle your "breakup" on your own, then go to a therapist, cleryman, trusted friend, or someone who is close to you and can help you through this. You vested way to much in an unattainable man, which as pointed out below is a definite issue and you need to find out why you did that. Concentrate on the positives, you say he has helped you become a better person, well w/o him try to continue to be that better person and go out and do things, get involved with and organization and keep busy and try not to dwell on this "wonderful guy" who lied to you about being married, and tosses you aside when he deems it unacceptable to continue being your "friend".
