Sounds nice. sm

I'm ready to rescue a kitty now after we had to put our beautiful cat to sleep but my roommate is not ready yet.  So I understand where you both are coming from.  I don't know the solution.  If you do decide to wait though, I'm sure there will be another very deserving dog who needs a good home like yours.

Sounds nice. sm
I really love my Prius.
Sounds like a very nice way to get
pregnant.  Great post!
That sounds so nice!
I'd love to do a walkaround in my neighborhood...how did it get started? We too live in a large subdivision, but that would be a wonderful way to get to know everyone, not just our immediate neighbors.
Sounds NICE! Here in *Bagdad-by-the-Bay* - sm
the mean year-round temperature, (especially in the summer) is 57 degrees, with fog and wind. Hence Mark Twain's quote about his *coldest winter*! Of course, if you go 2 blocks in any direction, it can be 10-15 degrees warmer. OR colder. Our *micro-climates* at work! The little shops up by Fisherman's Wharf that sell sweatshirts & hoodies always do a landslide business in summer! At least the climate is *envigorating*, as my dad used to say. Still, a little shorts-and-tanktop weather once in a while is always a rare & welcome treat.

That sounds so nice. With teenagers we seem to always be busy
on Sundays. Until just a few weeks ago I could say that 5 out of 7 days we all had dinner together. Both my kids now have after school jobs. Each only work 2-3 days a week but this week the only night we will all be together is Wednesday.
That is so sweet! She sounds like a really nice person! (nm)

Sounds like a great way to grow a nice new head
of hair.  I'm sure she'll come up with something to give her a fresh start.  She could always wear a wig.  I'm sure the hair extensions did some damage to her lovely locks.
This sounds just like me and my husband!

Except reverse all of it!  I'm the one harping on him to lose weight (one heart attack and diabetes) and get organized.  He's always saying he'll never change so we should get divorced...15 years of hearing that now!  Nuh uh bub, ain't that easy! ;-)

"Til' death do us part."

It's work, no doubt about that.  I think I do a good job at picking up the slack though.  Some days I just let the whole house to go pot to see how bad bad can get as a protest, but he is what he is and I still love him.  The weight thing though, it is a matter of life and death, so I'm working with him and doing the diet right along side of him so we can share in the misery.  He helps balance my antisocialism and anal retentiveness by off by getting me out of the house and doing things and has just a twisted sense of humor as I do.

The organization thing, not a lot of people have that--there wouldn't be those shows on TV dedicated on how to get organized!  And weight issues--who doesn't have them?!  It's not like we're the agrarian society we once were.  Very few of us work hard enough to break a sweat.  So, maybe he is genuinely concerned about your heatlh the way I am with my husband's.  My friend is extremely underweight and her husband is always harping on her to eat--she looks like she has rickets but always has, even when we were kids.  Can't win for losin'.

Try to find a middle ground--the hug this morning sounded awful nice though!  I love to start my day with a few of those.

Hmm, sounds like my ex-husband.

Sounds like my husband's ex - sm
My DH has a quite strong sex drive, he'd have it 4-5 x a week probably if I wanted to....right now it is 1-2 x a week. But his ex, according to him, could not acheive orgasm no matter what he did (he is good in bed so that is not the problem), and he is the type of man to make sure his woman is satisfied before he is. I am sure this was of of the driving factors in their divorse, though she left him. He went from her to a lady who had endometriosis and sex was very difficult and painful for her (poor guy). Then he met me....at the time I was quite the little sex maniac at 29. Needless to say we made each other happy. We still do, though it is not the same as it was of course. I am not like I was 15 years ago (much lower sex drive these days) but we still have a good time, not every time granted but it is still enjoyable. As noted below there have been ups and downs which I think are quite normal in a relationship. But if you truly believe the problem lies with you then get checked, you have nothing to lose by it, and may gain back some of your urge again.
sounds like your husband has a brain

Sounds like a wonderful husband
would be the best bet.
OP ABOUT ES AWARD sm

Thanks for your input.  I definitely will get him a gift.  I will go to the area Scouting stores and see what I can find.  I know it is a great accomplishment. He has three older brothers and he is the only one that did scouting.  He was never that good in sports so martial arts and scouting was his passion. My daughters were in Girl Scouts until about 7th grade.  I think an Eagle Scout Award holds more clout than a Girl Scout Award.  My daughters have dated some guys who had gotten Eagle Scout awards and they were so nice and very polite and I came right out and told them how impressive I was that they were 18 and still in scouting even though they took their teasing from others.

My 'Dingbat Award' goes to - (sm)
the family I saw one time in the Sierras while I was driving back from skiing. There are two runaway truck ramps on Westbound I-80, and I saw a family stopped right at the entrance to the ramp, having a picnic lunch on the tailgate of their SUV while the kids played in the pile of gravel. That's a ramp located on a long downgrade, and it gets a LOT of use! I had a CB radio at the time, and boy oh boy... it was crackling with laughing, disbelieving truckers who were saying 'What the h..........?"
I agree that Carrie should not have won this award....but
I don't agree that she has no talent....WHAT?!!? lol
Opinion needed regarding Eagle Scout Award

My nephew is receiving his Eagle Scout Award on Saturday.   Are we suppose to give him a gift of some sort?  I told my mother that I did not think so since he had a lot of donations from our town.  What is your opinion?  In case anyone is curious for his project he beautified the VFW Hall in his town by planting a memorial garden.  I am always impressed with boys who stick with scouts until the age of 18.

Everybody is making it out like she's the first rock star to have a drug problem and win an award
Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Eagles, INXS, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, The Doors, and on and on and on. If we only listened to, or gave awards to, the clean and sober musicians, our musical legends would be a completely different list.
Hey - Congrats!

First of all, congrats! (sm)
Yes, the tiredness can be very overwhelming. I would take this as a very good sign. I couldn't believe how tired I was the first trimester in both my pregnancies. Could fall asleep sitting up! Your body is doing a tremendous amount of work making that little baby. You'll feel better in the second trimester, and then tired again the last trimester. Though for me, I didn't feel like I was as tired in the 3rd as I was in the first, but everyone is different. Best wishes to you and your growing family!
Congrats to you and her.....
Nursing school is a lot of hard work!! Lots of nurses in my family (I am also a medical assistant). Just a little secret...when I cannot do my work, the nurses in my family help with my transcription. ;)

Anyway...congrats to her, congrats to you for being such a great mentor and for being such a great "helper" when she needed it! :)
Congrats!
I know the Atkins diet has worked for a lot of people. I know one in particular who has actually done it several times, only to gain the weight back and more, but I think the key is to probably transition into a Zone-type of diet after you are done with Atkins to keep your results. Best of luck to you!
Congrats!!!!

Congrats to the SOX, they got
the job done. Still wish it would have been the Indians though :-)
Congrats!

Congrats!!

Congrats to you :-) sm
I love my Rays. Been going to games (live 2 hours away) and watching them for 6 years now. I'm just so thrilled we got this far. It was such a treat.

But what really bothered me were statements from the media like, 'the series no one is watching, but no one will forget.' Pegging this series as 'not a sexy World Series.'

It's ironic that now that there is drug testing (so no steroids) that the 2 teams who made it, one of which hasn't won since 1980 and the other who has been in the cellar since it's inception in 1997, are deemed dull and a boring series...

I'm not sure about the Phillies, but the Rays were one of the only teams who had no players on the 'steroid list' last year.

I'm insulted as an avid baseball fan and as a Rays fan that the sports media continually poo-poo'ed this series. So... the only way a WS is good is if we watch pumped up steroid playera and/or players who make an obscene amount of money (one NY Yankee player equals the entire roster of the Rays).

I watch my Rays every day they're on TV or when I'm able to get to the games in person (love the Trop and the catwalks LOL), and I've watched every playoff and WS for as long as I can remember, no matter who was in it. I just pick a team and have fun.

I'm happy for the Phillies. It was a good, clean series and their manager has a lot of class. I'm sad we didn't win. Next year seems so far away, but I really had a great ride this year.

Again, congrats to you!!
Wow - Congrats!
That's awesome you lost all that weight!
Thank you both and congrats on the
weight loss.  Several years ago I lost 27 pounds and felt like a new person.  I have gained it back and more and need to get serious about weight loss for my health.  I have new clothes with the tags still on that I want to wear.  Thanks again to you both.  Wish me luck!
Hey, congrats! sm

Sober for 20 years, can you start a gab fest on how to do that successfully? You are the best! Just leave the rest! I can't swim either and I don't give a rat's pittouty!

Love this thread. What you don't know about me is I am claustrophobic, hate to fly and hate elevators and closed places. It prevents me from living my life as it should be!

Congrats.....
on being smoke free for 18 days! My boyfriend started the patch 2 weeks ago today. I think in that 2 weeks, he has had a total of 2 cigarettes (just taking a puff or 2 here and there, not a whole one at once). I started the patch 1 week ago and have had a total of 3 cigarettes(same thing, puff or 2 here and there, not a whole one at once). I only had a craving once that was really bad. Other than that, it's more the habit, type a long report and go smoke, eat and go smoke. lol I had him buy me an ab roller last night at Walmart and am gonna use that to hopefully help break the habit and maybe tone up my gut. LOL

By the way, cigarettes went up again here. My brother had to stop and pick up a pack for his MIL. Cost him $6.77!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous.
Congrats!!
You will love it!! I have leased two and NEVER had any problems with either one. Consumer Reports loves the car and actually compares it to the BMW.

ENJOY!!!
Congrats! (sm)
Congratulations on getting it done and presumably mailed by 04/15/2009. Next year, keep in mind that you can file an extension until 10/15 if you need to. Of course, filing that extension would probably just mean that you would be going through what you went through today, only on 10/14/2010 instead of 04/14/2010....

Anyway, congratulations!
CONGRATS!
OMG, how adorable! How old is your son? My daughter starred in a series of commercials for local health care facilities quite a few years ago. No matter how many times I saw it, I was just SO proud of her. There were no residuals or anything; just a good-sized savings bond and a few stuffed toys (unfortunately, one of which was Barney and my daughter was terrified of Barney at the time, lol!).

You and your son will have a blast and ENJOY IT! My daughter got full hair and makeup and everything, just like a little movie star.

Let us know how it goes and congrats to both of you!!!
Congrats!
Never saw your original post. Sometimes there are hot topics that quickly push other stuff off the board, so don't take it personally.

Congrats!
I'm so glad for you. Needless to say, this is a good thing for the remaining Chevy dealers, but just a horrible thing for the ones getting kicked to the curb. My son works in the body shop of a Pontiac dealer (you can see where that's going) but there is also a Chevy dealership partnered with them. I haven't heard yet whether they're pulling the plug on that one.

I would think it would be almost a survivor's guilt - so relieved it's not you, but so sad for the others.

What a nice response by a nice mom
What a gracious, well-adjusted response to a rude, obviously maladjusted poster--Hard to imagine someone with such an empty life and such a petty spirit that they would take the time to post criticism about a kid's feet! (Some people really have major issues, LOL!)
Congrats... you should be proud
of her and of yourselves for helping her as much as you could. I did the same thing with my DIL, looked at it as an longterm invest in my grandchild's future, the sacrifice of all of you is definitely worth it. I was as proud as any mom when she passed her boards for LPN. My DIL is back in school for her R.N. now, so we continue to help with the babysitting, etc. Wouldn't trade the time with my 2 year-old grandson for anything, even though most days I feel really OLD by the time his daddy picks him up each night. Congrats again to her!
Congrats! That's great! (nm)

Congrats! If you want some paint fun

go to the various paint companies websites (I like Behr) and fool around with their virtual rooms and color combos.  They also have good tips for the how-to of it.   Enjoy your new digs!

Congrats!! see inside......
You can definitely still have a very healthy baby and pregnancy. It sounds like you are wanting to try to change a few things so start now by eating healthy, walking daily, and you and your baby will be just fine. The cons or risks that come with obesity and pregnancy include......first of all, you can't feel the baby move as early as others may so don't let that scare you. The other issues that i have seen run in hand with some with obesity are high blood pressure and risk for toxemia. that doesn't mean every obese pregnant mother goes through that. i think there are lots of reasons for obesity and i think that plays a major role. Cut out as much sodium as possible, eat healthy, lots of protein, drink lots of water, and try to get some exercise and you should be fine. i would encourage you to go to blueribbonbaby.org and read up on some of those things mainly the Brewer's diet and if you start trying some of those things NOW it will help prevent things in the future if you happened to be at risk later on in pregnancy. oh, don't let some doc tell you that you need a c-section because of your size either cuz that is BS! Good luck to you!
jealous...congrats wish it were me
Keep  me posted...I want to know everything.
Congrats on your new additions!
They sound very cute!
Congrats! I am researching them now...sm
Thanks for the info.  My 10-year-old Cutie Utie is starting to have problems and I have been researching the hybrids.  Because of a very large dog that goes almost everywhere with me, I am focusing on the Ford Escape or Saturn Vue, but only if they are not too big--have only seen them on the computer.  Hope your car arrives in under 5 weeks.  How exciting!
Congrats to both of you new homeowners

What fun it is to decorate a new home for the holidays (and expensive).  Maybe you could talk one of your friends/family into throwing you a housewarming party -- make the theme Christmas decorations.

We're in the process of building, but we're not expected to be in until after the new year.  I can hardly wait.  It'll be like having 2 Christmases this year.  Good luck -- hope all goes well!

Congrats on that appointment! sm
A lot of people are returning to church. I was too "busy" for years and got away from it and feel it at the holidays. My views of the right/wrong religion have changed a great deal over the years. I no longer believe there should be huge "differences" in churches and ? being loyal to just one. I am "searching" as well because my kids have married people from other faiths and I feel they are "pulled" as to where to go, and that should not be. I'm happy you are thinking of returning and faith is so important these days. You have inspired me to get off my butt as well and get back to church (and I am not going to give up until I get back there.) It can be very depressing because it does haunt one on the holidays (at least me anyway). I can't imagine not having faith. Congratulations to you!
What a cutie pie! Congrats ! nm

congrats on the no smoking!!!!
I am not that broke, but next paycheck I need $800 for the car payment and window and door loan. Also need about 200 for food for the following 2 weeks until the next payday... so bout a grand, but the check will only be 700.  HMMM, Live without food and will still owe 100 to someone.  Thank God I do not have to put gas in the car.
Congrats! You earned it!!

Congrats!! Good luck to all of you!

Congrats!! I am so happy for you. Pupster
