Psychology evaluation

I agree with the poster who suggested a psychological evaluation - RIGHT NOW. Don't wait. If you need a professional opinion before you do that, ask your pediatrician. Most likely they know some psychologists who specialize in evaluating children.

Could be he needs medications, could be he just needs behavior modification.

In the meantime, to keep peace, I would offer to help with his homework but would tell him to let me know if he needs help. Obviously, he considers your help interference and if you put him in control of the situation, it will be much better for everyone. Pick your battles and fighting his personality type is not going to work.

Best of luck to you and the little guy. Let us know how it goes.

Have you tried reverse psychology on him? sm
I have an 8-yo son who is very defiant like that. I have learned the only thing that works with him is reversing the psychology. I have to be extremely nice to him to make him behave if that makes sense. I ask him to do things rather than tell him. Once a battle begins, the only thing that works is being very loving to him. Then he straightens up and is on the best behavior all day until another trigger!

It sure would be fun to type a psych evaluation on her,
I thought 'Angelina Jolie' too, when I looked at her. Wonder how much of her welfare money she paid to get her lips injected?

And what a LIAR. She says, 'All I ever wanted to be was a mom.' And yet who takes care of her kids? Grandma, who says she's getting tired with 6 - doesn't know how she's going to manage with 14.
could be a cognitive dysfunction. Should probably had a psychotherapy evaluation for this.
It could be some psychological disorder that has either manifested itself or been triggered by some factor, or could be that he has always had it to some extent, but is becoming more prevalent. Sounds to me like he should be psycho-evaluated to see what is going on. Good luck to you.
