Pugmom..the ED checks records and will know that you are not a frequent flyer....sm

And believe me, there are some that are there like every other day.

Something else you might want to do too( I have typed urology both adult and peds for 19 years now and have lots of hints LOL) is to walk as much as possible, drink LOTS of water, and perhaps cranberry juice. The walking is supposed to help the stone get moving, the liquids are to help flush it out once it starts moving. The cranberry juice should help with the start of an infection.

Some people though, never pass their stone(s) and have not one iota of pain and suffering once the initial diagnosis is made.

I am so glad to hear that you are doing better. Myself and others were worried for you. Glad you are back.

Pugmom....Did you go to the ER and are you...
feeling better?

I thought of you this AM when I woke up and am hoping you got some help.
hey Pugmom!
Glad to hear you're feeling better! I had my uro appt this week too. Now I'm waiting on the results of the renal ultrasound, and the cystoscopy is scheduled in about a month. I put that appt off as long as I could get away with at the time, and it won't be beneath me to end up postponing it when it gets closer to the scheduled date, LOL! I still haven't started the Macrodantin (insert the sound of chickens cackling in fear here)...

Anyway, glad you're doing better!
Thanks, Pugmom (sm)

I know my case is rare, and my pancreatitis is caused by cystic fibrosis.  (I did a little research, and the original name for cystic fibrosis was cystic fibrosis of the pancreas.)

I was lucky that I never started drinking.  My dad drank so much and then would beat up my mother and me.  I think that's what turned me off to alcohol.

My daughter, on the other hand, is drinking more, she's on Seroquel, Xanax, a few others I can't remember AND a prescription for medical marijuana.

She keeps telling me that they think I'm an alcoholic, yet not ONE physician ever told me that, so I don't know where she gets that.  Like I said, she thinks I'm "faking," and what I need from her is some tolerance and understanding because I'm slowly beginning to hate her, so I try to keep my distance.  I get yelled at for every single thing I do in this house, and she's threatened to evict me on many, many occasions.

My relationship with her has always been somewhat contentious.  She knew I was doing well in 2004 and 2005 (earning in the mid 40s).  We had been talking about my moving in with her then.  On day four of my first hospitalization, she bought a one-way airline ticket and brought me back to Colorado.  We both thought this was just a one-time illness, but when the true cause was found, her attitude changed, particularly regarding money.  So I realize now that the only reason she wanted me living with her was so she could get money.  Now that I don't have any, she wants me out.  (I AM keeping track of the months I didn't pay rent, and when Social Security goes through, I WILL pay her back.)  After that, I'm not so sure I want anything to do with her, and you'd better believe I'm holding my tongue because I'm terrified of her.  My 16-year granddaughter is turning into her mother, constantly being rude, and if I complain, then I get yelled at again.

My two little grandsons, though, are the loves of my life.  Sweetness just runs through them.

Oh, my!  This turned into another novel.  I apologize.  Thanks very much for your post.  It means a lot to me.

Not everyone responds to emails, so you shouldn't get too distressed yet. Give it more time girl... like someone said especially around the holidays, even if you did priority mail. If it's just regular old snail mail then it could take a lot longer. The thing about how it is frustrating he hasn't responded, of COURSE it is!!! and it's rude. and I would leave that as a warning to others in the feedback, just that there was no response. Maybe he just knows he sent it and is not worried about it and is "too busy"... you never know.
Can't speak for Pugmom - but when I see () or J**B
I would much rather read Pugmom's posts than her hater's posts.  The poster above needs to learn how to spell.  No wonder she is so angry.  She is an MT that cannot spell or make a proper sentence.
Hi, Pugmom, now that you told me more
about your 3 pugs I start liking them and they are not scary to me any more.

We do not have dogs, that's perhaps why I reacted on impulse like that. We are more into cats.

Anyway, Pugmom, I am sorry if I hurt your feelings, I did not mean to. I think if I'd met your doggies in person and action I would like them. Pictures do not say much.

BTW, I liked your 'egg' story you posted today, really funny!

See ya!
As a frequent massage recipient....sm
You'll more than likely love the massage and how relaxed you'll feel afterwards. They'll find sore muscles that you had no idea were sore - but having the kinks worked out will make you feel tons better. Be sure to drink a lot of water after the massage to help flush out the impurities they release from the muscles.

I do leave my undies on.
Oh Eunice. That's really a shame. But I must say as a frequent

sufferer of insomnia myself, also mostly due to pain issues, I would be so eleated to get 5 to 6 hours of continuous sleep.  I can't recall the last time that occurred.  Why not follow your physician's recommendation regarding increasing the Pamelor, and if about 1 month you are still displeased with your sleep pattern, request a trial of another medication.  There are plenty of them out there.  Like I mentioned, trazodone is often prescribed as the initial line of therapy, most likely because it is non-addicting. If your PCP is prescribing the sleep aid, I would mention the problem also to your physician who is treating your fibromyalgia.  He or she may be more up on what helps insomniac patients who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  If you want to discuss this further, feel free to post a message asking for my email address, as I have alot of experience and knowledge regarding sleep aids and could give you the ins and out if you so desire.  Take care.

release of medical records

Wknds are the toughest at any hosp.

Considering your FIL has had a stroke, who's his proxy?.... he can't sign for himself....Someone has to run down to medical records and sign a release for ALL the medical records pertaining to the dates in question......ER, HP, procedures, consults, progress notes,  labs, anything you can think of ...You are entitled to a free copy and it will be sent to your home address within a week.

Docs at the new hosp may be able to access records over the internet as a course of professional courtesy.   Hope he recovers soon.

Just saw show on this about getting jail records, etc.
This prosecutor said when accessing a file you have to put in login # and time and I would suppose identifying yourself before getting a record on a person's previous jail records.
To PAMT down below regarding frequent urination sm
I, too, have to pee alot, and I get so tired of it.  I think i'm going to the doctor after the kids go back to school.  Sometimes I "leak" a little.  I'm only 36 and I don't want to have bladder problems!  I do love drinking water, and i don't know if it could be from possibly drinking so much water.  Sometimes i even feel a little pressure while doing "bedroom activities", and will even have to stop in the middle and go to the bathroom.  I normally don't have pain, but the sensation of having to go and sometimes pressure.  So no, you aren't alone.

problems; emails or otherwise. This place below, however, needs serious work.

Is she losing weight or having frequent
urination?  I know from a friend of mine that these are some symptoms.  Also, my friend had blurred vision to the point she was afraid to drive.  She went to an ophthalmologist for whom she used to work.  He suspected diabetes and checked her sugar.  It was over 600 in the office.  She has seen been an insulin dependent diabetic.  She was losing weight rapidly.  You are just being a good daughter.  Keep an eye on things for her.
the documentation only goes with her if she transfers her records (sm)
to her next doctor
Might be the case, but should you falsify your records
and then caught, what then? I would not want to chance that and besides, like I said before, physicians have ways of checking for things besides your telling them, for example you say you don’t smoke and then a test shows otherwise, you say no diabetes but then in eye check you have background retinopathy, no liquor intake- they can tell on that. All kinds of ways your body says things.
I frequent the faith board
and I just want to say I agree with you 100%. This woman was irresponsible and is a perfect example of what's wrong with this country. ME, ME, ME it's all about ME. No matter that her poor old parents can't even enjoy a retirement because they have once again been forced into parenthood, but now she wants other people to take from the mouths of truly needy children (and animals!) and give to her brood.

Unfortunately, in saying all this, it is true that the children are innocent and will need to be cared for. I have never had children, so I won't pretend to know how this should be done, but obviously this woman has some psychological issues that need to be dealt with.

And kudos to you for starting an animal rescue! I would love to do that one day, but for now I just give strays a home until I can find them a forever home!
Question about med records, privacy, and the law...

Today there was a newspaper article by Leonard Pitts.  He wrote about celebrities and their right to privacy.  He specifically talked about Farrah Fawcett's battle with cancer and how she knew that info was being leaked by someone in the hospital.  She proved it by withholding some info from all family and friends--that only she and her doctor knew--and the info still got to the gossip rags.  The hospital at first would not release the worker's name due to privacy policies.  Ironic, huh?  She apparently had easy access to the med record since there was a record of her looking at it more than anyone else did.  Eventually the worker was charged but died of cancer before being sentenced.

Anyway, my question is this:  If an offshore MT did this, could s/he be charged as well, either in their country or ours?  Or would only the MTSO be in some trouble?  I heard an offshore MT a few years back who threatened to release info if she did not get, I believe, an increase in pay, but do not know what the outcome was.

Birth records are public but are listed under
child's name - not parents - so not sure you could find out this way.
Anyone ever have very frequent urination but no other symptoms. What a pain this is. nm

Pugmom...How are you feeling today??.....
Did you get into the ED or your doc? What did they say? Hope you are feeling better today. Still keeping you in my thoughts.
As we do not hear from Pugmom, I guess
she went to the ER and they kept her there.
She will keep us posted when she returns home.
Pugmom....How are you feeling today?

We have not heard from you. How are you doing? Did you get to the ED? Did you get any meds? Hope you are feeling better and that no news is good news.

the checks should be right there in the store - sm
I would think. Or whichever store they run their office from. They should have been able to write one out for you then and there. I would not have left without it, they know you want the money and are going to jerk you around until you give up. I would think that you had a court judgement or order by now and they have to do it or be arrested, etc, could not the deputy arrest the store mananger for something, obstructing the order? Failing to comply, whatever. As for the bank, it would probably be one of the top 3 banks in the area, though I don't know if the bank would tell you if they had an account there. You can always make some calls and try to find out. If they won't give you the money, take your $700 worth of furniture, and obviously try to pick something you want to actually keep, otherwise you will probably only get half of what the retail is if you are lucky and you are still out a chunk of change.
Stimulus checks
I had a letter a few months ago but not a week before it should have been mailed. According to the website mine was to be mailed NO LATER than 5/23 - and I still don't have it. :(
i write checks
only when I have to, but I have adorable checks. I know it takes a BIT longer, but now with the new "slide your own card, then type 100 keys just to say OK to the transaction" it's about the same time, if you really think about it.

The thing about people stopping in the middle of an aisle OMG why why WHY do they do that? GET OUT OF THE WAY, MOVE TO THE SIDE, BE CONSIDERATE!!! im with you on that one
Give me a break. We are in medical records. I am not a trauma surgeon nor am I sm
an RN or even an LPN. I am on the administrative side for a reason. I originally went to college 3-1/2 years, to be a medical technologist (working in-house in a lab), and during those grueling 8:00 classes and labs all day, every day, I chose to get into the administrative part of medicine. So, you don't have to tell me about this being 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I know all about the 24-hour healthcare industry. I also did my intern at a 24-hour urgent care center, again, showing me that I DID NOT want to, nor could I, be available for someone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I know it is a privelege to work for him and I work Saturday AND Sunday. Tell me, as a manager, do you work every weekend?
I've heard in Calif they pull from both DMV and voting records
probably to widen the pool - so no help from me - sorry!
I believe non-DD people won't get checks for months. sm
Someone had a stimulus refund link on here, below, I believe.
To all those wondering about stimulus checks SM
who are not direct deposit . . Got mine in the mail Friday and my last two numbers were 06.
Re: Those economy-stimulation checks - sm

I still haven't gotten mine, and will believe it when I have it in my hand.  Worse, I just got one of those "Return Information Notices" in the mail.  Well, guess what?  The state of Calif. did a little number-rearranging, (or should I maybe call it "fuzzy math"?), and my state income tax refund has been changed from over $300 down to ZERO.  When you call the number on the website, and finally get a live person to help, they very helpfully refer you to "someone who can go over it with you", and then the system tells you it's too busy, and hangs up on you!

And get THIS:  The actually had a LOWER taxable income than I had calculated.  So how do they figure I am suddenly owed NO refund?  It sure sounds like that's how the gov't. is funding those economic stimulus checks.  Like I'm really sure that gypping us like that is going to create an economic stimulus.

Looks like once again, this Calif. taxpayer has been Californicated

I agree. We have to pay out a lot. The stimulus checks should be for everyone! sm
I owed 4800 this year. BUT no stimulus check. Ok, fine, can accept that btu shoudn't my "stimulus check" go toward what I owe!!! Sorry but my bills are going up just like everone else so I don't deserve any "extra" either??
arrested for bad checks - not Caylee
very unusual for someone to be arrested that way for bad checks, that scened was sooo dramatic. The cops must hate her too
I use checks, but have streamlined the process - sm
by filling out everything but the amount (date, signature, phone number) on the check, & entering all info. into my check register except the amount, before even leaving for the store. Check is torn out, and in my wallet where I can just pull it out, write in the total, hand it to the cashier, and take off as soon as she gives me the receipt.

Nowadays their computer/cash machine setup takes only seconds to verify the check. I usually wait to fill in the amount in the check register until I get home.

It's weird, but often I find it takes longer to pay with money than it does with a check. (Especially if I have a bunch of change and I'm trying to pay with the exact amount.) That seems to freak people out in line even more than using a check.

Also, nowadays the checker ends up doing the bagging, too (seems the stores have cut WAY back on hiring baggers.) So as he or she finishes each bag, I put it in the cart from where I'm standing, so he or she doesn't have to walk around the counter to do it. And I grab things like milk jugs, big 12-pack soft-drink cartons, cat litter, and other big things that don't really need a bag.

Anyway, I find doing just those few things seems to get me through the line pretty fast.
free credit checks.

Is there a way to obtain your credit report for free?  I have never checked it.  I have always been afraid to, but now I would like to check it now matter how bad and figure on a way to make it better.  I have looked on line and found several sites offering "free" credit checks, but then pay a monthly fee for something.  I don't want any monthly fees as that is my problem now.  I have too many straws in my bank account.  I was wondering if my bank would do it or maybe an 800.  If I ask, would I get laughed out of the building imaging something for free? TIA.

if actual threats then report it; keep all records/emails/calls for reference
nm
no, nobody knows but the bank, they will cover checks you wrote
nm
It was my understanding, the checks are mailed out on Fridays, and
delivered..provided the mailing address was correct!
How much are stamps these days???
Checks could be in taxpayer mailboxes by June, according to an Associated Press report.
