Scared mom --sorry for the long post

Posted By: Jestme on 2007-09-01
In Reply to: My 19-year-old daughter wants to join the Army. I'm very scared at the thought. Any advice out th - Scared mom

I am the widow of a man who served his country PROUDLY in the Army for 21 years, retired and later developed cancer as a result of Agent Orange while serving in Vietnam. As a result, I have certain military "privileges", however, the VA turned around and changed his diagnosis from "cancer of the larynx" which was his ORIGINAL diagnosis made by a civilian doctor, to "cancer of the hypopharynx which was made by his VA doctor and hence, this was NOT covered by Agent Orange and as a result, I have lost monetary compensation to the tune of right now, approximately $300K, however, I do have other benefits.

I regress, but getting back to your original post, my daughter joined the Army VERY shortly before the Iraq war started and was stationed in New York State when 9/11 happened, needless to say, I was a nervous wreck as she had JUST moved with her then husband and I did not have her new phone #. Thank heavens for a Sprint directory assistance operator who understood the situation and even though they had a nonpublished number put me through to their residence anyway.

Women in the military are subjected to testing regarding vocational skills, just like their "male counterparts" -- for example my daughter was actually into more of the satellite communications end of things and NEVER saw or would have never seen combat. She PROUDLY served her country for 3 years, received the money to go to college, has remarried, has her own home, a soon to be 2-year-old daugther and is finishing up her nursing career as well as working.

The other side to this picture is that with a military career, if she decides to make it a CAREER and "advances", she can retire at a relatively early age (at least early to mid 40s) and have a lucarative retirement income for LIFE, as well as being still young enough to pursue other opportunies in the "civilian world."

Hope this helps.

Long post gone sm
Of course, we have too much else to read here, the list goes on. Why share someone's true battle with work and cancer DX? Someone dumped their heart out and it's too long!
Before the post gets buried below regarding credit - very long message sm

I just wanted to share with the posters who were considering bankruptcy.

Unless you are on the verge of losing your home, I would strongly encourage you to consider another option.  Bankruptcy does not just go away after a few years.  It's there forever.  Even if you rebuild your credit afterwards, it's still there - a haunting demon.   A friend and my in-laws also filed bankruptcy in the past.

My in-laws filed over 20 years ago and have recovered financially but it's still there.

My husband is a credit card spender.  I would only spend when I had the cash and did not depend on credit.  It didn't matter though.  Our spending habits combined nearly led to our financial demise a few years back too.

This is what I did and I hope you give it a try and it works for you too.

I started with a complete inventory of all of our bills, separating them into three categories.

Home  (mortgage and utilities)

Credit cards - (lowest balance to highest balance regardless of the APR)

Miscellaneous bills (entertainment, clothing, food, gas, fast food, etc.)

Since the Home category is pretty consistent every month, I set up a budget for that first.  I went back through our utility bill for the year prior and chose the highest month bill of the year and added that amount to our mortgage amount.

Next, I reviewed our telephone, internet, and television (satellite) bills.  On average, I was paying about 230.00 per month for them all combined.  Way too much in my opinion.  I started shopping around and found a bundle package with Verizon.  Now I pay 153.00 per month for unlimited long distance telephone, satellite TV, and DSL service.  Saved $77.00 per month, just doing that.

Then I added this amount to the mortgage and utilities.  This totalled amount is what I know I absolutely have to pay every month and I better make sure it's in the account.

Next, I did the Miscellaneous.  I'm a paper keeper, meaning I keep EVERY receipt and then purge them about every 3-4 months.  I started going over what was spent where and learned that we spent a lot more than we really needed to.  I set up a weekly grocery budget and a fun budget.   If there was anything extra at the end of the week, it was divided evenly between the two and added to the next week.  I do this every week until the end of the month.  If there is anything left over, that amount is divided in half again and half is divided again and added to the following week's budget (grocery and fun), the other half is locked away in the savings account.

The money for monthly gas was a little trickier when the gas prices skyrocketed.  I first had a set limit for gas each week but did have to adjust that.  I did manage to adjust it a little bit upwards and still be able to pay the cards down (see below.)

Also, every time I spend cash, no matter if the amount is $5.01 and all I need is a penny, I don't.   Instead, I will give them $6.00 and get 0.99 change to put in my giant size espresso cup of change.  When the cup gets full, the change is rolled and turned in to the bank as a deposit into the savings account.  My cup last gave me $281.00 change to put in the savings account.  That was in March.  It's full again so will be adding at least that much to the savings account again very soon.  Nobody touches the cup!  They might lose a finger or even a hand!

That being said, and having two set amounts for each budget, I then subtracted that amount, plus the Household amount from our combined monthly income.

Lastly came the dreaded credit cards.   To be honest, I was floored when I learned just how much credit card debt we had.  My husband had wracked up over $40,000.00 in credit card debt alone.   Since he paid his own credit card bills each month, I had no idea.  Even worse than that, he is very inconsistent about paying his bills on time so he had late charges and the interest rates were way the heck up there.  It was terrible.

I took each of his cards most current statements and started from the lowest to highest balance.  The lowest one was about 1200.00 but the interest rate on it by that time was 22%.  This is where I started.

I had him call the company and basically gave him a script to go by (my name wasn't on the cards or I would have done it myself).  He requested a decrease in his APR on each and every card.  Two of the five card companies agreed on the first call.  The 22% card was reduced to 11% so they cut it in half.  Not as low as I would like but it was a start.  Another card was up to 31% and they reduced that to 20%.  The other three didn't budge the first time.

This is where I made two 'necessary' purchases.  The first one was MS Money software.  I highly recommend it.  You can set up your checking, savings accounts, print your checks, balance your checkbook in about 5 minutes, pretty much a no brainer software that really keeps you in line with your bills and spending as long as you remember to faithfully enter any debit card purchase in your check register provided with the software.  It will also link to many banks to update your balances online.  You can also set it up to remind you for upcoming bills. (Maybe if the husband had used this earlier, we would not have been in this situation?)

The second purchase was about $8.00.   An accordion file folder for the monthly statements.  Husband always threw his away and I can't even begin to tell you what a dumb idea that is.  KEEP them.   Organize the tabs for each bill and put your statement in when you pay each bill.  I also write the date and the amount when I make a payment somewhere on the statement, then keep them in chronological order.

The actual payments came next.   The smallest balance card was paid off first.  All of other cards only got the minimum payment PLUS $1 more.  I started doing this just for my own peace of mind I guess but I learned later that this actually helped us a bit when negotiating the lower APRs on the three more stubborn cards.  It may have only been $1 extra but it was EXTRA payment and, believe it or not, they do look at that.

Excluding the card to be paid off first, I added up the minimum payments of the remaining four cards (plus the extra dollar to each of those) and decided on an amount to pay the lowest balance card to get that balance moving toward 0 as fast as I could.

In this case, I decided on 200.00.  This left me with a little over 200.00 extra (I call it mad money but it really goes into savings anyway -planning ahead for birthdays, auto insurance, Christmas, and emergencies.)

I had that card paid off relatively quickly in a few months.  When it was paid off, the card was cancelled and that 200.00 was added to the minimum payment (plus $1) on the next lowest balance card.  After the first month of this, once again, had the husband call his credit card company and ask for a reduction in his APR.  This time it was granted.  Should also mention that this card was one of the three that refused the request the first time.

The first six months or so of this was a mildly painful transition.  He was used to whipping out a credit card, I was used to having cash on hand for whatever I wanted.  It wasn't going to happen anymore.

Finally, I was down to the last remaining card (754.00 per month payment by this time, having applied the payments for each card to the next as they were paid off.)

When I got to this point, I started shopping around for cards with rewards programs and started comparing those cards.  The last card I was paying on also had a rewards program but not quite what I wanted.  I wanted to know if the terms were negotiable.   It was!  How about that!

So, instead of losing a valuable customer the card company decided to keep me.

Now I get 3% back on purchases of most things as long as I pay the balance in full every month (which I do).  Any kind of air or rail travel purchased with the card is a 6% reward.

I no longer use a debit card.  The husband is not allowed to get a credit card again but instead, takes a certain amount of cash every week.  Say what you want but he got us into this mess pretty much so he has to live with it now.

It's been a few years now working with this system but it has been very good for us.  I find that I average about 400.00 per month AFTER the rewards bonuses kick in so essentially I am able to bank another $354.00 per month in savings.  It adds up quicker than you might think.

Should also mention that we have two teens still at home and they can really be expensive.  They were made a part of the plan and do their part to help out too.  Their contribution is mostly the avoidance of fast food all the time.  They can come home and have a meal or eat before they leave. Things like that.

Sorry for the lengthy post but hopefully I can help anyone else get out of a potentially bad financial situation like we faced.

Now I'm scared (sm)
I suggested a trial seperation and he disagreed a little at first but then he became completely agreeable to it all of a sudden.  That worried me so I told him I wasn't sure what we should do and then he said if I am asking, then I must not want to leave.  My fear is that he is being so nonchalant about it all of a sudden.
not scared
I'm a rebel by nature and I simply learned to be what other posters called "sneaky." It wasn't my mom I was scared of. It was my father and fortunately he was out of town every week for about 10 years of my growing up years. He was mean in a serious way, much worse than I could post here. Took some therapy to help me deal with that after he died.

I'm not scared of authority figures, but because of my rebellious nature I tend to push my limits. This is something I was born with and I'm sure the other things that happened as I was growing up didn't teach me how to deal with it well.

I tend not to let anyone get close, but I'm very sociable and make friends easily. I do have a problem with people who act like bullies...I tend to force their hands and show them for the cowards they are.
im scared to be a mom....
Honestly I am afraid that I won't be a good one. I know in my heart I would be but I also know that I will be a constant worry-wart about EVERYTHING. more so than now and that's tough to deal with. When anyone goes on trips im like CALL ME AT EVERY STOPPING POINT. anything... even with Ally she was napping with me and i had to just keep checking her breathing constantly. I dont know how i would handle it!!!

Also Im quite selfish right now and also have no money. HA. But I also really do want a family. There used to be nothing I wanted more, and then that changed a couple of years ago and I dont feel that same yearning that I did then. I wonder if I will again... if i dont im not sure what ill do with my lonely self!

So you have no grandchildren? Apparently it's the best thing ever at least my mom says :)
And your daughter sounds awesome. I used to want to be a kindergarten teacher until I got into MThaha. Then i wanted to volunteer in the NICU back home went through the evaluation and shots and all, then moved out here... i have yet to sign up for that.

Okay here ill be honest I want babies and toddlers, but i dont want kids or teenagers!!! hahaha :)

have a greet weekend
Not scared here at all
You cannot stop whatever happens but I am still working as is my hubby and if things happen, oh well is how I look at things. Years ago when my mother was dying I tried everything to keep her around, didn’t work and learned life is like it turns out. My daughter, who is grown, tells me she is "really scareddddddddd." I told her to quit listening to all the negative things going on, especially the talk radio she seems to want to believe. My hubby is one true positive person (me not as much) but he says all this negavitivity is just wrong. It wears you down and just no use in doing so.
Let me see, in the 50s and 60s were scared and
first people were building bomb shelters, then we had the face masks for the gas bombs in case those were dropped, I hear now on Sean you can buy things called Survival Seeds. This never ceases, every so often the US just has to scare itself really bad. Did I tell you the one really scary? That was the year 2000. Everyone thought the world would probably explode then, all kinds of things predicted, computers would not change, watches not work, people were thinking end of time. Oh, wait, that is again this year with now the swine flu.
ER MT - that photo actually scared me
I was up late half awake and that photo popped up! Then I thought, you know that's a lot like me when I do ERs!!! Of course, for me it's because I'm not so smart yet and a bit frazzled. New specialty, just sometimes. Thanks for the giggle!
Thank you, I'm not scared though, just disgusted (sm)
I am not feeling threatened by him, just feeling disrespected and I am feeling disgusted. Thank you so much for your concern though. I agree that some situations are dangerous and if I felt threatened I would get help. I am scared of how he will act once I decide to leave, but I think it will be more malicious financial issues on his part, not really violence.
Maybe that's why your scared. Your thinking
too big (moving out of state).  Money?  If you've been married for any length of time - he pays you.  Hope there are no children involved.  Being scared is not a reason to stay with your husband.  Why continue to be miserable?  I feel sorry for you.  Sounds like you live to please others and the heck with your own feelings.
My ex was scared of bats

For a while we lived in an old house and a bat kept getting in.  The ex would hide in bed under the covers and scream while I got a tennis racket and would manage to trap and remove the bat.  How macho is that, LOL!

My mom is scared of a lot of things (bats, mice, worms), so from necessity I learned to not be afraid of them.  The only thing I never got over was fear from being immersed in cold water - never learned to swim, and even being in a cold shower makes me hyperventilate.

I'm scared of BEES. -sm
One or two, I can sort of deal with, as long as I'm not in close quarters with them, such as in the car. But more than 2 or 3? I'm outta' there! Large numbers of any bug or insect creep me out. I'm also scared of sharks, seaweed and jellyfish.

I'm not scared of mountain lions, (though I have yet to meet one face-to-face). I would really like to see one someday while hiking. (At least I know not to run!) I'm not afraid of doing things alone, like long drives, flying, or traveling to other countries. In fact I prefer it that way.

I can deal with spiders. Don't like 'em but I used to live in a place that reminded me of the movie "Arachnophobia", so I learned how to get rid of them and prevent their return by targeting the nests outside the house. Nowadays I have a cat that spends her days hunting them, so I rarely see one (at least alive) anymore.
I would be much more scared of the pit bull
than someone trying to break into my house. I do animal rescues and 1 place I rescue from (animal shelter) will not let this breed be adopted by Jane or John Doe- they are just considered vicious. They are put down rather than adopted out.
When I was a scared 21-y/o I stayed - sm
in San Diego a few days by myself after a trade show had ended so I could do a few things there on my own. The company footed the rental car and I paid for the 2 extra days in the hotel, which my former boss paid maybe $40 a night for at a very nice Marriott...on the conciege floor. (he would lie and say he was a travel agent and get incredibly cheap rooms). I never made it to the beach but did do the San Diego Zoo with the bosses wife before the show....then after when I was on my own I went to the Wild Animal Park about an hour up the coast. I had the best time despite being alone. Had a beautiful drive up the coastal highway, etc. I'd never done anything like that on my own before so I really enjoyed it. I hope to take my kids out there one of these days, maybe in the next 5 years and spend a week at least out there, have 3 friends living in various parts of CA so it would be fun to visit them.
Scared Dogs

I know it's strange, but all 3 of my pugs sleep right through thunderstorms unless they're particularly violent.  Only a really loud crack of thunder directly over the house will cause them to look at me with concern.  Then, they go back to sleep.  Good old pugs - all ya need to do is feed, bathe, water, walk and pamper them.  They sleep probably 21 hours a day.  And their waking hours are usually amusing.  Maggie cannot stand to see a dog or horse on TV.  She goes running up to the TV, sees the dog or horse disappear, then proceeds to try and look around the back of the TV to see if that's where it went.

Have you checked with your vet to see if there's something you can give your babies so they won't get so upset during thunderstorms?

We as a nation are so scared now days
My grandmother lived to 75 and her daughter, my aunt, now 86 and both used and told me about Campho-Phenique and get this, when I had an ulcer in my mouth my aunt told me to use this. Now I do not go about swishing and swallowing but used it on the sores, got relief and well, I am writing this post. It can be used in the mouth with no problem.
Me again! I am so frustrated, scared, and upset over here. I'm sorry, but sm

my husband doesn't understand and my other friends homeschool (as do I), so I have no one to talk to about this. My 3-1/2 year old has been crying all day. What is wrong with him? Not crying, but unplugging stuff for my computer, unfolding laundry, taking DVDs and throwing them all over the floor.  So, I spanked him, yet again, and nothing is working. I sincerely cannot take this.  I cannot, I cannot, I cannot.  I have to put him in a program somewhere.

I am crying so hard right now because my husband and I are both advocates for homeschooling and having the children at home. I am suffering having to spend the majority of my day spaking and disciplining an unruly child which gives me no time to homeschool his brothers.  They (the other brothers) hate to see their little bro get into trouble, but what is one supposed to do? There are 3 of them and 1 of me.  I just lost it a few minutes ago as he just started tearing things up again. Here are the options: Get rid of every single electronic thing in my household (including my work computer), tv's, Playstation 2(which is 10 year old brother loves), and everything else and go back to the days of old where it was just mom, kids, and dad at work.  I'm seriously thinking he is just too distracted and can't help it.  OR solution #2, put him in daycare somewhere (this makes me cringe, cry, sob- because he will be just a number there (I know - I worked for one for a long time - I don't care what anyone says), or in a pre-K program somewhere, but around here they only last for 2 hours (GA). I know, because I've checked.

Anyone else with similar situation? I'm thinking of putting them all in school so I can work since I have to work. Our expenses outweigh husband's income. I must work. I only work at night, though, so that isn't an issue during the day.  I am at my wits end.  I know if I work, though, a lot if it will go towards daycare.  But inside my head and heart, I can't take this. I don't know why, I just can't do this anymore.

Scared to quit smoking - sm

I have another friend who quit smoking 3 years ago and now has lung cancer.  I know (and have heard of) many people who quit (ACS can tell you how your lungs supposedly improve and risk of lung cancer death diminishes compared to the general population) smoking only to be diagnosed with lung cancer after several years.  This IS NOT a mental excuse for me not to quit.  It really does frighten me.  Been a smoker for 30 years.  Seems worthless to fight to quit and die, or just keep smoking and die.  Anyone have any thoughts?  I have no one affected by my second-hand smoke.

Depends if it is long with pregnant pause um no. If it is long and juicy like an op YEP! Short ones

Am scared of tornados and alone today and quess what?
I am here alone with my animals and we are having a tornado warning for my county. There is a rotation from a tornado that is approximately 2 miles from my home as I type. Please send up prayers, really scares me. Thanks
Want to leave my marriage but I'm scared!! Need viewpoints (sm)

I am worried about finances and insurance because I am an IC MT.  I have two children and worry about them as well. But I just can't see staying in this marriage any longer.  I need to hear from women who have made the decision to leave and made it!!  Please?

Good Lord...this would have scared me to death (sm)
Not gonna say what state I am in but the patient went in for surgery on his kidneys and was mistaken for a neurosurgery patient and had his head shaved before they realized he was the wrong guy...he cancelled his kidney surgery and went the heck home!  Poor guy!!
I'm scared to death of people in huge SUVs plowing across
It's scary!!!!!

I had it during my pregnancy a long, long time ago. Husband

My 19-year-old daughter wants to join the Army. I'm very scared at the thought. Any advice out th
Before the Iraq war, I would have been more excited that she wanted to do something positive with her life for a change, but this thought is scary as we know people that have lost their children in the war. I know in some ways this could turn her life around and be what she needs as she is very immature and is going down the wrong road, but are there other alternatives.  A lot of people tell us it's still a good time for kids. Any thoughts out there?
How long is too long to wait for Pap results?
This is a follow up Pap for an abnormal one a few months back.  I have waited for the results for over a month and have called the office once.  Any advised about being a patient patient - LOL.  Its hard when your in this business, I think anyway, not to be more aggressive about stuff like this.
How long?
Crap, havent heard- 1 hour this week or 2 like last week? Thanks
as long as a dog
is in its carrying bag, he is in his space, not yours.  Some dogs are sooo tiny, it is not even noticeable.  I know of people who use doggie strollers for such places. Frankly, I am leery of people who have this kind of attitude.
I don't know what took me so long.
You can actucally understand the words and there is a definite meaning to the song. Although, when I put country on my hubby and kids say "my ears are bleeding". Oh well, I work for an ENT, I can help them out. LOL
Wonder how long this goes on. nm
:
In the long run they say it's the same or
possibly cheaper to sod. But yes, the initial cost is a little scary compared to the first treatment with seed. But seeding can be never-ending, especially if you don't water enough. We should have done this in the fall, but that's when our dog was so ill.
But not for long

The poster below really gave some good advice.  The behavior she describes is "him" to a T.  I actually had almost forgotten about him until the Lacy Peterson story came out.  Scott Peterson looked so much like him it creeped me out. Good luck.

Thank you so much - it's gone on so long (sm)
What are the traits of a passive-aggressive person?
I do believe my weight is a symptom of my marriage. It all started right from the beginning - I was fairly attractive back then and got asked out by men all the time. Yet right after I got married, there was this weekly lunch with his coworkers where all the guys and their wives/girlfriends met for lunch - he told me that I could not go because, "I'm not exactly proud of you." I don't know why I stayed at that point - there were no children involved yet - but I just felt like I had to try to make it work.
how long has it been
that she has cancer?  She is probably trying to give you comfort as you give her.  She is a sweetie.
so, how long did it take and
does he have to continue the medication to keep away the urge?
I went through this myself not too long ago -sm
Definitely keep up the salt water gargles.  I used warm water with mine.  Something that gave me nearly instant relief was Chloraseptic Spray.  Hope you feel better soon!!
How long does it normally take to get
labs processed?  Dr's office took lots of blood this morning to check everything, glucose, lipids, etc and said she'd call as soon as the results come in.  What's a "reasonable" amount of time to wait?
How long have you had the cat?
xx
this is long
I went through this with my son, who is now 24 and drug free. Take your daughter to therapy, and anything else you feel necessary, if for no other reason than to assure yourself you have done everything you can. Try getting together with the parents of some of her "friends," (she doesn't have to know you do) and just try to keep one step ahead of her. I used to look around my son's room to see what I could find, any pot - I threw it away. You just have to keep telling her, you are not the enemy, you are on her side. It is very hard to go through, I know, but they do come out the other end and you have your child back.
How long has this been going on?
How long has your mother had this type of behavior. It sounds like these symptoms; inappropriate behavior, saying things without thinking about them first, might be a signal she has some sort of neurologic problem or the onset of a form of dementia going on. You might notice if your mother has been forgetting things lately, seems detached. If this is not her regular personality, and this is something new for her, then I would gently talk with her and ask her if she is worried, under pressure, or sees anything wrong with how she acts. She might have to see her doctor. My mother exhibited these signs and symptoms around age 60, and then later was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. However, if her memory is good, she is coping with daily life and is able to handle things on her own, she needs a wakeup call. Her behavior in front of your daughter is inappropriate.
ALL OF THE ABOVE...sry a bit long lol
My children and I have been "cleaning toys" if you will and weeding out clothes to give away on freecycle. We put 3 bags of toys and 1 bag of clothes out there and they went to a very deserving grandma and grandpa who just took in their 4 & 6 year old grandsons. I am trying to teach my boys that it is not all about the gifts you receive, they are 3 & 9 so it is a bit hard to do with all the commercials and my 3yo wanting every last thing he sees. I let them decorate the tree after I put the lights on and they have a blast. We celebrate the birth of Jesus and attend church. First on Christmas morning we discuss the meaning of Christmas and the birth of Jesus and they enjoy going through our boooks we have about that as well.
I think so.....but it was so long ago- nm
xx
as long as they get it right
I've seen people point to the general area, or to the labia, & call that the vagina. It's almost worse than calling it a peepee or a muffmuff or a kitty.
How long ago was that and
how old were you then?
For someone who is on her feet all day long
how about a gift cert for a pedicure. She would get a foot massage, pedicure, and a back massage if they have those magic finger chairs.
As long as you have an income
As long as you have an income you file.  Over 70 is for social security where you can earn as much as you want and still collect your full SS.  Boy is that was true all of the rich would be lying about their ages so that they did not have to pay taxes.
wow, what a mess to go through for so long!
The reason for having to file CS orders against both is that my GD gets a small welfare check each month, Medicaid coverage and WIC (for now and free school lunches later). All CS attempts/costs are handled by the state agency, not a private attorney. They now have an interstate agreement that is supposed to be more efficient, but hey, that is their ball of wax. Any money they collect goes to the state first to repay the aid my GD gets, along with all the associated collection fees...so I really am not holding my breath (might pass out! lol) on EVER seeing any money. Neither of them can ever have custody of the child again due to the laws in my state, so what I have is the next best thing to adoption, plus GD gets the aid. So, I'll let the state do their thing - they are rated very high on the list of collecting CS as compared to other states - and now that I'm done with court appearances, I will just raise my little one and let those that need to worry do it for me :)

Thanks for your support and advice!
If you have been seeing the same stylist for a long
time, then I don't think he/she should put this new charge on you.  I would tell him/her that you are not too happy with the price increase since you have been a loyal customer and let her know that in all honesty your hair is short and does not require the cumbersome task of drying long locks.  Ask him/her to recommend a new stylist that does not charge as much at another salon or even within that salon itself.  I'm sure you could work something out.  In our area, the stylist rents the chair, so the increase is put forth by the stylist and is not a salon-wide increase, but there are salons where the stylist charges more because they have gone to school and are really "up on things", new trends, etc.  Another thing to consider if the price has to be is to not go as often.  After you've paid your $60.00, explain to the scheduler that you will have to wait an extra 2-3 weeks before you come back for another cut.
no sympathy, as long as they are
rightly convicted. I myself have been molested as a child, not severely, not even long-term, but it has had a PROFOUND effect upon my mental/emotional/sexual being. It took flashbacks after almost 30 years to piece it all together and understand the impact upon my life. and NO, i don't think they 'rehabilitate'. I think life in prison is the minimal most of these offenders should do. Death would be better for the more persistent and violent offenders.
How Long Have You Been Married?

My hubby did that after we were married about a year or so.  He just liked my stuff, i.e., lotions, body wash, etc...He was my Ken doll; I would "dress him up," fix his unruly, naturally curly hair, buy his shaving cream and cologne, etc...Since we would shower together, he would wash with what I washed with (usually Sun-Ripened Raspberry!) and if I took a shower before him, he would yell and ask where my body wash was.  Before we got together, he washed his body with shampoo instead of soap/body wash.  Men like to do that for some reason.

However, since that started soon after being married, I didn't think it was worrisome; just cute.

I, personally, wouldn't worry, but I don't know your husband.

She will be tossed before too long, maybe
next week. She is really horrible and she has this ain't I cute, humm, sorta like this person who left tonight, see I have forgotten her name already. Her voice, I agree, is the pits. Melinda is gonna be hard to beat. Lakisha better step it up. Love both of them, huge, powerful voices.
