Sounds like the daycare worker is telling you what you should notice

This is not being a busybody but a change and she is asking if something might be changed in the home. I think she is entirely in her right and should ask questions and you should not be paranoid in thinking she is asking about you. This is a crying child who is acting out of the ordinary and you ought to thank her and find out why the 3 is crying so much.

I have a co-worker that insists on telling me
I'm killing myself. I told him the Dr. said my grandmother may have lived longer if she had quit. He asked how old she was - I told him 93. Now he shuts up most of the time.
daycare
I just looked at her myspace and read her profile. She actually mentions the daycare and her kids and how great they are, which tells me she really likes what she does. I think she is young and doesn't understand the ramifications of her actions. If I were you, I would ask myself these questions - What was my opinion about her before I saw that? - and - If I were a 21-year-old daycare teacher, would I want a mother to warn me about what I'm putting out there or tell my boss and get me fired? - Honestly, I feel bad for her because I think she doesn't understand. Her whole world will change when she herself is a mother! Maybe she had a crappy role model. I hope it goes well!
daycare
For the record - if I had seen that it would bother me too! However, as I stated before, I would confront her and tell her how that made you feel. Remind her of VA Tech and unfortunately these days we just don't know.
Would it matter that she is almost 10 y/o and not in a daycare? sm
We were at soccer practice Monday night for her and last night for her sisters. Sisters are 12 and 6. they do not have them.
My daughter isn't in daycare either and...
just got over hands, feet and mouth disease last week. I actually posted about this a week or two ago when she first got sick. We just moved to a new state and she hasn't been playing with any kids, so we're not sure where she got it, but she definitely had it. Her sores started on the soles of her feet, then moved to the palms of her hands and then she had some awful sores in her mouth. The mouth ones were definitely the worst part of it! We had a really hard time getting her to eat anything for about 4 days and ended up making Slim-Fast smoothies with chocolate SF, ice, and banana Danimals yogurt. Hopefully, your daugther won't get the mouth sores, as not everyone does. Her doctor said there was nothing we/he could do but help make her comfortable and just make sure she gets plenty of rest. A couple of people on this board suggested Mylanta/Maalox swishes for the mouth sores and that worked great, if she ends up getting those. We didn't do anyting for the feet and hands, just had to wait about a week for her to get better. Good luck!
daycare teacher
Ask her about it. See how she reacts. Maybe she is in the military. Maybe she doesn't know its posted. You just never know. Ask her.
Daycare or not, ANYONE posing with a gun on the web
.
Daycare fund raiser
are you serious? Daycare rates are outrageous (not saying it's not well worth it -- I sure wouldn't want to care for someone else's children all day for the money the worker's tend to make . . . jes sayin). I cannot believe they are actually fund raising in the daycare centers these days. I'm hoping it's for a very worthwhile cause, and not for funds needed by the daycare center.
Opinions please on comment from daycare director
I am alarmed by something.  When I took my 3–year-old to the daycare this morning, the director stopped me and said my 3 –year-old has had many meltdowns lately.  She has had crying spells at the drop of a hat and asked if I had noticed anything.  I said no but both my kids act like it is the end of the world when they get told no and lately they get told no a lot because well, we are broke.  Their needs are getting met though.  Actually, this financial thing has taken a toll on us since I left my job at the hospital a year ago.    Bad move but we all make mistakes.  For the last 7 years I have taken both my kids to this daycare and this is the 1st time she has complained about their behavior.   Immediately after this conversation, the director asked about my cousin.  She said that she heard my cousin cannot be left alone.  I told her I haven't talked to cousin in a long time so I don't know what is going on.  My cousin has psych problems and has been in and out of psych wards since she was a teen so this didn't really surprise me.  When I got home I called my H and asked him if he noticed DD crying more.  He said not really but he said he will stop by the daycare to see what it is all about.  Then I called my cousin.  I told her I  hadn't heard from her in a while and was wondering if she was okay.  She said no that she had been back in the psych ward and CPS has been called on her.  She claims someone had overheard her say she was going to kill her 3-year-old child.  She claims that they are not letting her be alone with her child.  Her H has to be there with her and whoever watches with child has to have a thorough background check.  What really bothers me is the sequence of the conversation.  The director told me about my child then told me about cousin.  Is she accusing me of something?
I have been a much happier worker since...

....moving the bird feeders to in front of my office window!  I just love watching them all and seeing what else comes out of the woods for some seed and suet.  Lots of red squirrels and chippy's, the occasional cute grey mouse, and I guess even deer, but I never see THEM, just the tracks and the "raisinettes" around the feeder.  Our neighbor gets tons of wild turkeys at her place, as well as racoons, flying squirrels, and skunks!  She goes through about 50 pounds of black oil sunflower seeds as well as 25 pounds of dog chow (for the skunks, racoons, and larger critters) a week!  Can you imagine?!

My other neighbor has a wild Merlin falcon (a girl named Helln Fury), who he caught and trained himself.  Very cool bird.  Can't say I've ever seen one 'round here but I guess they do exist, you just have to know what you're lookin' at when they are up in the air.

Love the wild critters and glad so many others on here appreciate them too!

what kind of worker?

Hi,

Thought the topic to interesting so wanted to reply. I chose my hours 6 p.m. to 2 p.m because my husband works steady 11 p to 7 a. He sleeps in the evening so thought it woud be a good time for me to work. Then when winter started, which is only noticeable by the light) I started 5 p to 1 a. Works out good for me and like it because I always have some work under my belt for the next day. Also, we get to have our days off together on Wed. and Thur. Working well so far. In summer will probably go back to 6 to 2 so I can swim.

Dear co-worker
Stop calling me Fifty million times a day. If I don't answer the phone I am not home, busy doing something, or I just don't want to talk to you. Also, when you call stop calling my name so many times. I know what my name is.

Your co worker Me
Dear Co-worker of DH
I realize that your shift starts at 5 am but I would appreciate it if you would not call the house at that time unless it is a real emergency. The last 4 times you have called with the same problem my dh told you the same answer....I'll fix it when I get in. It is not a problem. Buy a clue and stop interrupting what little sleep I get.
what type of worker

You need either the converter box or a new TV that by law has to have digital in it.  I have a new TV and I scan the digital part of my TV.  I get maybe one station every few days, so obviously I have the capability otherwise I would not get any digital TV.  It is the reception as I live in a rural area.  I do have to get a roof top antenna.  I was wondering what type of worker does that?  When I look in the yellow pages, all it has is satellite and cable, nothing about antenna installers.  I was wondering can just a handy man that I would hire install one or do I have to get an electric contractor to do it.

The slain social worker one? nm
.
According the animal control worker..
We have one of the animal control worker's living across the street from us and she asked my son how Lily was doing tonight. He told her that she was coughing and she said that the dogs at Animal control all have kennel cough right now and to bring her out tomorrow for some medicine. I'm still just going to bring her to the vet because of her itching and all the mucous. I think I'll just go over to her house if I have any more questions about Lily.

Lily is probably stressed with all her new changes, but other than throwing up, itching and coughing, she seems to feel right at home. We bought her a big cushion for a bed and when I put the boys to bed at night, she goes to bed in her bed too. Anyhoo...thanks again for the support. I'll update after the vet tomorrow.
Do they by any chance have a social worker you...
could contact? That way, if the social worker stepped in no one in the family would really be so "involved" and it might save hard feelings further down the road but might have the same results.
What woman? What social worker?
We need a little more info to go on if anyone's going to try to help you out on this!  You've got me intrigued, though!  Lee
Dear Retail Worker
Do you know the reason I get upset about verifying my driver's license when I give you my credit card is because it is actually against the law to ask to see the license after presenting my card? Check it out!
Dear Retail Worker:
As a customer who used her charge card and had her identity stolen by the employee...BITE ME.
Unless you are a food stamp eligibility worker....
x
Food stamp eligibility worker, not!
I am not a worker in food stamps but I definitely in the past have known of several people getting food stamps that should not- one being my housekeeper- one being my deceased husband's daughter- both knew the system and "how to work it," cared nothing about having a real job, and just in for the handouts. Get this- my housekeeper had twin sons (grown now)- she got welfare for them, her sister claimed them on income taxes for years - I would call that double dipping. Oh, the daughter got welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, all the freebies and lived with a guy who worked for the city making good money. You don’t have to be a eligibility worker to have seen this going on. Oh, by the way, when I called internal revenue several times to tell them about things, do you think they wanted to talk with me?? I don’t think so.
Update on social worker from my post the other day (sm)

I posted the other day about where I had seen that social worker before, and couldn't find her on the cast list - wouldn't have helped if I had.  I was watching Sally Field on the Boniva commercial and it popped into my head.  Social worker was on that Boniva commercial where those 4 women were supposed to be being quiet in a museum.  Isn't it funny how the brain works?  - haha - especially mine.

Well I am early morning and evening worker
My body just does better and so I tell myself it is okay.  I go strong from 5 to 11, out to deliver, back and then work 1 to 3 at a clinic, back home and then 7 to 9 sometimes later.  Before I had the clinic I still took afternoons off as I am not a good producer in the afternoon and so I worked from 6 to 11 and then 6 to 9 or so.  But I have my own accounts and can let me body dictate when my productive times are.
Dear retail worker--Thank you for checking...
my ID. So few clerks actually do and I appreciate those who would not let someone use my card should it be lost or stolen.
Just an update on my Social Worker visit.

No one has come by yet, but it's only Monday, but I did get the house cleaned with the help of my son, his girlfriend, and two of his friends.  I took the advice below about shuffling all my ex-husband's junk to the garage.  He has a fixer upper car in the garage anyway, so I just piled stuff around it, on top of it, and in it.  The garage is a complete mess, but we don't live in there, so whatever.  My son and his buddies cleaned up outside the house too.  We had about 10 bags of trash for the trash truck this morning, but they took every one of them.  Thank goodness!!

I'm way more calmer now than I was on Friday when all this crap broke loose.  Thanks to everyone for calming me down.  I'm ready now for when the social worker stops by.  I saw another officer over the weekend at the gas station and he asked me about my situation, asked me if my ex was ever served and then told me that he was proud of me for finally getting rid of him and that he would talk to his boss about this whole "social services thing."  He said his boss (who was the officer at my house on Friday) doesn't really know the ins and outs of the community like the officers do and he'd make sure he let him know that my ex is the one causing all the trouble.

So that made me feel better too.  I just can't believe how ugly this is getting.  I guess I'd better prepare myself because it will probably get worse before it gets better.  The divorce is just beginning.

Don't want you to feel bad!! You're our funniest "co-worker" LOL (sm)
How long have you been transcribing? I seem to know a lot of transcriptionists, including myself, who have had these types of symptoms. Doctor told me the same thing once - wonder if it is from lack of movement or constant computer exposure?
Wal-Mart worker dies after shoppers knock him down
just read about it online. people are jerks. I can remember one time being in a line for ice cream at a fair, a very long line, and the person behind me was pushed right up against me. If anything like that ever happens again, i will turn around and says, keep your freakin boobs off me, you weirdie.
It's not the worker's fault. She has to follow the rules or be fired. sm
I've taken a lot of flack from a lot of customers, and the run-of-the-mill retail worker really has no freedom to make decisions. When the worker is caught between a yelling customer and a yelling manager, who do you think she'll listen to?
And if you take notice...
a lot of these posts just prove my point..
If you notice...
The OP is nagging on a few different boards here, trying to stir the pot. Ignore crabby patty.
Well at least he took notice!
I could have changed my hair to purple and my ex wouldn't even have noticed. Maybe that's why he's my ex! LOL.
and did anybody notice
as long as you are up, you might as well go to the bathroom and now you find you essentially have retrained your bladder?
Pet Notice

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door, at pet nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats:
1. The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

2. The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

3. I cannot buy anything bigger than a king-sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

4. For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years-- canine or feline attendance is not required.

5. The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

6. To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'niture.
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, they are an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Did anyone ever notice...
…on the television talk shows whenever a dietician is on they are always skin and bones? I would like to be slimmer but not look anorexic.
Yah, notice it is a BOY she is breastfeeding...anyone think about that?
LOL
I was so emotional did not notice and SM
made mistakes in mine as well.  No problem. I think we got our point across. I wish you and me could team up and wipe some of the needless suffering and abuse out.
No, but I got a notice saying I don't get a check!

I'd like to tell them what they can do with their "stimulus" package.

I didn't notice that in the pictures.
I think she actually looks like ZsaZsa Gabor's husband, the prince. lol. I don't think it is Larry B's baby, for some reason I just don't. And if not, I'd really feel bad for him but he should not be jumping the gun considering how many men she supposedly slept with.
But did you not notice, the neck issue
was resolved because the show had fixed her hair in a more becoming manner than did not expose her neck like when she first came on. I noticed the same thing at first but then here at tne end, not sticking out like a sore thumb.
You know what's sad? A lot of people won't even notice the mistake!
I see that one all the time. And my other pet peeve is 's added to make a noun plural.

Here's one that glared at me when my kids were little and attended a Catholic school. The children were in a big procession walking behind their school banner when I noticed it. The name of the school was Our Lady Help of Christians School.

Yep! The banner was printed as Our Lady Help of Christian's.

Back in the days when nuns were teaching in the schools, someone would have gotten a good whack on the knuckles for that one!
Nah, I wouldn't. I notice those things too but...(sm)
I always just let it go.
LOL I didn't even notice the site, just the pic!! NM
x
I didn't notice her clothing, just her
seal clapping.
I've notice that trend

Girls can't sew even enough to mend, guys don't have a clue about jumping a dead battery or towing a car out of a ditch (heaven forbid changing a tire), and nobody knows how to drive a stick shift any more!  Everybody has to call a professional to do the simplest things, it getting pretty creepy!  And if its not electronic, nobody wants one, presumably because its soooo difficult to read numbers that a needle is pointing to!  I went shopping for a plain old indoor thermometer and could not find a single one that wasn't digital and ran on batteries - even for CAMPING they have digital compasses! - what if your battery died out in the wilderness?

It seems like our focus is on playing with new entertainment gadgets and we totally ignore the need to learn any type of practical skills.  I'm 49 and I'm pretty scared that by the time our generation dies off, everyone will be so dependent on gadgets they would be entirely helpless if the power plug got pulled.  Its got to be pretty expensive to call a seamstress, or a tow truck, or a carpenter for the simplest things (or simply toss the malfunctioning item), but that's what the following generations will be in for, once the old folks are gone.  Nobody is interested in taking care of themselves, its all about what's convenient and easy.  Its pretty sad that with our amazing access to internet information, we are learning less and less and consuming more and more, stuffing our landfills with things we are too lazy/incompetent to fix, things that would be a treasure trove of good usable items for our thrifty, well-rounded grandparents!

I do not watch DWTS but did notice
on the previews, etc. I thought Shawn was what I would call stubby, not graceful at all, I thought sorta chunky myself.
Got an eviction notice today.
My paychecks have been so small for the last couple of months. I have not paid my rent for this month and already have a dispossessory notice.

I just moved into this apartment at the end of last month because it was less expensive than the place I lived before.

Sad.
Ever notice that if you do 2000-3000 lines a day...sm
that people don't want to believe you? I transcribe 2800-3000 lines a day in an 8 hour shift, 65 character line. I've been in the business 27 years, type 150 wpm and pretty much keep up with the dictators speed. Some folks try to accuse me of sneaking in lines outside of my shift to make myself look good... but these are people that typically type 60-80 wpm, stop every few minutes to take care of kids, neighbors deliveries, etc. and wonder why they can't meet minimum production standards.
Does anyone else notice a lot more hair shedding right now. It this seasonal or whatever. It seems
be worse when I wash it then when I brush it.
Anyone out there see Celebrity Apprentice last night notice...sm
that they didn't mention which team made the most sales like they always do - and even though the guys did the absolute worst job with their "sales trailer" they won?  It was obvious to my husband and myself that Gene Simmons really ticked off the Kodak people by not coming to their meeting and then the 2 gals he sent irritated them - so probably no matter what the other team did Kodak was determined to not let him win.   Plus Gene basically had his adult version of a temper tantrum at the end of being mad that Kodak didn't name him the winner and therefore he named 2 people that weren't a problem with the challenge to take to the boardroom to make Donald fire him.
Catlady is right. I notice that even with food my cat LOVES, and even when she is hungry, (sm)
she will often look at a bowl of freshly-put-out food, and then walk away from it. This happens more often if the canned food has been in the fridge & is a little cold. I think the main reason she does it, though, is because if I'm up and walking around, then she thinks there is a possibility I might want to play. Play is more important to her than food! If she sees that I'm occupied with something else, (like working...) then she eventually saunters over to her bowl & starts to eat. Also, cats usually won't eat it all at once. They tend to keep going back to "nibble" for hours. So don't remove it if she doesn't dive into it right away. As Catlady said, let it sit, and eventually she WILL eat.
