There is an item that has been advertising--sm

on TV for a couple of weeks now that is an epoxy type of material, which is supposed to bond everything. They show it forming a chain link and towing a huge semi. I cannot remember the name of it, but it is green, in tubes, and when you take it out, you squeeze it until it turns white, and then apply it. Perhaps someone else might remember the name of it.

UPDATE: Best Buy bans use of Christmas in advertising...

YOU can send a letter to Best Buy like I did at this link http://www.afa.net/petitions/issuedetail.asp?id=222

Here is what I wrote:

Dear Chairman Schulze,

Just a note to let you know I am deeply disappointed in your decision to ban the word Christmas in your "Christmas" promotions.  I ask you to reconsider. If, however, you still refuse to use Christmas I will not be shopping in your stores or online.  Additionally, I did not shop at Walmart last year and had planned to do the same this year until they changed their minds and realized their error and announced publicly that they would include Christmas this year in their advertising in stores, television, online, and print ads.

Polls have proven that 96% of Americans celebrate Christmas.  When AFA announced boycotting Walmart last year, 700,000 people stepped up to the plate and boycotted the corporation.  That does not include the Roman Catholics, who have quite a larger margin of people who also boycotted Walmart.

It is important that you realize this and truly understand what you are doing and how this can affect your business.

Businesses refusing to include Christmas in advertising.

What? No Christmas? I just don't get it.  For years, businesses have advertised Christmas, but now, ewww, don't even THINK of saying the word, ***CHRISTMAS***, for you might get THAT LOOK from someone who is ewwwww offended.  Offended? Give me a break!  I am supposed to accept every other religious nuance with open arms, but if I say MERRY CHRISTMAS these days, I get a very negative knee jerk response.  I'm sick of it.  So, I'm doing something about it, just like I did last year.  So, here goes...

TARGET - you're IN. I'll shop at your store because you are including Christmas in your advertising.

WALMART - you're OUT.  Not only are you not advertising Christmas, your snarky response to my email simply questioning your intentions really turned me off .  I also won't be shopping at your other company SAM'S CLUB either!
UPDATE - WALMART HAS ANNOUNCED 11/9 THAT THEY WILL BE INCLUDING CHRISTMAS IN THEIR ADVERTISING AND ADMIT THAT THEY MADE A MISTAKE.  SEE LINK HERE AND BELOW!  http://tinyurl.com/yd9gx9

KOHL'S - You're IN.  The letter you sent was very respectful and I appreciate that you will be including Christmas in your advertising.

SEARS - You're OUT.  Kwanzaa? You actually used Kwanzaa as a reason for not advertising Christmas?  Diverse cultures? Afraid you're going to offend other religious beliefs? Do you have a CLUE that Christianity is the NUMBER 1 religious belief system in America?

DILLARDS - You're IN.  Discover Christmas. Discover Dillards.  Good job.

LOWE'S - You're IN. Glad you smartened up and changed your sign from Holiday Trees to Christmas Trees...DUH!

MACY'S - You're IN.  Thank you for allowing your employees to now say Merry Christmas and for placing advertisements in your stores, television, online, and print ads.

VICTORIA'S SECRET - You're IN.  Christmas trees and music in your stores? What a novel concept. Kudos.

As of this writing, other stores as of last year not advertising Christmas are Kroger, Dell, Office Max, Walgreens, Staples, and J.C. Penney.  I'm doing research to find out if they've smartened up and changed their position.  I will post as I find out more information.

What it all comes down to, folks, is that these businesses CAN advertise Christmas.  Christmas was here FIRST, but fat cat corporations are trying to lump all religious holidays together into one even though they don't fall on December 25!  Does any of this make sense? People generally don't buy Thanksgiving gifts, but Thanksgiving is advertised.  Hmmm.  Interesting concept, isn't it?

Some readers may not like what I have to say and to them, I say...oh well.  I believe in what I believe.  In my opinion, there should be no reason to be offended by Christmas. If you celebrate a holiday other than Christmas, when it rolls around, celebrate it will a full heart!  I sure am!

You definitely have to return the item first before
you'll ever get a refund. Same thing as buying at a dept store. You're not gonna walk in and say you're unhappy with something, but you left it at home, etc. Also its always policy to pay for your own return shipping. One of the risks of buying anything on line anywhere really. Just the way it goes. I used to be a huge buyer on E-bay but don't even visit the place anymore due to the garbage I started receiving. My husband still sells now and again, but its just a different market - lot of garbage buyers and sellers. Sorry for your experience. It happens all the time. You still might end up with nothing, but if you paid via Paypal, and you returned the item and have PROOF (you need delivery confirmation or signed insurance depending on the coat's value) you have a good chance of having them get the $ for you. If you paid via charge card, call your company and have them put a stop payment or chargeback on it. Good luck.
Also, if there is a really popular item you want...sm
you could map out the store.  Saw this on the news once where a lady and her husband drew out a map and each aimed for a specific department/item.  It was pretty comical, but efficient when you think about it.  As for opening times, the ads will let you know.  Anyway, good luck!
$500-700 -- depends on what the big ticket item is! - nm

What do you want for your main protein item?

Whatever sale item is most important to you
start there...early. Sale ads from Wednesday night's or Thursday morning's newspapers should tell you the store hours and sale hours. Many end at 11am. My dd and I like to go about an hour after stores open, though it's still dark outside. The crowds that were waiting in line overnight for the big ticket items are gone by then, and most everyone else avoids the stores until the afternoon hours, thinking they will be less crowded. Wrong they are though. There are more employees on duty early rather than later, so things move more quickly in the morning hours. We've also found the earlier crowds to be friendlier. DD starts singing Christmas carols while standing in line and soon lots of others join in. She's a blast to shop with. Then we go to a late breakfast and go home before the unfriendly crowds show up. Hope your experience is an enjoyable one.
We let everyone pick one menu item
for Thanksgiving dinner. No one cares much for turkey, so we are having ham, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, corn, homemade rolls, asparagus, bruschetta, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, and Rice Krispy treats.

It is not terribly traditional, but everyone always has something they will eat,and the kids have fun making their choices.

One year the kids picked lasagna, grilled cheese sandwiches, shrimp cocktail, Pizza Rolls, and Pop Tarts. It was interesting and fun. It also alleviates some of the stress of trying to create the "perfect" Thanksgiving dinner.
most requested item from my pantry
Don't forget the sweet things tend to be the favorites when everyone is freaking out. We skipped the valentines day thing this year and made a massive pink cake that everyone made together and ate instead of spending tons of money on cards and candy.
Go to eBay help and type in item not received
it will then give you an option to file a claim.
Just curious...do you go shopping on Thanksgiving? Even for that one item you forgot?...sm

I do not work by choice....I made the choice to work for a service that is closed on those days...but if I CHOSE to work for a company that worked those days, then I would do what I was being paid to do.  We are not the only business where you chose to work for a company that requires this.  I do not think that people who work at Wal-Mart or K-Mart do so by choice, but because they have to.
