We had dinner at a very nice restaurant sm

and then went home and ate the top of the cake....not so great, but it was fun. We also watched our wedding video. We had a very small reception, no band or dancing, but the song I had the Time of My Life (from Dirty Dancing) was played over and over on our honeymoon, so danced in our living room to that song and well.......one thing led to another. It was very romantic.

Do you hide it? I did this in Houston last summer at a very nice restaurant sm
and someone knocked out the lock on the passenger side with a hammer or something (dented above the door handle) and took my Dooney & Bourke purse my mom got me as a gift. I LOVED that purse. But here's the good news. The only thing they got was my bag and a bunch of make up because I had my wallet with me!
Maybe a nice garden/gazebo/outdoor wedding at a club/restaurant etc nearby? Get

This native NYorker agrees! Nice restaurant meal & clean sheets

Did you see that OJ got kicked out of a restaurant
He and his attorney are saying it was race related.  Could it be that he's just an asz??   The owner was just on Fox and Friends and said it was because of the book OJ was going to put out.
Hopefully, some great restaurant here in...
Phoenix. DH is on a business trip for 2 weeks and me and my lil' ol' laptop are here too! Nice to work with sunshine and a warm temperature all right outside the hotel door!
One I was at a restaurant waiting

in line for a bathroo stall.  Finally a lady came out of onel and I went inside.  There was urine ALL OVER the seat.  I was just livid.  Okay lady, if you are too scared to sit down to pee because of the germs, then for crying out loud, WIPE UP YOUR PEE so it's not there for some total stranger to have to deal with.  Or hold it until you get home.

Gross, gross, gross.

Not sure if still there but the Hoop-De-Doo-Review/restaurant was a lot of fun!

I cannot shut up *LOL* - JUNIOR's restaurant..sm
which is ON Flatbush Avenue when you first get into BKLYN.....it's on the right going towards Prospect Park - it's been there for 50+ years and has some of the best food in NY......Junior's......(remembering all kinds of cheesecake....*lol*).....
A local restaurant had on its sign outside
AYCE DailEy specials...it was there for a while, but someone finally got smart and changed it.  This is a pet peeve of mine, too.  It drives my husband crazy at times when I start pointing out all the mistakes I see.  I saw one on some papers from school, but I can't remember what it was...but from SCHOOL...hello???
what ever the Japanese restaurant is cooking up

A GREEK restaurant with no lamb???--sm
not really GREEK then. geez. I LOVE real greek gyros!! yum!

as far as venison tenderloin, it depends on the age of the deer that was killed, how it was dressed and how soon, and most particularly on the COOK! The best meal I ever had was venison stew by someone who KNEW how to cook it!!! y'all made me hungry now. thanks!

niece and restaurant -- are those right? can't get 'em
just hate that.  i've added those to my Expander so they correct themselves... i know there's more ...

Dog found in the freezer at our fav Chinese restaurant sm
well what used to be our fav. Now closed. This happened in the 80s. We still love chinese food though. Have it almost once a week.
you went to a Greek restaurant and they didn't have souvlaki?

You should've asked for your money back!

I've met folks from all over the world and learned different types of cooking here and there...just home cookin'...nothin' fancy.

They're are so many different varieties of southern cooking as in every other part of the country.  I'm from NY and didn't know squat about jowl meat in the beans and the greens....salted everything...fat on top of fat...or deer for that matter.  I was voted least likely to ever whack, hack, pack and stack a deer for the freezer...and name the parts (including making deer sausage and bambi burgers with an old-timey hand grinder) and deer jerky.

Lamb would be a delicacy on anyone's table these days and isn't usually used in southern cooking.

Don't get me started on seafood...lived near the ocean and bay and I didn't realize how expensive that stuff was until I moved inland 'cause I just went out and fished or harvested it.

Now, give me a bambi burger and I know what to do with that!  Cat

Yes, just like hair salon, restaurant, and facials, etc. nm

Chicken quesadillas. Mine are much better than any restaurant...nm

Ah, that is sorta taking advantage of a restaurant
in fact might border on theft. I don’t think quirky, would be embarassing to me to have your family heist any and everything they could when going out. Do they go out other times or just on a special occasion? Rather than run the risk of someone in management asking me to pay for their "treats," think I probably might make them a dinner at home, then you could make sure to tie down anything valuable to you.
restaurant certificates? movie passes? Isotoners? nm

I live in Louisville and restaurant owners all over town are
applauding him for having done it. The restaurant he went to right after that was just around the corner and the owner there said he didn't have guts to not serve him.
Not the OP but good ideas, have you tried DiMillo's Floating Restaurant?
Deep fried lobster tails with that sweet dipping sauce and the lazy lobster where they clean and cut it all up for you and serve it floating in butter?!?!?! And my husband loved the lobster rolls they had everywhere. Gotta get back there :)
On our takeout Chinese restaurant menu - We delivery! lol

Speaking of Gladys Knight. She has THE BEST restaurant on Peachtree St. sm
called Chicken and Waffles. The BEST RESTAURANT in the area. I love it! Of course, that is my opinion. Good soul food. Love it there when I'm up there
In our town, the Chinese restaurant has a painted sign on window: Hot Wing sold here. nm

Book of movie passes? Gift card to a popular restaurant? Ice or roller skating

What a nice response by a nice mom
What a gracious, well-adjusted response to a rude, obviously maladjusted poster--Hard to imagine someone with such an empty life and such a petty spirit that they would take the time to post criticism about a kid's feet! (Some people really have major issues, LOL!)
Dinner Out
Usually once or twice a week with friends and/or the children.
What's for dinner??

Dinner
London broil on the grill with fried potatoes and onions and corn on the cob.
Dinner
I'm cooking up a pot of vegetable stew with Italian sausage.  We top it with pesto and parm.  I'm making cheddar buns to go along.
Dinner
Grilled cheese and turkey sandwich with a ceasar salad.
Probably just dinner
Either by ourselves or with our best friends, maybe rent a movie.
First dinner
I don't remember the first dinner I prepared for my then boyfriend, now husband...but I do remember the first dinner he ate at my house. It was butter beans, meatloaf, and fried potatos and cornbread! I was mortified when my mom asked him to stay then proceeded to give him the menu for the night. Well, to my disbelief, he absolutely loved butter beans...this was his favorite meal. I about died, being a 16 YO girl, but he loved it!

I'm making up a big pot of BBQ. You can usually get a pork loin on sale anywhere. I throw it in the slow cooker, cover it with water, and cook it for 24 hours. After that, I dump the water, pick out the fat, and shred the pork. I like to use sweet baby ray's original BBQ sauce.

This is inexpensive if you buy the pork loin on sale. I'm making some for a party tomorrow.

Usually 3-4 pounds of pork feeds 3 of us for about 3 days, unless one of us is really hungry. lol
Dinner

I will either have leftover vegetarian chili with cornbread, or leftover penne with cheese. I always cook enough to have leftovers because I hate cooking, especially everyday.  The kids (13 and 20 year old girls) will probably have fast food.  My 13 year old is a vegetarian like me so she will probably get cheese pizza or a veggie patty sandwich at Subway.  My oldest with probably have McDonald's.

What's for dinner? Looking for inspiration.
:x
What is or was for dinner? I'm hungry & want to fix something

Easter Dinner
Just read the post below about Easter dinner.  I have a question I am almost embarrassed to ask - does anyone know an easy way to get the rind off the ham?
Need help with Easter dinner.

I am doing Easter at my house for the first time, as I am the only one with kids in my family.  I am looking for something to do that is sort of traditional, but fun.  My family does not like lamb, but all else if fair game.  I would love any ideas to help me plan for my first real holiday feast!!! Thanks and hope you all have a great holiday!

What's for dinner tonight?

Sunday dinner

Well, yeah....The boys (23 and 25) come over on Sunday afternoon before they go work to check up on us old folks and eat up our food.  They'll come in and help with prep first.  We get a lotta laughs in the kitchen.

They've been cooking since about the age of  5 and 7...I didn't have girls and they wanted to be part of the process... sous chefs (cut this, peel that, okay this is how you sautee) ....worked for me and they'll never starve wating for someone else to cook.   Cat

Should I serve something before dinner?
Ok group, it is now getting to be that time again when I have to start thinking of the big dinner spread I am planning to have. I will have ham and turkey with all the trimmings but my question is this - should I have appetizers when the guests arrive, some kind of drinks, wine/champagne or just what? I can put on a good dinner when it comes to the food and all but just wondering what to do prior to the dinner. Thanks so much!
Looking for dinner ideas
We're having dinner guests on October 14, our friends, their 18-year-old son and his friend (who I've been told has a very hearty appetite).  It may be too cold to cook out on the grill by then.  I'm definitely not a gourmet cook, and I cringe at the thought of having dinner guests because I always wonder what would be good to make.  Lasagna is one of my favorites, but my 13-year-old daughter doesn't like it.  Would anyone care to share any ideas and/or recipes with me?  I know one of guests does not like onions.
dinner ideas
I don't know. I was kinda' thinking of broiling (or grilling if the weather permits) country style pork ribs.
Big dinner here this year but do I need
to thing about serving appetizers before dinner? It is like a show up and dinner is ready to be served so really no waiting around. Any suggestions about easy recipes?
breakfasts for dinner!
mmmm yes love those :)
I didn't take into consideration people's home lives.

I dont have kids... just two dogs! So that is why I just have a boring routine! :)

and my boyfriend doesn't eat breakfast. Man, i dont know how people do that!! :)

Sorry I have no ideas for breakfasts, im very picky as well as boring! LOL

I think I would wait until the dinner
before getting so upset. I understand there is obvious issues with your SIL and if it does pan out the way you have it in your mind right now, then you can be upset but I think it's a little premature to get that upset about it.

By the way, I'd call your daughter anyway!
Been a while - What's for dinner tonight??
Looking for ideas! :)
New dinner recipes
Hey all........I am sitting here (before lunch) thinking what the heck I'm going to make for dinner....I am sooooo tired of making the same things, week after week.....anyone have any new, easy dinner recipes??  Maybe your same-old will be new to me!
dinner ideas
Google pasta faglioli - easy and delicious, also chicken divan. I just love the one pot meals!
We don't have a holiday dinner without
mac and cheese. This is mostly due to my niece. The only thing she will eat at these major meals is kraft mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and rolls. She is 14 years old, but SIL and BIL have no problem with it. I am lucky, my kids don't like everything, but are good eaters and most of the time are willing to try new things.
