directly out of my husband's check and into a savings in another bank every pay period. I know that this is probably just a military thing, though. Also, I have a specified amount that I set up on the computer to come out of my paycheck every pay period that goes into an IRA and nother amount that goes into my son's college fund. In addition, we have one set up for my son's college fund out of my husband's check and one into savings at the same bank as our checking, so the bank automatically transfers it on paydays. That way, we really never see the money, so it is not that big of deal. We have also doubled my car payment and that comes out of hubbie's check in an alottment, so even though we bought the care in may, we are already several payments ahead. And--I only use money in checking, unless, of course, there is an emergency.
