This is going to sound harsh. I have been taking care of my own mother for a long time. Because I "worked at home" (i.e. not a real job), I got into this role. I am in it for the duration, but it has cost me thousands in lost wages. Thank God I work for a flexible company. Good luck, it is a tough spot to be in.
