In Reply to: what do you think about choosing your own ring - ???

DH and I enjoyed looking at rings together and trying them on, so he knew what I liked, but he actually selected the exact ring without me. He obviously has ideas about romance, which is kind of sweet - at least he cares, right? And just because you have talked about getting married doesn't mean you have been "proposed to," which is part of tradition you will look back on. The way it is done is a reflection of who your boyfriend is as well as how well he knows you. It said a lot about my husband that as soon as he got the ring, he came straight to my work at the hospital and presented it to me (in my scrubs, lol) in the hall outside the OR. Once he had it, he couldn't wait to give it to me - he was too excited. I wouldn't trade his way the traditional candlelight dinner because it was so adorable to me that he couldn't wait.
