What would really be tempting . . .

is to hold out and wait until they do catch it, and then tell them that you are so glad they finally called and that you had contacted them numerous times and spent many hours attempting to make them aware of the problem and have the billing corrected, having spoken already with "Joe", "Bob", "Mike", "Steve", and my personal favorite (the person I spoke with yesterday from Allstate) "Austin", but apparently they have relocated their employees to their office in India, and these Americans seemingly have picked up an Indian accent, making communication quite difficult. No matter how hard you tried to explain the situation, they just were not understanding you, and you certainly could not understand a word they said either. You had tried and tried to no avail to have them transfer you to someone who had not yet picked up the accent, or to someone in the U.S., but that was a seemingly impossible task, or perhaps they just did not understand your request. In any event, you had hoped they would contact you regarding THEIR error so that you could set things straight.

LOL, tempting...
But I'd be afraid they would figure it out. Did you purchase it all at once? What was on the bill? Maybe it's being charged separately? Wow. Strange.
Tempting, but...
Are you even in the market for a new house? If not, let it go and never share with her again.

If you are and you really want the house, get your ducks in a row and snatch it. How can she even afford it? I would also have a talk with her about how this makes you feel - like you aren't friends and she's just using you.

And totally unrelated to the house, stop doing this woman favors. Tell her because of the price of gasoline, she needs to contribute to your expenses or you can't run her or her child around. Just because it's on your way to anywhere doesn't mean it isn't an inconvenience for you.
while it might be tempting, know that the GRASS

and in your middle 50s, if you think the grass is greener - you may be possibly living in the Land of DE Nile......(denial).....and merely deluding yourself and you don't want *regrets* in your 60s, now do ya?

What's the old carpenter saying?  Measure twice, cut once........so I suggest you think on this FOR A VERY LONG TIME before you cut up the family.......unless of course, as another poster stated, unless your spouse is heavily abusive......which, again, you have not indicated.......

in either event, best of luck to you, I am sure this is not easy.......

Yeah and with her husband that must have been very tempting - LOL
Ric Ocasek? Ewwwwwww. I never understood that!
