Satellite/VCR
In the past I've had cable and my VCR worked just fine for me.  I know everyone raves about the DVR but I am more than happy with my VCR.  However, I know have satellite and cannot figure out how to get my timer to work with the satellite.  I can put VCR on channel 3 and put TV/Satellite on desired channel and get it to record by pressing record.  But I really want to be able to record things by using the timer so I don't have to be home to press record.  I know it has to be something really simple and it really baffles me that it will record if I press record.  If it did not work at all it would be less puzzling.  There is no mention in the manual about this.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
satellite
Anyone else worried about the US shooting at that satellite? I am worried sick about this.  If you read the information available it really looks like the govt is not making a big deal out of it so as not to panic us.  I guess my generation does not trust the US govt very much.  I feel they are not telling us everything and wish I could find out more.  Anyone else feel this way or am I getting crazy from the eclipse.
We had satellite.........

And I believe it was supposed to be around $89 per month, but by the time they add this charge and that charge it was running around $130 per month and we finally decided that was just too much for the little bit of t.v. we watched with the kids in school, my husband working and me typing, so we had it turned off.  We put a little antenna on our t.v., with which we couuld pick up 2 channels, which was fine for us.

THEN, the whole analog switch thing came about, that converter box wouldn't work for us, husband got laid off of his job so was at home all of the time and the kids were out of school for the summer, so we decided to get cable.  They have a special of $29 for a year and then it goes up, so I guess we will keep it for a year and see where it goes from there, but we weren't upset or anything without the t.v. at all.  I happened to like it much better.
