You're lucky (or he's lucky) the parents care

I have 2 kids just down at the end of the block from me and their parents don't give a rat's behind what they're doing.  They're real smart alecks - ages 10 and 12 (?), both in elementary school.  Apparently, they're quite the bullies at school, too.  They like to mouth to any adults when they whiz by on their bikes.  Is it wrong that I'd love to take my kids' BB guns and shoot their tires out when they're doing this?

Their mom doesn't care.  When we first moved into town this past fall (short-term thing while we're building in the country), I felt sorry for them.  They put on a good act.  After a few weeks of them coming to our house and pretending to want to play with the boys, we soon realized they were freeloaders -- wanted to eat everything in my fridge (without even asking first) and then wanted to play our computers or video games (without my kids).  I put the klinks on that real fast.  After that, they started treating my kids like crap.  I told my boys as long as they didn't do anything physical to just ignore them because they didn't care if they got in trouble and neither did their parents.  Their mom even had the balls to come looking for them 1 night after they didn't go home.  It was 9 o'clock at night and it got dark then around 7.  I couldn't believe it.

Just a few weeks ago, the 2 perps beat another kid with a baseball bat at the ballfield.  The cops were at their house quite a bit, but I see they're back out on their bikes again wreaking havoc.  I can't wait till we move back out to the country!

and those horses are out there now, 10:54 a.m.
love it!!!!  Love seeing the animals out there!!  And what a beautiful sky this lovely morning!!!  Lots of pink in the sky there.  *S*
I think Hayseed's piglet and her horses....

are her CHILDREN.....and so she takes care of them like one takes care of their children....SHOOT - YA GOTTA GIVE HAYSEED TREMENDOUS KUDOS for all she does on her farm/land.  I get to see the animals on her webcam and they are out there everyday several times a day.  It takes me away (CALGON - TAKE ME AWAY) and I begin to feel like I'm in Maine (New England where my paternal family is from), which takes me away from summer and more summer in Florida where I currently live.

KUDOS TO HAYSEED!!!!

that i used to ride race horses,
that i've been a crime victim more than once, that i'm a descendant of Eric the Red and Leif Erickson...gosh, lots more!!
A beautiful picture and a beautiful message. s/m
Here's wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!  We truly do have a lot to be thankful for.
rode race horses in the morning.
and MT'd at night -- the best of both worlds, with both my mind and body fit :)

i guess my worst job was working in a movie theater -- it required no skill whatsoever.
Does he show the horses or trail ride?
We have horses.  There's ALWAYS something you need or want.  How about a gift certificate to his favorite tack store?  Or something special he wouldn't buy himself for riding?  There's a lot of catalogs that cater to horse owners that have some really cool gifts.  LOL, one of the gifts my 12 yo neice has on her Christmas list is a gift certificate to Tractor Supply, yeah I know, you might be a redneck if . . . .
Good luck but horses don't change colors

I so get not wanting *to leave with regrets* - so do your thing and don't waste the same amount of time you might have prior!!

Larege amount of horses at packing plants/feed lots
coincidentally happen to be TBs.  They are a huge throw-away market.  Once they are done racing, unless they are one of the incredibly lucky few to be adopted out to knowledgable homes for other careers or are of breeding quality, they usually don't wind up in too good of a place afterwards.   I'm a nobody, and I've had 3 of these throw-aways land in my lap.  Yes, there are some responsible owners/breeders who ensure these animals are taken care of for the rest of their days, racing career or not, then there are an awful lot of others who see them as the cash crops they are and nothing more.
What a nice response by a nice mom
What a gracious, well-adjusted response to a rude, obviously maladjusted poster--Hard to imagine someone with such an empty life and such a petty spirit that they would take the time to post criticism about a kid's feet! (Some people really have major issues, LOL!)
Beautiful
What a beautiful dog. Good luck with her. As a side note, I was very sorry to hear about your dog's passing.
He is beautiful...
there are so many, many poor ones at shelters and other places waiting for a home.  some who may be put down if they do not have someone to rescue them from a sad, sad fate.  have you considered one of these * outcasts * who are just waiting for some loving person to come their way...stop at their cage....and say * that's the one i want ! *
It is beautiful.......our vet sent this to us

That is beautiful...
That is a wonderful way to honor your sister. So sorry for your loss.
She is just beautiful!

Her eyes are killer...they look like amber gemstones.  You can say what you want, but I'll bet my lunch SHE is the queen of the roost and you are the one at her beck and call!  ;-)  That's how they operate...tricky little things they are!

He is a beautiful pup.

He's beautiful!
And he'll be beautiful even with a bob tail with that long coat. My sister had a Manx with a long coat like that, born with just a bump for a tail, and she looked just like a bunny.

So this is you? You are so beautiful SM
Don't be hard on yourself.  So what if you are not 20 years old?  There is true beauty that comes from age.  Thanks for posting - I enjoyed seeing it!
WOW... that is BEAUTIFUL!!! Did she

Beautiful dog!
Is that a huskie?  Be sure and come back with more pics when you bring Bear home!  Love the puppy pictures!
he is beautiful!

He must be happy to have found a home!  Have fun!!

I think she is quite beautiful
but she would be even more so with some curves. I just don't get that emaciated look, it looks hard to me. I think Scarlet Johansson is quite a vision.
Very beautiful
I love their eyes.
BEAUTIFUL!

What a beautiful boy, I am so
sorry for your loss.
Beautiful dog. How big is she?

Beautiful here too, but....
I'm in Upstate NY too and I just checked the weather for next week. They're calling for possible snow on Tuesday and the temperature is dropping too, not more than 45 starting Saturday. Kids are on spring break next week and I'm off for the week too and bad weather, figures.
how beautiful!
where are you located?
Aww! She is beautiful!

BEAUTIFUL!
They are so cute! Your black and white one looks like a pitbull. Here is my black and white baby: http://www.dogster.com/dogs/300128

You are so very lucky!

You are lucky! sm
I think you are so lucky to get these "signs" that your loved ones are still around you. I wish I could have similar experiences. I love Lisa Williams' show. Sylvia Browne can be a bit harsh but she's a real character. I live in Upstate NY and wish I could still get John Edwards' show.
How lucky!
That would be nice!! It would be nice just be able to take time off when you are behind on everything like housework, etc. Oh well, high ho high ho it is back to work I go
Yes, you were very lucky. sm
I tried match.com, put in a 30 mile radius ( small area here).  I found I had already met all of these losers, about 10 of them, in one context another in real life, and would never have considered having even a cup of coffee with any of them.  Lucky you!
LUCKY YOU!!! sm
Mine only cooks on the weekends about once or twice a year. We wound up having turkey breast but I wanted grilled salmon so I ate that instead. Yum.
Lucky you!!!!!!! nm

Lucky for me...
I'm not a Harry Potter person, but those who reside here are...

My daughter is 20, son is 26, and son's GF is 22. One is asleep after reading all night and the other two are quietly reading... the house is so QUIET!!

So... Lucky for me, they are reading and that I don't feel jealous because I have to work!!

They preordered and got the books last night. Unfortunately, my son accidently ran into a spoiler on the internet w/o even trying... so he's a little bummed.

Well... happy reading when you get off!!!
Wow, lucky you!
Was he a real ladies man and as good looking as he is now?
You will be lucky if
the kids don’t come back and wreck the meeting place where you were. I agree with you about the parenting. It should start really, really early. Hubs and I out last night for dinner and couple next to us with child, about 3 I would say that was all over the place but mostly a danger to himself as he was climbing up on the chair up on the booster seat. There were 4 adults at the table but not one called this child down. I am glad my children grown. Call me overbearing or whatever, my kids were never out of control like what I see now. Oh, I did not spare the rod either.
How lucky you are to be there! Have a

He's been a lucky cat (sm)
Look at all the years of love you have given him...that is so sweet. Most animals never get a forever home where they can stay and live for 15 years. It's sad but it's sweet too. You have given him a good life :-)
Lucky you!
Believe it or not, I sure wish I was there! I have lived in central Florida since 1994 and have not lived in snow since. So sad. I was so glad to throw the old ice scraper and mittens away, but I really miss it. I miss snow days (not horrifying like Hurricane days are here), I miss cozy in the house while the flakes drop outside and how pretty it is. I know you in snowy areas might think I am nuts, but it is still 80s here and the only snap in the air is something for about 10 seconds between 6 and 6:15 a.m. No sledding here, only A/C in the house. Oh yeah, there was snow at my downtown, fake snow made by the town council for a holiday fair. There was roasting chestnuts, hot chocolate and hot cider. Too bad my little boy wore flip flops, he could not go in the snow and it was too hot out to drink the cider. Oh well, at least it looked like Christmas LOL.
Yep, consider yourself one of the lucky ones!

I remember my one brother at that age...wouldn't be caught dead near his mom, especially not in the kitchen!  My other two brothers though, they were/are good eggs like your son.  You must be doin' something right!

He's definitely one of the lucky ones
I would be very happy if my husband received anything. Granted he gets a monthly bonus depending on profits at the shop (he works at a car dealership - sometime good, sometimes not), but it would be nice if he got an actual Christmas bonus any amount.
I wonder if maybe they have been lucky enough
not to have experienced as much death as some families.

I know when we lost my aunt, she was only 63, but still it was the first death in our family in many years. There wasn't a lot of loud grieving, but most of us were walking around in a state of numb shock.
Very sorry! She was very lucky to have you. nm
!
You are very lucky.
I read the book and saw the movie and loved them both. It's one of my favorite movies.
