Isn't it funny how when something happens to YOU it changes everything.

Bad credit messes up EVERYTHING. It can keep you from renting an apartment. It can keep you from getting a job. Here in Oregon they just tried to pass a law that auto insurance companies could do credit checks and use your credit in figuring your insurance rates. Thank God that got slapped down in a hurry. But for how long?

What is sad is you can be the most honest, hardworking person who just caught a tough break, but people out there will judge you harshly (as demonstrated on this board), look down their noses at you, and tell you that you must have deserved it.

Good luck to you, I hope you are able to find another place quickly.
