Yeah, very strange that it was George who failed.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Izzy failed, but George?

I had heard ahead of time that Burke was going to walk out on the wedding, but I heard it was because he didn't make chief, or because McDreamy made chief instead, and I didn't see how the 2 were related. I know the show is about drama, not realism, but Burke was smart enough to know Christina wasn't as into marriage as he was, so no loss for me except all that expense and loss of eyebrows and all.

yeah, what strange bird story?
I couldn't find it either.
I've always tried and failed...(sm)

Yeah, I tried to attach pictures and I could never get it to work...someone has always bailed me out who knew how to do it.

You need an internet link to the picture--can't just directly upload from your own directory.  THEORETICALLY all you need to do is click on the little picture icon (if you hover over it with your mouse cursor it will say "insert picture") and simply insert the http address.  "

Right now I just did it with my favoritest "photoshopped" picture of a baby skunk in my barn but it will probably show a red X because I can never seem to get it to work right.  (No preview button to verify if it worked before posting--always a bummer).

When all else fails, you can always ask admin.

Well, guess I have failed
her - really sick about this- she wanted to go out to dinner tomorrow night- got note back from her saying cant tell grown people what they should do and she has a right to how she believes, that dogs sleep out all the time but that the dog had been in the house the last 3-4 nights - she did not say that when I talked with her last night- it was like he should just deal with it. She says does not want to lose her roommate over something this small. Told her did not want to go to dinner- says can she not have her opinion and we are all unique people in this world. To say I am ticked is an understatement right now. She said she is sorry she is not perfect like me. I have really raised a good one. She tells me I cant save all animals, people, etc. not trying to but this makes me sick to my stomach.
You failed to read my reply
WE all had a hand in ME getting pregnant....What's all the attitude for?
I know all about that bill they tried to pass and failed so far,
I am against it being mandatory, and yes, I am part of the breed/show world, and did mixed breed rescue, volunteered in a few shows for a long time and it is heart breaking. But, in all the years I volunteered in them, the pedigree cat was rare, I only saw a persian once and a siamese once. I am not out West though. Mandatory spay and neuter will only create a black market. In CA there is already a problem with smuggling puppies in from Mexico, imagine how much worse that will get. And yes, breeders can get a license, but not everyone will get one and unfortunately, it will knock out the good ones, the bad ones always find a way around things. The better answer would be low cost spay and neuter programs so that it is more affordable. I don't know costs in CA, but here in PA they are getting very high. My vet loves me, I spend a fortune there and if somebody gets sick on the weekend, I don't think twice about going to the emergency vet and paying extra costs. I do recall, however, in the pounds I volunteered in that there more pedigree dogs, particularly large ones. In these cases, it seemed people did not do their homework and did not realize the puppy would get so big.

As for pet stores, I would never buy a pet in one of those, nor would I ever let one of my kittens go to them. In fact, my breeding is very small scale, I am most definitely not making money on it, and I am very picky about who let have one of my furry kids, and I do have high quality within my chosen breed, good health and show.

Good luck in CA, but I don't think that bill will ever get passed. It is really not cost effective to the state and like you said, how could they enforce it? People find a way, sad, but true.
Tried, failed in math so could not figure, only do spelling!

Darn! I dont know why that link failed....
Try this one. If that fails, look for 'Roomba Cat' on YouTube. Hysterical!

Upset with my child's school -- failed eye exam

First, the facts.  My child has retinitis pigmentosa.  His vision is 20/200 without glasses and his best corrected vision is 20/70.  I have taken him to the specialists at the University of Michigan and the prognosis is not promising.  He is only 8 years old and I don't feel he needs to know the true extent of what his future might hold.  He inherited this through me, as my parents were both blind, and this is a congenital defect.

He came home from school yesterday and informed me they were all tested by the Health Department with an eye exam, which, of course, he failed miserably.  He informed the technician that he could not see the chart, so she told him "just guess."  Then he was asked if his glasses were old, that he might need new ones, and he informed me that she would be sending me a letter stating he needs an official eye exam and new glasses.

So, before I blew my top, I went to the school office this morning.  I asked to see my child's emergency contact sheet, which includes a section regarding existing medical conditions.  There it was, plain as day, stating all of his ophthamologic conditions.  I feel this information should have been checked by their staff before they administered and unnecessary test on my child.  I informed the principal that I did not want him subjected to any more visual testing (which they plan to repeat in two years).  They didn't seem to understand why I would not want this free testing.  I asked them if they would perform a hearing test on a child with a hearing aid -- then they finally got my point.  I think permission slips before testing might be appropriate.

Lake George
There's also Waterslide World nearby - good fun for your kiddies if the weather's hot!
lake george
Yes, we're leaving Monday for three days.  No plans to swim at the lake though - just in the heated hotel pool...LOL.  We actually going to be in Queensbury, so the main goal of the trip is "kid-style" fun activities.  Our "beach" vacation is later this summer in Maine...To be honest, I don't care if it rains all three days while we're in Lake Goerge...I will be happy to get away and my 5yo son will be happy just to have a "little fridge" in the hotel room.
Lake George
Every summer as a little girl we use to camp at Lake George.  I loved it!
Yep, George W. is a real
xx
ER MT have you been to Lake George?
We were just there this past July. I love that area. So beautiful. Would love to see it in the fall. Only a 3-1/2 to 4 hour ride from northern NJ for me.
George Clooney, yum yum!
xx
Anything by Boy George or Madonna, but
I also agree with some of the other suggestions, like Ring My Bell, Feelings (gag).
Near Lake George
and the snow, she's a comin' down !
My neighbor, George...
who is taking great care of his wife, who has Alzheimer's, and still finds time to plow the snow off his neighbors' driveway with his tractor.
You mean my husband, George?

lmao.  We've been married for years.  He just doesn't know it yet.

He was even here in my city not too long ago filming a movie and I missed him!!!!  I was so po'd when I found out.  Missed him by that much! (said in my best Maxwell Smart voice.)  If I'd known I would have gone down and tried to watch the filming.

I heart George.

Failed to mention replace high calorie foods with low calorie....
Stay away from pizza, cinnmon rolls and biscuits.  Traded regular snack food for fruit and veggies, apples, carrot sticks.  The first two weeks are the hardest.
George Forman grills
I'm thinking of buying one of these electric grills - has anyone used one?  I know they are supposed to be healthy because they drain the fat but do they drain so much fat that the food is tasteless?
Saw George with Ravi Shankar . . .
My sister saw the Beatles in Chicago. Sure brings back memories
lake george NY ideas?

We are going to Lake George for three nights, leaving on Monday and returning Thursday.  We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites right next to the park.  Has anyone ever stayed there?  I think it used to be called the Wakita and they redid it in 2006.  Any input as to activities, we are 2 adults - mom and dad - and daugther, 8yo, and son 5yo.  So far, we are using our season passes for the Six Flags Great Escape, maybe ride the boat Minne Ha Ha on the lake, mini golf...  I think there is a drive-in nearby so we might check that out one night if it's nearby.  Any personal favorites out there?  Has anyone ever been to the Fort William Henry museum?

Oh - and "family-friendly" restaurant recommendations!

Thanks!

Hot at Lake George, even hot in the Catskills.

George Clooney's doorstep. : )

He look - he has George Clooney's hair.
Cute dog.
I dream he and George are chasing me. Being them,

But ... but ... Didn't ya like and miss George?
Didn't ya like Carter.  In the last episode Greene's daughter was on applying as she was a med student and that was neat.  But, but, now it's done and gone.  Still sniffing.
I think the whole idea of the George Foreman grill

therefore the juices are supposed to come out to make it less fatty.  Searing in the pan keeps the juice in but also the fat.  I liked the taste from the George Foreman grill, but I didn't like the clean-up :(

I would prefer just to bake in the oven actually.  Also in regards to marinading meat.  30 minutes is plenty of time.  If you keep it in the marinade longer it tends to make the meat rubbery.  Just a thought...

No, George, the old crazy guy.. I miss that show.
xx
George a sammie and get a great panini.
x
Definitely George mystery novels or romance
!
Show went downhill after the George Clooney days..sm
It is too much like a soap opera now.  I remember the days when it was all about actual medicine and patients and doctors.  Now it's just love triangles and boring characters.  I think it needs to end as well.  I watch just for Archie cuz he cracks me up!
I've had a George-Clooney sound-alike
at most of my jobs, but so far haven't heard him yet at this job.

Too bad ...
Not real original but the first one that comes to mind is George Clooney. nm
!
chocolate. George Lopez or Bill Cosby?
x
Bewitched. George Clooney or Brad Pitt?

funny read for George Carlin fans..sm

Ya gotta get to your nearest library and ask for this book. I'm laughing my butt off! Just the title alone is sure to offend at least 3 major organized religions and vegetarians.

When Will Jesus Bring The Pork Chops?

by George Carlin

Hyperion, 2004

295 pages, hardcover

40 employees in a NJ hospital suspended for leaking George Clooney's sm

medical records after his accident a few weeks ago and this even includes some doctors! But, here is George's response:  This is the first I've heard of it. And while I very much believe in a patients right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers." -- George Clooney

I love him even MORE now! LOL

Disco baby...Brad Pitt or George Clooney
a
That is so strange
Those are the exact dreams that I have as well. The locker combination, never getting to class, can't remember where my class is and I had the teeth falling out one about 2 weeks ago!!!

Strange how so many minds can work the same subconsciously.

I always figured it was because I have "issues" from high school, lol.

So nice to know I'm not the only one who dreams those things constantly!
strange. . .
a peep show. . I think you're over reacting a little. . . Give this poor mom a break. . yes, everyone has problems - I sure do - but this lady does not need this sort of bashing right now. . how is that helpful to her??
This is strange
because my DH and I have talked about this often. I do think consumers get the short end of the stick because the government does not release drugs as quickly as they should. They also will not recognize a treatment because if doesn't have FDA approval. I do think the FDA does keep us safe at times but I also think they are too slow in approving many drugs that have been safely used in other countries for years.

My DH and I also have talked about how if they came up with cures for many of the diseases what would they have fund-raisers (think about the millions MDA has brought in) for and wouldn't it put many of the researchers out of business? Because drugs and cures are big business.
Strange...
I took my daughter to the doc today with these exact symptoms. Neg flu and neg strep. She is really sick but with what? She has amoxicillin and Dytan.
Really? It seems strange
that you never discussed it. If my man would not admit it, I would pester him to death becuase I couldn't stand it.

And I am very shocked that he just accepted you making him change his lifestyle so (not making any moves alone) without a word. ??
Not strange here
My daughter has her 9th grade dance and if they're from another school they have to sign a form or they won't get in. The same if they're not in the 9th grade but are in the same school district.
Very strange
I was just going to get on and ask the same question.  For about the past month, my legs, mostly from the knees down, have felt tight and achy.  They are swollen and red, blanching when I poke them with my finger.  I too will sit with them up for a while and they feel better, only to go back to where they were when I sit again for any extended period of time.  I have been trying to drink a lot of water, stay away from salt, etc.  I don't know what is going on.  If the support stockings help, I will also wear them.
How strange!
You said in your experience "the longer a girl waits, the more socially awkward she feels, and the more promiscuous she becomes once she finally joins the party." You also wrote that "being the only virgin left in the school would also cause psychological damage."

I don't understand that at all. So caving to peer pressure should be the deciding factor in when a person loses his/her virginity?

Not for me. I was a virgin until my wedding night, at age 23. I've been married 25 years. My husband was also a virgin. I wasn't socially awkward, and I certainly didn't become more promiscuous when I finally "joined the party". I was, however, college educated, living in a large eastern city, enjoying all life had to offer which included a lively social life.

I'm not very fond of the idea of purity pledges and big group celebrations where fathers present their daughters with promise rings, etc. I don't think a public declaration is needed. I was simply raised to respect myself and to be responsible. My father and I were very close, yet we never once had a conversation about "saving" myself. But throughout my life with him (he died when I was 21), he made sure that I knew how loved I was. I knew that he felt I was special. He was always a gentleman and treated my mother and me, and all women, with great respect. From his wonderful example, I learned how a woman should be treated, and I settled for nothing less. I'm sure this upbringing is a major reason why I enjoy a strong and loving marriage with my husband.

Compared to the purity pledge idea, I think my father's method is a much more effective way to raise up a woman with a healthy attitude about herself and her sexuality. I know it's not the experience that most women have, but I certainly wish it were.
get your son out of there. What a strange
attitude and behavior of your in-laws. Continuing like this they will never get closure. This will render everybody depressed. Is this sort of a cult?
Strange, isn't it.............sm
how we assign super mortal status to celebrities?

Farrah was just a girl from Corpus Christi, Texas, and MJ was just a boy from Indiana, yet their lives and deaths and the manner of same has become fodder for the media. Before anyone says "sour grapes" let me say that I am happy for them that they achieved superstar status with all its attendent perks. I just don't quite understand what makes their deaths any more interesting than the average person.

May they both rest in peace.
I can say she looks strange, she does but
then what about him? He was such a good looking guy at one time. Know he had the money to get all the plastic surgery done but why would any reputable physician do the surgery?
Strange Situation....

OK, I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this, but I'd love your opinions and advice.

We're good friends w/our next door neighbors -we go to each other's kids parties, have lot's of cookouts, and do lot's of things together. The last thing was our Christmas Open House. They were here, all was 'normal' and we all had a good time.

For the past three years we've celebrated New Year's Eve together. I mentioned it at our party a couple weeks ago and she kind of himmed and hawed b/c they may be out of town, but then, no, they would be in town. She'd let me know.

Then, later that week, a friend of hers who is an acquaintance of mine called me about this makeup she sells. In casual conversation she mentions an open house our neighbors are having and says she'll see me there. Uh, what open house? We were not invited, no mention of it, no come by after your family leaves, nothing. The acquaintance kind of back-peddles, but there's no going back. Their open house was yesterday, and from the looks of their driveway there were 30 or more people there.

Their kids came over today to play with our kids and the little was saying how we should have come over, didn't we see all the cars? I wanted to, but didn't say we were'nt invited.

Now, should I swallow my pride and just call over to see about New Year's Eve, or just let it go?
