My MIL hates men
Don't know why. She beat up her first husband on several occasions (she was drunk a lot), and she also picked up her 2nd husband and threw him through a wall, down some stairs and beat him up a couple times (she is a stocky woman). All while claiming the victim role. She really hates men (unless they were her high school sweethearts) then she is always showing us her pictures with her old boyfriends while pointing out how beautiful she was. She was a pretty girl then but now she looks 20 years older than she really is. It's those times that I am always tempted to say "beauty is on the inside", but know what she did to her two husbands I stay clear and keep my mouth shut. Sometimes I used to feel bad for her until I was alone one time while my DH went out to the store and she decided to tell me how much she does not like me and that I should leave my husband and go back home to "where I belong". Anyway...nobody can understand why she hates men so much, but her hatred for her first husband goes further - into her kids. She blames her kids for her not being successful. If she didn't have all those kids (7 of them), she would have "really gone places because I was smart and beautiful". I try and not be around when those kind of conversations come up.
A DIL who hates my guts - enough said!
....
I know. Here I am all excited, and what if Sasha hates her!
If Sasha says no, we'd be nuts to get her because Sasha needs somebody to play with.
Normal or not? Son saying he hates h is sister (sm)

He is 10, she is 3 years younger.  She is usually nice to him and loves him.  I could understand if he blurted out "I hate you" when they were arguing, but tonight I told him that she won't be home tomorrow afternoon and he and I could go see a movie or something together and he said "she won't be here - good - I hate her." And he said it so mean.  I told him he is not allowed to talk about her like that, that she wouldn't talk that way about him and if she did, she would be in trouble.  He said, "I don't know why, she's just so annoying and I hate her." I asked him what he thought "hate" meant and he said that it was wishing someone would just "poof, disappear."  She tends to be more outgonig than him. She learned to waterski this weekend, while he refused to even try.  So I don't know if he is just jealous or what, but it scares me that something so mean can come out of my own child's mouth.

Might I add that FOX news, who hates Moore..nm

When Sicko came out in Cannes France over a month ago, it was FOX NEWS (who really dislike Moore since Fahrenheit 911 movie) who FIRST commended Moore's SICKO film........FOX NEWS!!!!!!

No, but I swear my sister hates me sm
since I refused to loan her $3000.00 two years ago to get her and her family out of a "temporary" bind. She hasn't spoken to me or emailed me since.  I call her and she doesn't call back. I email her and no reply. We spoke all the time before that. Guess she didn't like the fact that my son's college tuition bill was more important.  For some odd reason, she thinks we are loaded since we haven't filed bankruptcy yet and all my other siblings did.
I would not force him to stay if he hates it - sm
that much. That said, I am a GS co-leader of a Brownie and Junior Troop. Both my daughters are in GS, 1 loves it, the other wants out. Since I would have to take her to the meetings anyway, I am making her stay in. The only part she does not like is the meetings, which is twice a month for us. She loves the activities we do which are not too much 4 booth sales a year (cookies and nuts), a campout a year in cabins at a GS camp, and usually 1 or 2 other fun activities with other troops, skating, baseball game, that sort of stuff. Despite my 1 daughter's protests I know she will still have a good time, especially this year as our Brownie troop went from 14 to 8, and our Junior troop from 14 to 4. I don't know how much longer mine will want to do it but I will stop when they really don't want to or don't have the time anymore due to other activities. We don't plan on having a Cadette troop (the next step after Junior)as our leader doesn't want that responsibility, so we have I think 2 more years at least. Once my oldest is "done" with it I will pull them both out, or is she wants to continue I will just find another troop for her that has a Cadette group. ---These boy scout leaders need a bit more compassion, and need to allow the boys to call home once a day if they want to. No you don't want some kid calling home every five minutes. We had a girl like that in our troop, a real pain in the butt. She was a bully, constanting hurting others or bullying them, and all the other girls could not stand her, but we had to deal with her and teach the girls to nice to her, etc. in hopes that this girl would get better. Never happened. I am happy to know she is not coming back next year. She made every event a drama about her, calling mom constantly on campouts, changing her mind about leaving every 5 minutes about having her mom pick her up early, crying, fussing, generally just being a pain if she did not get her way. (She has emotional problems at 11, on drugs for depression, anger mgmt--parents were finally forced to get her help after she tried to choke someone 2 x at school--private school, and they pay handsomely to keep her there by donating stuff all the time to the school, the girl will never get kicked out though she should have been expelled years ago for her violence)--- but that is me off on another tangent. ---But the men leaders have that caveman thinking, that the boys have to tough it out to become men, and all that garbage. They definitely need to clean out their campsite, rake it out, build a nice fire during the day....we never have unattended fires at night....even when I tent camped for my training. In theory the BS leaders should have their training, both BS and GS require training, though BS has a lot more stuff going on the GS, but the GS has lots more red tape and paperwork we have to submit before doing anything---took me an hour to fill out all my forms this year, for the 2 girls and myself as a leader. ---but I do believe scouting is good for kids, but if they really, really hate it, don't make them, it just makes everyone miserable there.
My DH also works for post office, but hates Netflix (sm)
His job is to keep all those post office machines running, and he says those Netflix envelopes jam them up!
It seems it would probably be less expensive SM
to just buy fabric and cut it out yourself. There are some great fabric stores with home dec fabrics. Anyway, should be easy, since just straight sewing.
Can anyone tell me just how expensive it is
to get a hearing aid, including the evaluation and the price of the device?  My husband is driving me crazy.  He can't seem to hear very well anymore and he is such a grump.  We have insurance but I was wondering what to expect.  I really have no idea if it is $250 or $2000.  Thanks if you can help me.
Why do that have to be expensive?? (nm)

Uniforms are NOT more expensive.
My kids have been in public school and in Catholic school. Buying uniforms is waaaay cheaper than buying back-to-school clothes. My boys are required to wear khaki pants and a polo shirt, and non-scuff type brown shoes. (I choose to buy Skechers.) Each started with two pairs of pants and three shirts, and I spent less than $300 the first year. The clothing lasted all years, and I found that one pair of Skechers per boy was a good investment. One pair made it through an entire school year. (Previously I bought cheap Pay Less shoes every couple of months.) As time goes on, the older son handed down uniforms to the younger brother. I replaced uniform shirts or pants as needed, and there was no big rush to go school shopping in the beginning of the year. Our school also offers uniform exchanges to keep costs down, and will provide uniforms for free through the Home and School Association to families with financial need.

As far as expressing their individuality through their clothing, they still have street clothes for life outside of school, and they can express their individuality then. Or, they can be individuals simply by being themselves, because that's how it's done. I think the "expressing individuality" issues is over-rated. What we need more of these days is people thinking about the team, about each other, and how their actions impact the entire community. We need less of it's-all-about-me attitude, in my opinion. If uniforms help in that regard, I'm very much for them!
Often several people will go in together to get a more expensive
jk,
Mine are not the expensive ones
like you probably had but at the same time offered 1 and then told I could sell myself for twice so just decided to keep and wear myself. The funny thing is to just look at those you would think just junky cheap plastic. I found at the antique place some old Jewell Tea dishes and such, my stepmom had plenty and they were selling for prices unbelievable to me being as I knew cheap years ago. I did find out that probably would have sold necklaces and bracelets for less than the dealer told me to sell for.
I thought they were expensive too

San Diego got way too expensive

Rent was about a grand a month eight years ago when I was 36 and had my precious baby  I left there when he was eight months old.  I stayed with my two of my best friends (gay couple) in Atlanta for over a year in their mansion-like home.  I then came back here to MI, where it surely is cheap to live and he and I could be near my family.  I bought a house last year for $13,000 (that's not a typo) and the cost of living is very reasonable here.

No, 27 is certainly not old and you're not having a mid-life crisis -- just wild oats.  I used to call it "world of hate" when I would be ready to leave a city:  Sick of traffic, sick of the people at the grocery store, sick of my neighbors.  Then, I would plot out a journey and move on.  Now, though, with my sweet child of school age, we can only wander off and travel in the summer months.  So, do it while you can, girl!!

I know they are expensive. A pedicure alone
I wanted to get my grandma one but i just can't afford that!!!
Why are funerals so expensive?

After finding funeral home service for my grand mother. I think that funeral home is so expensive.

You agree with me?

Thanks! Bras are EXPENSIVE!! nm

Haha...exactly. :O) NM

haha

I laughed so hard when i seen you say "googly eyes" lol.

I always find it hard to watch people that think they're so darn sexy and it's like you have got to be kidding me!

I think the girl that was a backup singer is really good but without being mean it's hard to watch her too because she has no neck!

haha!
k
No, I wish! haha...
Just a lady who comes and cleans once every 2 weeks.
haha -
Does he not give you access to the $?
I would just go and get new tires. That is very dangerous. If you have to set up your own checking account and get your money dd in there or buy your own PO Box.
Apart from the tire issue you need access to $ if you don't have it now.

HAHA
i liked that so much i posted it on my personal blog
HAHA!!! you got that right...

haha!!
Im not embarrassed to answer in my PJ's... but I DO feel like I have to take my bathrobe off (which is what i cozy up in over my PJs in the winter time)...
:)

Haha! I like that, maybe you should tell him!..nm
nm
yep, he's a boy, haha....
and he's starting to hike up that hind leg when he goes, BUT, in the apartment, he only goes when I don't take him out for hours, which was the case, for example, last 2 weeks I had the flu and sciatica pains hit at the same time, I was MISERABLE and could hardly bend over to get the leash on the poor little guy, and getting up...gah...and I was so wore out I would literally lose track of time, so I admit the few accidents he has had lately have been because I haven't taken him out.

I dont use piddle pads anymore. He made it easy for me to get rid of them, he started chewing up unused ones to play with for some reason, so I stopped using them. I only have 1 room in the whole apartment now that has anything to piddle on, newspaper, and that is in the utility room, which is the room he stays in if we are gone a lot during the day so he won't make a mess. He will scratch on the door to the utility room. The other times he goes is just accidents, unless there's a blanket on the floor, he will piddle on a blanket on the floor, or piles of laundry on the floor (like in my son's room), but otherwise he hasn't messed on anything. I do plan to get him neutered, but had to wait for the financing thanks to my crappy old job (which, btw, is why I had the name "goincrazyquick" haha, related to my last job). I've since found a new one and after 3 months of in-house training I'm back at home, so now I can get the puppy back on a schedule, myself on a schedule, and get the puppy scheduled for getting him neutered. :)

My cousin has 3 of her 4 dogs pomeranians, and one is a pom mix she got from a friend who found him. she has no problems in her home with 2 males and 2 females, but she said if he's not truly marking territory indoors, which he isn't because the accidents have only been here in the last 2 weeks where I was sick, or only if there is a blanket on the floor, otherwise no other accidents indoors for months, then he should be ok as far as not marking territory indoors. If the person who I got him from is correct on his age, then he turned 1 year beg. of January. Finally have the money to get him fixed, now just have to remember to get that appointment set! I started working midnights, haha, so my time is all out of whack.

I hope the OP is able to get her pup potty-trained too! :)
Very very expensive and demanding blessings, yes.

Children are an expensive responsibility.
It's not fair to bring people into this world who will clearly be at a disadvantage from the get-go. They have no choice in the matter, you do.
very expensive but value added to home...sm
Lumber Liquidators for the bamboo and we needed 1400 s.f. and then to pay 2 men to install that and the cork backing...it was V_E_R_Y expensive but added about $25-$30G value to the home I do believe (was done a few years ago); besides the fact it is absolutely gorgeous and not difficult to take care of...but it's shoes off!
I heard Requip is very expensive, do you know how much?
I have it day and night, sometimes in involves more than my legs, and it drives me crazy.
Eladil, though expensive, works for me.

How do you figure leasing is less expensive?
I've tried doing the math on that several times when we were going in to buy a car, but I never see it as being a saving. If I plan to keep a car for as long as it's useful and relatively trouble-free, leasing makes no sense. If I pay off a car in 3 years, or even 5 years, I could drive it for another 10 years and not have any car payments. But if I continuously lease new cars, I'll always have a car payment. The years w/o payments are money straight in the bank for me. I could see it being cheaper if you plan to buy a new car every couple of years, but I plan to drive my cars until they sputter, cough and die.

Incidentally, I just looked at a camry hybrid today. time to replace a puffing 12 year old car with 189,000 miles on it. I like it. Not sure the gas savings will outweigh that sticker price, tho. wow!
I personally think they are expensive and you would be better off going through Ebay...
NM
Stop with the expensive gifts.
Do gift cards and such, but don't knock yourself out.
A feline is not that expensive and what I have heard is
the rodents, etc. leave even when they catch a smell of them. Have not seen 1 here but at my other house my older feline caught and killed 2, 1 big and 1 smaller. She was very proud of herself.
I hated to pay for expensive bras as well
but it really is worth it I promise you. I have a black and a nude bra from VS. I went in for an actucal fitting and these bras have been wonderful. I don't think I will ever wear anything else. I know that you don't have to go to VS to get a good bra, but I had a gift certificate, and while I don't think that is what DH was expecting my to buy, it was totally worth it. Right now I am in the second year of both bras, just wash in the sink and hang dry which definitely helps keep them in shape. I am 38D so I really need plenty of support. It is almost time for new bras, but since you can tighten the straps as well as around as you go, they have made all the difference in the world. Like I said, you can get good quality bras at major department stores without spending what you would spend at VS, but just check into it. I promise you it will be worth it.
what price range...I see they are very expensive
I need a great shampooer.
West coast is all expensive...
So you settled back at home, 13K! WOW I would never settle back in Cali... like you said it's way too expensive and the wages (at least what i make) definitely don't keep up with the cost of living. I have found in the South the living is sooooo much more affordable, but then I have to think of the pros and cons like the weather (never been in a hurricane, they kinda scare me)... but the people are absolutely wonderful! at least everyone I have encountered was so nice and polite, again nothing like the west coast. I just visited Atlanta when I was in NC two weeks ago and fell in LOVE with it. However, it's a bit big for me but I am curious to know more about it... just as an option. Do you mind if I email you directly? Thanks again for your insight!
Those places tend to be more expensive sm
Glad you found something that works for you, but that is not the case with everyone. QVC, Catherine's, etc, tend to be more expensive, which is okay for a special occasion outfit once in a great while, but I cannot afford to spend that kind of money on my everyday clothing. Also, if I can't try it on, I usually don't buy it. I have bought clothing from catalogs and feel for me that it is not worth the hassle. Things look one way on TV or in a picture that do not translate well on me. Even in a store, I have picked something up that I thought was really nice and hated it once I tried it on, as I am sure many women have. I am not defending wearing too-small clothes. I am only trying to come up with a reason for someone doing so. You wouldn't catch me dead out of the house in something too small.
Cant understand that. Cosmetics are EXPENSIVE!
I just can see paying like $9.50 for a lipstick, when that will buy a gallon of milk, some pasta, some veggies, & maybe a couple pieces of chicken.

(Surely there can't be THAT many Tammy Faye Bakers in this country!)
Yeah but Macy's is EXPENSIVE. NM
.
I disagree, more expensive does not always equal better
quality. Especially when it comes to cosmetics.
Instead of buying expensive creams containing cucumber extract, just put a cucumber on your face! Works equally
and even better!
I would definitely stop this expensive gifts, but
I think that your son/daughter is either spoiled or maybe really depressed.
I would try to get closer to him/her and 'shake' him/her up to get out of this lethargy.
You did not explain much how your relationship with your son/daughter is in general?
If he/she is maried, children, etc....
OMG! LMBO!! haha
nm
haha.. nope. they don't but they may
during teenage years! LOL. TOO FUNNY!
or maybe I'll just second it (haha) (nm)
