are in an in-between-stage, not anymore fully awake, but not totally asleep yet, so you do not know if it is really happening or not.

If you are outside of the REM sleep stage (fully asleep), then one remembers one's dreams, only in the REM-stage one doesn't.

So, if somebody says that he/she never remembers his dreams, then his dreams are all in the REM-stage. Because everybody has dreams, always, because the brain does not come to a stop when we sleep, it works 24/7.

Sometimes my husband is half asleep and all of a sudden he asks me. 'Did the doorbell ring?' 'No,' I say, 'I didn't hear anything!'

I think more people than we think experience this.

Once the same happened to me:

I had a dream that somebody was running after me and I could not move. Then I woke up and realized it was a dream. What a relief!

Also not being able to scream happens a lot in one'e sleep.

These are just nightmares.

Forget about it.

If were you, I would stop the Xanax, though, this might contribute to this.
Also sleeping pills!

My one very vivid memor was before I even started school
Grandpa and I would take a walk through his neighborhood every Saturday morning and eventually make it to Dunkin Donuts for chocolate covered sprinkled donuts and hot chocolate. On the way back, we'd stop off at his neighbors and say hi. One neighbor always had a bowl of "wedding mints" sitting on her coffee table.

Another favorite was getting to the be the Statue of Liberty in a parade while in Bluebirds! It's hard to stand still on a moving float!!
Try not to let your vivid imagination ruin your Atlanta experience.

dreams
I've had that same dream about being back in school and can't remember my locker combination, my class schedule, anything! I'm panicking because I'm late to class...like that ever made me panic when I really was in HS. That's weird, I often wondered if anyone else had dreams like that.

To the OP, I dream about my ex-boyfriend all the time. I don't know what it means, I don't think about him or anything. Just some nights will dream that he's there and it's the first time I've seen him since we broke up (well over 20 years ago), but by the time I get to where he's at, he's gone...wish I did know what it meant.
dreams
Now that is weird! I have the same recurring dream about my locker in high school. It was on the third floor and I did sometimes have trouble going up and down the stairs in 5 minutes to get my stuff. Strange.  I have been told that being lost in the airport (which I also dream) is performance anxiety.
I have most of these same dreams, but
even worse for the bathroom dreams. None of the toilets have been flushed and they are too filthy to sit on. For some reason the stall walls only come waist high, so everybody can see you. Oh, and I have a recurrent showering dream where the shower is outside or in the middle of a room, and there are people around, quite offended that I'm naked.
Dreams (sm)
The post below got me thinking about dreams, especially since I have also dreamed about the teeth and forgetting my locker combination from high school!

And so I just found the neatest website that I thought I would share.

"My Teeth Are Falling"

Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.

Locker

To see or use a locker in your dream, signifies aspects of yourself which you have kept hidden inside. Consider what items and belongings are in the locker. In particular, to dream of a school locker, denotes hidden feelings, knowledge, and attitudes that you need to learn and/or acknowledge.

To dream that you cannot open a locker or that your forgot the combination, suggests that you are unsure of where you stand in a particular situation. You feel that you are on shaky ground. If you cannot find your locker, then it also symbolizes your insecurities about your role or position in a situation.

DREAMS

Dreams are a mystery to most of us.  I do know that when you dream of riding in the back seat of a car, it means you feel you do not have control of your life.  I know I dream I am driving from the back seat and having trouble reaching the pedals.

When I was married, I never dreamed of my husband.  I have been divorced for over 20 years (and never wanted to marry again).  I dream of my ex now, and they are wonderful dreams of him being all I wanted him to be...everything he wasn't.  He loves me more than anything in the world, and me him.  He is a wonderful father.  I am so happy, and when I wake up, I am crying.  I would rather dream of him the way he really was so I can be mad and not sad of what could have been if only....

I do not know why I dream of him this way.  Guess I never will.  I know dreams are our subconscious.  Of what I have no ideal.

Does anyone understand dreams?...

What does it mean if you have had dreams reflecting past events in your life?

For example:  Dreaming of old high schools boyfriends, things you had done with your children when they were little, memories of family members who have passed, etc.

For the past few weeks, this is what my dreams have consisted of and I was wondering if it meant anything in particular or not.

I have those exact same dreams...
I was once told that the teeth falling out had something to do with money, don't know exactly what but I certainly have not had a windfall.
These must be common dreams
I have the same ones with my teeth falling out and I'm always dreaming of being in school either forgetting my combination or not been able to find my classroom.

Anyone believe dreams have meaning?

I normally brush off bad dreams but this one was strange. My 8 year old daughter dreamed that I had a big snake behind me, she told me to run but I didn't believe her.  The snake came up and started choking me and as I was choking I told her that I could taste apple.

Have you ever thought that your child had a dream with a message for you?  I have an idea of what it might be about but I am wondering if I am making too much of it.

I believe that dreams have meaning...
I have had several dreams like that..I had a dream my best friend was pregnant again before she found out she was, and I had a dream later in the pregnancy that it was a boy and it was...always have strange dreams like that...I don't dream like this every night though...
How cute! She is definitely living her dreams
in that picture, Ha!

No bad dreams from TZ, but Kathy Griffith...sm
was with Anderson... better chance of a nightmare there than from Twilight Zone!! I like her, but she is scary smoetimes :-)
Yes, I believe dreams have some type of meaning sm
especially when you remember them.

You know the snake is a sign of the evil one! Is there someone in your life who is acting evil? That one would scare me and I would probably pray a lot more, even though I am not the "religious type".
I find TV people in my dreams and am tired of it. OC

I am a happy girl today- Dreams can come true.
A group of ladies has gone into rescuing animals. I have done the financial backing with my joy being able to get animals out of animal control places where they otherwise would be put down. I told the ladies I work with if they want to charge for the animals, have at it but my payment is the little lives saved. We have gone into this the right way, lady got incorporated, got license from the state and even in my state have to have agricutural license. This past Saturday we had our first animal fair at a feed store that was having a flea market for the day. We were successful in rehoming 6 dogs and 2 kitties. I am thrilled beyond belief. That means the more we rehome, the more I can make the trips to the so called shelters and pick them up.
