Our elders also worked much, much harder than we do today, they didn't have every thing at their fingertips.  They were more active than we are, they had to be to survive, so that's really not a great example for eating lard/butter!

Don't get me wrong, Paula's my girl...I love her! Just replace all that *real butter* with the fake stuff and should be better, still not okay though...we southerners love our fats and butter...
