No excuse for this level of entitlement no matter what your stres level or financial situation is!
We need to stop making excuses for people feeling the need to be ahead of everyone else. It is called being RUDE. Just my two cents.
I agree - poor Thorne - looking for love but (sm)
LOL - can't wait to see the look on Stephanie's meddling old face.
I agree...it was the first thought that went--sm
through my head. Find another company! If this has happened previously, especially, find someone else to handle your mortgage. They are not all like that. Good luck to you, and I would be upset too.
yes, on second thought I agree.................nm

Its for the knowledge you get out of it
When I was in horse 4H, I had a pony, not a horse.  They gave us a handbook that taught us all about horses, the names of all the parts of the horse, proper grooming and saddling, etc.  I learned a lot from those meetings (they were at a farm where they had horses to demonstrate on).  They also had trail rides, etc., which my father refused to let me attend because he was a mean guy (his reason was my pony was so short I was likely to be kicked by someone in front of me with a tall horse).  I did learn a lot and enjoy it, but eventually the disasppointment of never getting to go on any horse activities did me in, and I dropped out.  It did enable to be better around horses, and I went on many rides at my aunt's on her horses, and could always saddle them to her satisfaction.  I'd say, let him go and see how much he can learn.
We are at Level I

Now it's freezing rain. I could do without that, but I like the snow!

Anyone with knowledge of strokes? (sm)
My father had a stroke two weeks ago and did not tell anyone - he lives an hour away and I had not seen him - I had talked to him quite a few times on the phone and he kept saying everything was great.  He has a roommate and apparently had told the roommate not to tell me.  So when I saw him in person Friday night, he told me.  It was not really obvious at that time, except when I saw him walk in front of me I noticed one of his legs seemed to drag a little.  I pleaded with him to go home with me and let me take him to a doctor.  But he kept insisting that he was not going to go, that it was two weeks ago and he was okay.  Finally on Monday, my brother (in Florida)  convinced him to let me take him to the doctor, so he said he would let me take him on Tuesday (yesterday) after he got a haircut and got all of his things in order.  Well, Monday evening he got a terrible headache and a pins and needles feeling and his roommate took him to the ER where I met them. By this time he could barely walk and had severe shaking in his left leg and arm.  He had another mild stroke yesterday evening.  He cannot even walk with the aid of a walker.  Here is my question:  Once a person loses function due to stroke can they ever get any of the function back or is it permanent?  Can rehab help them like it helps accident victims?
It might be public knowledge but
how you obtain is another matter. You cannot get someone in a public office (as stated below) to ramble through a persons records. That my dear is against the law and that is what was said and not only that but if the person committed crimes when a child or teenager, those records are sometimes totally off limits and closed to the public. I also have people in law enforcement but if I needed information, would not have them go through the records to get for me and risk losing their livelihood.
I am speaking with very little knowledge here..

I have only met one (1) pit bull in my life.  It was very pleasant, wanted to be petted, and never hostile.  What I did notice is how muscular it was and I remember thinking that I wouldn't want that dog to snap at me.  All dog breeds are capable of being aggressive (especially if there is a dominance issue), but some breeds are more muscular and less *intidimated* by humans than other breeds.   It seems to me (dog experts, please correct me) it would be easier to pull a Yorkie or a Cocker Spaniel off an attacked person than a pit bull.  I don't know how that applies to bigger breeds like labs or retrievers.

However, my humble opinion does not make up for the fact that you could face the loss of a loved family pet.  I hope it works out for you.

Have some animal knowledge

To those of you speaking about how pits are so evil, I have two things to say...

1.  Any dog is capable of that behavior.  We have two dogs and one is a search and rescue dog and both are very loving... but you should never ever underestimate a dog no matter what.  they are still animals and they still respond according to their instincts in certain situations.  ALL ANIMALS have this capability.

That being said...

2.  So if you outlaw pits, who's next?  What animal species will be evil incarnate after that?

Basically, it all boils down to the owners, the training and the language the animal gives off in certain situations.

For example, my friend recently told me that someone she knows put their golden to sleep because it bit their child.  When they euthanized the dog, a technician made the incidental finding that one of the kids had shoved a pen into the dogs ear.  They came to the realization that this is why the dog had bitten, but no one ever even tried to sit down and figure out what had happened... nope, the dog is just put down.. no questions.  You know, I would have torn that kid in two myself if that had happened to me, so its the kid and not the dog.

Go to a dog language class, take some training and learn some things before condemning an animal to death for "instincts" that supposedly only that breed has.  Its ridiculous and completely ignorant.

Yeah he is; my DH is too, but on a different level than yours - sm
Your husband hides it, that is a big sign of being an alcoholic. He drinks alcohol daily. These are 2 major signs; Google for the signs and I am sure you will find more. He is a functioning alcoholic; as is my DH. My DH does not hide it though; though he does hide the number of beers he drinks from the kids (for which I am happy) and from his parents when they visit. He runs off to drink in the bathroom when they are here. My DH know he is an alcoholic though I don't think he still quite believes it. He does not get really drunk though; or his body is so used to it he handles it well. I can only tell when he either gets really really talkative and won't leave me alone, or goes the other extreme and picks a big fight. Mine only drinks light beer which in his twisted mind he thinks that makes it okay because it is less alcohol, by what 1%? So he will down anywhere from 9-12 beers a night; has been doing this for the 12 years I have known him and at least 10 years before that. Yes, it causes problems. I get po'd because he forgets conversations we had, picks horrible fights and then "forgets" all about it and wonders why I am so upset, doesn't believe me when I tell him what he did/said---I think he remembers some of it just choses to act dumb because he knows he was such a jerk the night before. There is an organization for spouses/family of alcoholic, forget the name but it is connected to AA, maybe they can help. I've thought about it myself and may go one of these days once I find a meeting in my area. But they may be able to help you see things more clearly. You probably knew just did not want to admit it, it is easy to ignore and just hope he stops but that is not going to happen believe me.
We are at PANDEMIC LEVEL 5.
Look out! We might get a lot of working coming in. I suspect when the this flu hits secondary stage which is about 87 days we will be at full blown flu mode. Lucky you are at home. Beware, schools might be closing because of this threat of the flu.
I have a relative who has a wealth of knowledge
and was telling her about the posts on this board, namely this thread. She tells me she got a high school graduation and later baby shower invite from her great niece- this person never called, never wrote- my relative said they went in the garbage. She and I are on the same page. BTW, I have gotten late calls on days, like Mothers Day, Thanksgiving- etc. from people and I, like you, think after thought.
Back in the 80s my knowledge helped out some
I had all the symptoms that go with hypothyroidism, the intense itching, the never being able to get warm (with blankets over your head, etc.), went to my doctor and told him I wanted along with my physical exam to have test for thyroid as I thought had this. Went back, he forgot to order and so ordered that day, immediately referred to endo because my labs were off the chart, so to speak and lots of you know thyroid can lead to other problems, even death if left untreated. If I had not pushed this time, guess would be pushing up daisies now. For 2 family members I told others to ask for Megace (these people were skeletons and not eating) and because I knew it was appetite stimulant, I could tell them worth a try. Each gained their appetite and at least did not starve to death so after all these years I have learned a little!
excuse my lack of knowledge, but
I thought medicinal marijuana was legalized in CA some time ago. What a horrible situation, this calls for an uprising, let the power of the people be heard. That is exactly why this stuff is going on - we let it.
Excuse me...a little medical knowledge..sm
The IUD prevents any ovum from implanting, including a blighted or fertilized ovum. Sheesh.
Now that takes constipation to a whole new level! - nm

I think it depends on the maturity level more than the age -
My daughter started going home by herself for 30 minutes in the afternoon in 1st grade. We lived in a rural community and only 1/2 mile from my parents home.

However, I did not trust my son to stay at home by himself even when he was 12. It was too dangerous even with careful instructions on what he could and could not do, becuase he would always manage to find something he should not do that was not covered in the could not do's!
Okay, girls, I need some insight here on a personal level. (sm)

I have not had a man in my life for the past 3.5 years.  I have tried dating and get asked out all the time, but just no interest in the ones doing the asking I guess.  I have a very comfortable life and truly am in no need for a man to take care of me.  However, I have known this one particular man for over a year and just very recently our friendship seems to be heading to a different level and for the first time I am very attracted to him.  So, the other day he e-mailed me and both of us came clean on our feelings.  The problem is that he has had his present girlfriend for the past 7 years...they do not live together and really spend little time together, as their lives are significantly different and when asked why he simply states "it just isn't working out and that he could make more time to see her, but he doesn't"

Okay, so now I know I am going to get flamed, but where do you think it goes from here?  Both him and I have a seminar to attend with another man in 2 weeks and will also be staying at the same hotel,  etc. and I am just so confused as to how I go about keeping my distance but still wanting him.  What to do, what to do......this has been on my mind all day and so has he and I am so not use to these feelings at all....like high school all over again.

Blizzard-like conditions here in Indiana. Level II. SM
Level II means no cars on road unless absolutely necessary. My son was sent home from work. Calling for 8-10 inches of snow. It's the blowing snow that is dangerous.
Wait, there would be professional sports, just not at the level we see now, you know what I mean? nm

On my own personal level, I am sick and tired of the caveman, and
most of the time look away and/or mute when he comes on.  Secondly, the gecko bird reminds me of an old 'friend' who turned out to be as cold blooded as a reptile, nasty tail included.  Thus, I would like both removed from advertising forever....honestly.
we can make a quiet knowledge group effort to eliminate him

The WHO raised it to a phase/level 4 now. A phase
5 is pandemic. SARS never made it to a level 4, so it's getting scary now.
Poor you!
Right now I'm trying to transcribe for ESLs who dictate that way, and add whole sentences in prelude to something that actually means something. Stop with all the filler guys!
Oh, poor guy. sm

Sorry I referred to him as female before.  (I've had too much coffee today - I seem to have energy, but no focus.)  It is stressful to try to watch them all the time and to be worrying about them all the time.  I sure hope he'll be okay.

I actually meant to give you this website in my other post (like I said, no focus!)  It seems to cover pretty much everything about canine epilepsy, and I really like the advice way down near the bottom "Living With An Epileptic Pet."   http://www.canine-epilepsy.net/basics/basics_main.html

I think there are e-mail lists for people with epileptic pets too, which are probably very supportive and helpful.

I wish you both well.  Please let us know how he's doing.

poor pup!

Poor cat
I'd rather have Scooter Libby living in my neighborhood than these 2 girls or you, all 3 who apparently cannot see where the problem lies.
Oh no! Poor you! :-(

When I lost a filling NOTHING took the pain away and I loaded up on as much Tylenol as was safe.  The best thing I found was liquid Anbesol, the strongest strength they make, soaked on a piece of cotton gauze...the kind with like a webbing around it, put right over the tooth.  I also remember staying plastered pretty much the whole time with whiskey high balls.

I hope you feel better soon!  Nothing worse than dental pain, in my opinion.

Poor Puppy--sm
Wow. I feel so bad for the puppy (I call all doggies puppies no matter what size or age they are). I did not realize that pets could get or have SLE. I wish you the best for finding something to control symptoms. give puppy a pet for me too.
Poor baby!
I hope you can figure out what's going on with her.
Thank you for caring for that poor dog. sm
She must have been neglected for a long time.

With her coughing up mucus, she probably has pneumonia and needs antibiotics. She also needs dental work.

You might want to feed her some ground beef and rice. You should boil the beef, not fry it (no seasonings)and add it to cooked rice that has no seasonings. This is what my vet prescribed when one of my dogs was sick. It should be easy for her to eat this. But please get her to a vet ASAP.

She probably has some kind of allergy that is causing her to chew herself. Or she might be doing that because her teeth hurt her.

Poor fella...
I would have said, "Honey, I have a 15 minute break at 8, let me "talk" with you then." Throw the poor guy a bone! lol
Poor thing...
Try the packaged oatmeal bath specifically for itchy rashes. I did this with my little one, who is now 18, and it really seemed to help with the itching. You should be able to find it at the pharmacy or ask your pharmacist. Maybe even a little Benadryl will help her rest and keep her from itching as well.

Wishing her a speedy recovery and prayers!
Poor animals!
A ''crate'' is just a nice term for a cage. How sad to cage a dog or cat.
Poor thing is very odd looking...
an excellent singer though!
Poor kid.... I felt bad for him
I agree that he surely didn't measure up vocally to the others. He seems like a nice kid, though, and even most adults couldn't take being talked about the way he has been. I really felt for him up there. I hope he has a lot of fun when they're on tour. I think he's going to be getting the biggest reaction from the crowds.
Oh, poor hubby. Now he has to do all the
driving of kids, cooking, laundry, vacuuming, etc. until your ankle heals. 'Cause you know, you're supposed to elevate your foot so it can heal.

No need to get mad - just apologize to him when you have to ask him to do all that stuff, LOL.

He'll never do that again.
:oD
House poor
I would not buy this home, and I'm not sure the bank would allow you to buy it anyway at your current incomes. Banks used to use the 28/36 formula (no more than 28% of income for house payment and 36% total for car loans, credit cards, etc.). Nowadays, they've relaxed those guidelines which could explain the skyrocketing foreclosure rate right now. As someone else posted below, babies and children in general cost lots of money, even for their most basic needs. I would try to find a smaller, older home instead.
You poor dear. I know exactly what you are saying.
I have 4 children with my husband. I don't even like leaving them at home with him. It's not that he is abusive but I just feel like I should be there in case he starts his antics with them. They are pretty tough though. Even at their early ages they have him figured out and sometimes I think they cope with him better than I do. They have this wonderful ability to mentally block him out that I wish I had sometimes. They just act like he isn't even in the room. I guess God takes care of them b/c they are the innocent victims.
Ha! I might suggest that to the poor
folks who still work there. This woman would probably put them on KP duty, though.

Poor Thorne

He is just looking for love and now he is getting played by Donna (who in my opinion looks like a tramp and is acting like one).  I do agree that the look on Stephanie's face will be priceless...and then she will lunge at Donna and try to kill her....good times, good times!

Oh your poor daughter!

I know exactly the humiliation she is feeling and can totally relate.  What that 'teacher' said and did is just wrong.  I can only hope she didn't mentally scar your daughter for the rest of her life.

I got my first period when I was in junior high...was wearing a white skirt to boot.  I heard giggling and normal noise of all us students transferring to and from class but had no idea people were laughing at ME.  Finally, halfway through the day, an older girl who I had no idea who she was, pulled me into the bathroom and said that I may want to go to the nurse's office because there was blood all over the back of my skirt.  I actually took off my skirt, washed it in the TOILET WATER, and hid there the rest of the day until the final bus left and walked home, probably at least 5 miles, completely destroyed.

For such a 'normal' body function that no one should be surprised about, why on earth did no one bother to tell me about it, rather humiliate me like that?  ...and yes, it messed me up for life.

That adult needs to have her naked behind paddled in public in front of all her peers to even come close to feeling the humiliation your daughter just felt.  Go right to the top and defend your poor daughter.

Aw - Poor Lil Ole You - Jealous, huh? (nm)

Poor things! sm

You must be heartbroken.  How sad!    You did the best you could.

Oh goodness! Your poor mom!
Sort of have a similar story but my MIL was the one calling about my DH. She took DH to the ER for a severe attack of Crohn's; I stayed home with the kids.

I am dead asleep and MIL calls at 11:30 p.m. and says "we almost lost him." I asked what she was talking about and couldn't figure out what was going on. She tells me she thought he wasn't breathing, starts lecturing me about how I should have called her sooner to take him, that none of the triage staff would help my DH and she called 911 from the ER waiting room. I was far too disoriented to drive there as I had taken a sleeping pill. I felt pretty helpless.

She phoned me again at 6:30 a.m. She apologized for calling like she did.

He did indeed have a severe Crohn's flare up but his BP was fine as well as all his vitals. She insisted that the triage nurse falsified his vitals. Next time I'll call an ambulance for him instead of her.

I hope your dad is okay today. Saying a prayer for you and your family (if that is okay).
I know...poor kitties! (nm)

Aw, you poor thing!
My dad was once with my mom and their grandchild, and I guess mom was pushing my niece on a swing and dad sat down on a bench. Well it was a warm day, and naturally he fell asleep. Next thing he knows, park security is asking him to move along, like he's a vagrant. Or maybe his snoring was scaring the kids - I donno. :op

Awwww poor little guy!
His eyes seem to be saying, "Why are you humiliating me like this?"
