leg and calf swelling sm

Does anyone else have trouble with their legs swelling after they sit and transcribe or just sit with legs hanging down for extended periods.  I am having that problem.  After a couple hours my legs, especially around the calves, feel really tight and achy.  I get up and walk around or go lay down and elevate them and after a bit they are just fine.  I assume this is from from sitting.  I try and wiggle my legs but it doesn't see to be enough.  Do those ugly support/elastic socks help this?  If it does I will wear them, I don't care what they look like.  Been doing this for 31 years and jsut recently went back to work after a two year hiatus.  I am 53 and it is different, it seems, when you get older!  LOL

I need to lose about 50 pounds too and I wonder if that will help also.  I have tried everything.  Any ideas?  I am going nuts.

Pain down back of right calf when working (sm)
Does anyone else get this? I never had it in the past, never had an carpal tunnel issues, but for a month or so, only when working, I get a pain right down the middle of the back of my calf in just a short strip, about an inch or two under the back of my knee spreading down a few inches, and if I get up and move around it goes away temporarily.  Anyone ever had that or know what it is?
Leg swelling. Anybody have sm

leg swelling just from sitting for long periods?  Didn't use to have this but have had it latgely.  Soon as I lay down and put my feet up it stops.  Any suggestions as to how to stop this?  It is really aggravating and scared it may cause blood clots.

Sure would like some suggestions.

Did it help your foot swelling too? (sm)
Because I have that too. And I get so sleepy I can barely stay awake!
swelling legs
mine have done this but I notice it is after I have had a LOOOOONG day of typing or if it gets a little too warm, I move around & as soon as I get up, it quickly goes away..
how much did u gain from swelling in pregnancy?

I am almost 37 weeks along with my first child (girl!). I have gained a third of my pregnancy weight in the last month due to giant man feet and ankles. Yuck! I haven't worn my wedding ring for months-the hands were swollen first, but then came the feet. I had to wear my new found velcro strap sandles to my anniversary dinner this week. I had on a lovely skyblue knit dress with a beautiful blue topaz necklace my husband bought as an anniversary gift, and it was all topped off with my velcro summer sandles.  I just had to giggle at myself, but really when no other shoe fits what are you supposed to do?

Does anyone else have some good stories so I know I'm not alone? Thanks.

tis bilateral swelling from sitting. sm
When I put my feet up when I go to bed the swelling goes away. I am wondering if the TED hose really work, etc. etc. They both get pretty tight around the calf when this happens. I do worry that it might progress to a DVT so I try to move around as much as possible.
I've had shin splints before, but never swelling with it.
I walk a lot, about 4 miles a day, and I backpack, so I can sometimes have stress and overuse injuries in my legs. I've been diagnosed with shin splints in the past and had PT. Never did I have swelling with shin splint. You might have a vascular problem. Perhaps a clot? My MIL has very bad varicose veins and had a very large clot in her leg one time. Her symptoms were very similar to yours. You should get this checked out ASAP.
Numbness/tingling/slight swelling in face

I had a 1-hour massage 2 days ago.  I have problems most with my neck and upper back being tight and sore, limited ROM...wonder why?? lol

This morning I had a fullness in the right supraclavicular area, kind of fluidy, and a sense of it being "full" but no pain.  Later on I noted numbness, tingling and very slight swelling in the right side of my face.

As far as I know, I didn't get a bug bite or eat something I am allergic to.  This happened last year two or three times, but much more swelling and numbness (looked almost like Bell's palsy).  These other times I never felt the fluidy fullness in my neck like today...this time because it started in my neck, I was worried it was due to some lymphatics draining in my neck.  The fluidness feeling is gone but I have a more definite area of supraclavicular swelling and it is painful to palpate.

I am thinking of going to our ER/walk-in clinic to get it checked out...or should I just wait it out and see what happens?

BTW, I am waiting for my Rheumatology referral, due to chronically elevated sed rate (76 last time), low positive CRP and slightly positive RF.  Joint and muscle pains abound...

Thanks in advance.

Anyone had shin splints or swelling in your pedal foot? sm

Been doing this type of work a long time, and I am fairly overweight. I get swelling in my calf and ankle on the right, and it is usually worse at the end of a long day of working.  Also the front of my shin has been sore for a while, I think actually shin splints from pedaling all the time.  Anyone else have or had this?

Thanks
