I said "i asked them about it and they said they had no problem smoking outside".
you must have thought that meant I asked them to smoke outside.

Actually the conversation went like this, upon walking into the smoke smelling house I said, do you guys smoke? and they IMMEDIATELY SAID "yes, but we can smoke outside, that is no big deal" and i said, oh i dont think it's a problem really. and they continued to say, it wouldn't be for them.

So THAT is why i came here to say, well since they offered, is it wrong to say hey do you mind doing what you said?

that's why i asked if it was wrong in the first place and got jumped all over for it. I was ASKING for input not to be harrassed.

the MAIN QUESTION WAS IF YOU LIVE WITH SMOKERS ARE YOU ALWAYS GOING TO SMELL LIKE SMOKERS? that's what i should have asked.

People LOVE to get all worked up and be rude to people, it makes no sense to me. I have a lovely life and dont want to deal with people that feel so small about themselves that they have to constantly belittle others.

it's so disturbing and really quite sad. Good luck in becoming a happier person.
