stinging nettle

I'm not into herbs, but my sister-in-law relies on them a lot.  My brother (her husband) disturbed a wasp or hornet nest of some sort this summer while working in the yard.  He is known to be allergic to insect stings.  He was stung multiple times and the resulting welts left him miserable, plus he felt physically ill. She gave him stinging nettle capsules and she says it helped tremendously and in short order.  It is a natural antihistamine.  My brother is a big man too, probably 400 pounds.
