I'm a Ny'er
I'm in Ny, and trying to find a position but everyone wants at least 2 years experience. Any idea where to go??
well if you are a NY'er, then this is not that far from you -
are you serious??? You would honestly relocate here, start a new life with the DH and kids?

I, too, have had friends that moved from one state to another with their family for a job and better lifestyle.
Lucky NY'er
Lucky you in NY.  I was born and raised in NYC and Long Island and hopefully within the next year I will be going back to NY (I now live in CA).  It is so hot here today.  This is the 17th day of triple digits.  We broke the record today for the longest heat wave.  Right now it is 106 degrees.

Not an AAMT'er - have a ?
What is the big deal about AAMT and the BOS.  I understand it may be a very nice guideline for some, but why is it such a big deal?  I do not belong, but I have a lot of on the job experience that tells me they are not always correct.  The physician actually points out what he/she would like to have in the report.  I had a physician even say that Tinel sign should be typed this way, but most say Tinel's sign.  I don't know what the correct way is for the AAMT, and frankly, I can't say that I really care.  It is a shame that an organization would charge so much for a trip to re-learn what you already know, that the doctor is always right, never the transcriptionist!  I am aiming to please the physician, not some organization trying to make $$$$ from MTs.  I don't even think the physicians I work for know what that organization is and how it works or care what it stands for, they just want their reports transcribed in an accurate, timely fashion for the purposes of keeping their patients' care documented.  Simple as it seems, that is the experience I've had!  Any others know what the big deal is, and why this organization has such an impact on the business??????
Hey Soho and Dutchess - another NY'er

QA means knowledgeable, not infallible or perfect -- As a new QA'er, I will be the first to admit
have things to learn, even though I've been doing MT for a long time.
