 There is. Right click anywhere on your bottom tool or task bar, open task manager. Look under processes for what is running and how much memory everthing is using. Click on the performance tab and look at Available under physical memory for your total available.  You can kill processes under the process tab by highlighting and clicking end process or right click and end process. Be sure you know what it is you're killing first. If it's a critical system process it won't let you kill it, but you might be closing something you need if you're not sure.
