Adaptability

I can and have adapted to ESLs because I have had no choice.  They're everywhere.  I could adapt to VR if I had no other choice but I could not and would not adapt to the poverty wages paid for this....4 to 6 cents a line.  The MTs I know who are so kindly adapting to VR cannot produce the 2500 lines a day required to make a decent living.  I would rather work at Burger King than strain my cranium to make an employer rich while I struggle to make a living with VR.  There will always be someone who needs a transcriber, not an editor.  I will be glad when I can retire and get out of this absurd situation with doctors who won't dictate properly and hospitals and MT liaisons who won't require them to.  I don't feel like a professional.  I feel like an abused word processor.
