Anyone visited Tweetsie Railroad in NC and surrounding attractions lately?sm

Thinking about taking the family to Tweetsie Railroad next month.  My husband went there a long time ago and now he thinks it would be a fun trip.  After looking at the website it does look like family fun!  We have a 4-year-old son who loves trains.  I was looking through websites to find some nice places to stay.  It seemed like they had a few.  Any information on past experiences would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

Railroad conductor
My husband is a railroad conduction for the past 38 years... only four years left until retirement. (he also can't wait to get out) It really is a LIFESTYLE job. Has worked on-call, irregular schedules, etc. so being a MT at home is a great option for me, otherwise when I worked FT in an office we could go weeks without seeing each other. $$$ used to be pretty good for awhile, but to really make it you have to give them your life.. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, no holidays, no weekends off. You really miss out on alot of family life with his type of work, can never make any plans because you never know when you will be called to work. He feels sorry for the NEW GUYS coming in, so many changes, etc. like any other profession and less $$$ too. I'm younger and will try to keep working at MT after that.. if there are still MT jobs around... I'd like to take my work on the road and we would like to travel some when he retires.. anyone else traveled and transcribed? Paying for health insurance will be my biggest concern, have been socking away my own 401K $$$ to go towards that or maybe I'll have to give up my flexibility and find a full-time job with good benefits... who knows? I would love to find some type of business that would involve travel in the future too.
Love at first sight on the Long Island RailRoad
On the Long Island Railroad, traveling to Greenwich Village for the day and he traveling to a concert in Queens, NY.  The instant I looked at his face and he talked to me and sat across from me on the train, I knew we would make history together, I knew something was gonna happen between us.  He got off the train, I continued on to Greenwich Village, NYC..didnt get his number, nor he mine.  Four months later I was driving into my apartment parking lot and he was driving behind me, said he recognized me from my sunglasses as I looked in the rear view mirror.  He asked for my phone number and the rest is history..It was truly love at first sight..
Any ideas for family vacations near WV or surrounding states? sm
We are in such NEED of a relaxing fun vacation.  We are from WV.  We love the beach also.  My husband and I have a 3-1/2-year-old son and are thinking about taking a vacation early June or mid-June.  Does anyone have any ideas of a nice relaxing place that would be good for us and our son?  Any websites or details would be GREATLY appreciated.  We have been struggling for about 6 months now due to health issues and finances.  We really are hoping to get our finances in order by then so we can enjoy our family.  Stress has been about to kill us.  Hope you are all doing well and I truly appreciate your suggestions!
I would start with hospital websites in the surrounding areas to whatever facility you type for. SM

Hospital websites usually have a pretty good physician directory you can search through by name or by speciality, which is nice.

I also use the AMA website which has a sound alike search feature which is helpful.  Here is URL for the AMA doctor finder.

Also, some states have websites for the medical board licensing or professional licensing where you can look up doctors with licenses in that state.  You might do a Google search for whatever state your facility is in.

Another good one that I use is the WebMD physician finder.  Here's the URL for that one:

Hope this helps you.

Me, too, I visited sm
I am a fellow New Yorker, although a few miles upstate.  My daughter lives in Brooklyn, works in Manhattan, and I visit often.  I loved your gargoyle stuff.  Isn't Manhattan the most magic place?  Please keep blogging.  I really enjoyed all of it.  Street finds.  LOL.  Definitely.  My kid found the greatest headboard and footboard and bed frame there, just waiting.
I've never even visited OR, but that's where
I told DH I want to live. He works for Target now, and his boss told him it could be arranged!! I do have an in-office job I enjoy here in NC, and houses here are quite affordable, but I just know my real home is somewhere in Oregon. I understand it has the longest ski season of any State. I have Siberian huskies, and there are places I can take them and have them hitched up to a sled with a team! Wouldn't that be cooooool???

I have family here in NC that would not understand. I also finally have a great Baptist church. I heard there are hardly any churches there.

I'm so confused! LOL
I visited that site just now and...
It totally blows!  Incredibly hard to navigate and seems totally dead...no way nearly as helpful or informative as this one.
I couldn't see it until I visited the site where you got it from.
x
I visited the website you listed and according
to that, it is not an insurance plan. It is a savings plan. You get a membership card that gets you savings on medical care at participating providers, not insurance.
they have visited a couple of churches (sm)
They haven't found one yet that they think they will attend on a long-term basis.  I know that will help a lot once they get settled in a church.  That is actually a huge part of the problem.  She has attended the same church since she was born!  Same pastor and everything!  I don't think there is going to be a church that will live up to her expectations but I hope she finds one soon that has people her age age.  My parents just picked my son up (he's 13) and they are going to visit her a couple of days.  They're hoping it will not make it worse though.  Hopefully they can help watch the kids so they can get some things done around the house and make it seem more like home.  Thanks for the suggestions.
I visited your blog--very nice!

It looks so professional and all fancy-like!  Keep it up!

My SIL visited me in Georgia from California
and she was shocked to see what kind of home we could get here for under $250,000 compared to what they have where she lives. Her thinking was my community was really high in cost when no home goes for over $450,000. The prices are really great here.
Visited Idaho a few years back sm
beautiful, beautiful state. Decided that's where I want to retire.
Free rooms? Not when I visited at the Bellagio!
Tell me, where did you find free rooms in Vegas?
Great city; I stayed in Dunlaoghaire (sp?) and visited Dublin. nm
