how to load files into Express
I can not remember how to set up express scribe to load files from my computer.
Trying to load voice files, anyone?

Wanting to go to work for a new company. What I am getting is - voice files failed to load- object does not support this method.

I would like to know- has anyone experienced something similar and if so any suggestions? Thought maybe too much on my computer or ?? Thanks so much.

Trying to load files from a company
onto my home computer and this is the message I am getting. I can hear audio from other things, just not the company I am hoping to work for. Should your headgear always fit into the front of the PC or is it ok in the back- does this have anything to do with it?
Everytime you re-load Word you need to re-load Stedmans medical spellchecker.

How you you all back-up your computer files? sm
I am getting a new computer and want to transfer all my files over, but I've never done this and have no clue how to do it!  Also, I work on Escription and ExText so is it possible to transfer these files over as well?
for voice files on computer, try plugging
your headset directly into the computer where the speakers normally go and see if that helps. Also, you can get a volume amplifier for this. It sure helped me.
That means that medical files will be in computer
Information technology jobs are the ones that create, build & maintain the systems and networks we all work on.

Undoubtedly, a conversion from hard-copy medical files to electronic ones would entail a certain amount of data-entry for records to be transferred.

But whether the actual record is on a hard-copy chart or an EMR, if the info is dictated into a microphone, somebody's got to turn the doctor's mumbled, gum-chewing gibberish into meaningful, legible and legal medical documentation.
This is a very basic computer skill/concept. You copy files to another drive using Explorer.

There are very detailed instructions in the Help files that accompany Windows. You can read those for more information.

Basically, you open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer). Locate the files you want to copy, highlight and right mouse click. Choose Copy. Now, find the location where you want to copy these files (usually another drive like D: or H:, whereever the flash/jump/thumb drive is located) and paste the files there.

Filezilla is the software used to transfer files to an FTP server where the files "reside".

Converting voice files to digital files

I have a Voice Solutions dictation system that will happily convert DS4000 voice files to digital when they are downloaded (wave files). However, it will not recognize any other files for conversion. I had a physician download .WAM files from his DS-30 and my dictation system would not convert it. Anyone have any suggestions?  I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks!!!

Did you save files in .rtf format? The files need to be
as a Word document or it won't count them. Could be the problem.
What a load of ....
hooey!  Forty five-year-old people getting high, cussing like teenagers (can you say no class), and acting like idiots?  You MUST be an old hippie.  The  establishement?  LOL  Yes, I must be a sell out. But then again, I know how to act in a social setting without offending everybody in a  10 foot radius. Don't even get me started about hippies. My brother is a 57-year-old specimen who hasn't grown up either, still toking on his joints every day.  God gave us the ability to judge for good reason.
Get a load of this....

MTSO here - I *used* to send my accounts Christmas gifts, but I stopped doing it.  Why?  Because one year, after sending a $100.00 gift basket to one of my docs, for thanks, he dictated a formal letter to me, mixed in with his other dictation, thanking me!!??

Another very well to do doc sent me a $3.00 or so Walmart-style Hersey mug with a little bag of Hersey kisses in return for the nice gift basket I sent him.

Two years in a row, another doc couldn't even scrung up a thank you note - no acknowledgement whatsoever.

Another office did the same thing - no thank you - no note - no nothing.

Needless to say, my gift giving came to an end after about three years of this.

What a load of crap!!!!....nm

One brick shy of a load.....

Work load
I've been with Amphion since June and it has been pretty easy to steadily increase my line count. I've never been harassed by anyone. There is tons of work and right now mandatory overtime, an hour extra a day plus whatever you want to work after that. I have no complaints myself.
work load
Not too much going on today.   I did about 300 lines, (whee!) and did about 1200 yesterday.  Boring...
yep - my PS said not to load it and I disabled
.
Use the Load button.
Find the Load button in the toolbar, navigate to where the file is saved and load it into Express Scribe.
Can you tolerate the ESL load trying to get up

Work Load
For the past 4 months the work load has been consistently lighter, i.e., less work throughout the day. At first I thought the company overhired, then I blamed the holidays, and now my boss is blaming the Inauguration. I have 4 accounts and all 4 have less work during the day and run out by 7 or 9 pm. EST. Three are based in the Maryland area and 1 is in Florida (so the Inauguration blame game does not work there) I can't even begin to understand how the West Coast girls are dealing with this. Anyone else having this problem? I am trying to decide if it is worthwhile to pick up a part-time job or just hope this gets better? My pay has been steadily decreasing for 4 months now and it has to start picking up or I can't keep up with the bills.
get a load of this math

ST:  250 lines an hour at 8 cents a line is $20.00.  (I can do 250 an hour if I concentrate).  If I can only do 200 lines an hour, that is still $16.00 an hour.

Now for the VR:

VR:  400 lines (roughly 60% more than straight typing 250 lines an hour) at 3 cents a line is $12.00.

How is that more money?  It's a 25% cut!

How many of you spent years perfecting your macros and shortcuts and Expanders just to have it taken away from you so you can't make a decent living?

I won't be doing any VR work.  I think they wasted their money with this new technology.  They could have given us raises with that money and had happy employees cranking out the lines.  Win-win.

Too bad for us.  Shafted, once again!

let it load up completely and then just listen...sm

and watch the screen - turn speakers on!!  too funny but Big Brother did come to mind....*grin*

How can I get it to auto load the next file? sm

I'm also new to ES and can't figure out how to get it to auto load the next job file when I click "done" with the current file.  I have all my voice files in a folder and it loads them all, but sure would like to not have to manually load each new one.  Can anyone help?  TIA!

decreased patient load
I'm in an office doing transcription and our revenue is way down. Even people with insurance still have to pay some part of their office visit or test or prescription and making those payments has become difficult so they're either avoiding paying them or avoiding coming in for the appointment. So, yes the economy is affecting our business as well b/c the patient load is down significantly.
Most companies do no use their only files (HIPAA). They use files provided by other companies, serv
If you can get through the test files, then the sound quality on the actual company files is better. And, the dictation is never as bad as the test files, plus you have QA to help with hard blanks.
Is it their computer? Why are they installing a firewall and autocorrect on your computer? That sm
is usually the responsibility of the transcriptionist, especially if an IC or SE.  Which company?

Sounds like a load of horse puckey.
The ONLY way I can see that, and I highly doubt it, is if her docs have mostly standard exams that give her a HUGE boost in lines.

On eScription I did a group of cancer docs who really had pretty standard exams so I could EDIT 1000 lph easily but noooo way could I straight type 600 lph.
If 2much, just load AVG and SUPERantispyware; Very good ones NM

If you can increase your work load with current company

that would be better than getting a second job.  It will take you a while to learn new dictators and/or new platform so you won't be making that much money initially for the time you are putting into a new job.  If you are able to pay bills with the debt currently I would just go on a strict budget and cut out any extras.   If you can get a home equity loan to consolidate bills.  Debt will still be there, but instead of several bills to keep up with, you can focus on one and pay debt off sooner.

It sounds like he has given you the Olympus program. I would go ahead and load it and configure
your pedal to work with the Olympus program.  The files that work with Olympus are .DSS files and while your Bytescribe program may be able to play those files, it will work much better with the Olympus program.  Problem with the Olympus program is that it ONLY plays .DSS files and nothing else or it used to five years ago.  They may have come out with an updated versions since then.
