I think it was Clinton. All physicians/hospitals have to start implementing electronic medical records by a certain date, deadline I believe was 2006, but I think I heard to be completed by 2015. Obama is pushing this also. It is a law. Anyway, I know it is going to replace MTs and others. The doctors just click on what they want to put into the report, the doctor types what you say when you are at the doctors office and then coding etc is being implemented into it. I think consults (in depth ones) will be dictated, but I think most will be eliminated. Hope I am wrong, but I have actually seen it work.
