Marry me?! :) Seriously...hear, hear. Good post. - nm

Make sure you apply again if they post again.

I don't think they keep resumes from different postings.  That happened to me.  I did not get a response from the first and when I applied with the same company the next week for a different job I was contacted.

Also, make sure you have everything on your resume that a recruiter or AM would want to know, even what type of equipment you have.  Do not just list that you have - say - cardiology experience or neurology experience.  Be specific about what types of reports, op notes, different tests, etc.  Try to think of the things that would eliminate alot of questions and investigation on their part.  Hang in there.  Check the posts every day.  Gets old, doesn't it?

Doesn't apply. According to original post, there was no dictation involved. NM

I like your style! :) Can you tell us where you work so we can apply? Thx. nm

You might apply for some clinic work. sm
It can be a step towards acute care. At least you have experience with some transcription. You might learn to use the internet there, and then try for acute care without OPs, until you feel ready to handle them. Good luck with whatever you do.
Don't work for them but did apply. Did the testing, and afterwards received reply that
they do not use people from my state. Check with them before testing.
Please post a followup when/if you hear anything about this...

Starting to talk to supervisor (and then probably payroll) myself about this, as I'd also like an explanation as to how this figure was derived (so I can hopefully double-check to be sure it doesn't occur again).

I feel somewhat like a stupid unpaid shill for MQ now, having defended the line counts on DQS on several MT boards a couple of times now, because I have occasionally randomly copied and pasted my reports into Word and "seemingly" confirmed that the line counts in DQS were accurate.

Considering the amounts of these checks in general, being dependent on how long one's been on DQS (mine is less than $8, but I've only been on DQS for six months or so), I suspect it's something like them incorrectly rounding up (like maybe not crediting 64.5 as 65 but as 64?) or some little arithmetical folderol like that.

Anyway, I'd be very interested to hear what the discrepancy is all about, from anyone who hears anything.  I sure do feel that we were owed an explanation in the letter along with the check, regardless.

I am anxious to here a response to this as well..... nm
NM
Tell me, why are you anxious to go into transcription?
NM
job interview - anxious
Ok, I am hoping to be interviewed for a MT job at a local hospital.  I have not been through an interview process in quite some time.  What can I expect in the way of interview questions? TIA
I have this happen too...anxious to see response...nm

Head tired, body anxious
Anybody else have symptoms where your head is tired, but your body is anxious?  At night it is the opposite, my head keeps running, but my body is tired.  I find it hard to focus on work, but if I take anything to help me concentrate, i.e., Adderrall, then I feel all my muscles tense up and my heart beat faster.  Its driving me nuts.  Anybody else have this problem and have a remedy?  Thanks!
I hear that; we had tapes broken several times where silly office people had put post-it notes on th
In retrospect, it was nearly laughable.
Work is not saved for certain MT's. I hear same complaint
z
I hear Radnet won't work with Word autoentries and stuff.
And I never worked out of Word before, so what are good and cheap word Expanders - will any import my Word shortcuts and expanders?
RE: I hear Radnet won't work with Word autoentries and stuff.
I currently use RadNet at my in-house job, and it has its own shortcut Expander pre-programmed. You create the expansion and use F9 to launch the expansion.
Brain dead today - or is it hear hear? I'm going to bed.
nm
So if I work for Ford, I should not post that on

Post resume and see if you can get IC work to
xx
don't post your name or the company you work for, no one will know your identity. SM
why did you even bother to reply so negatively. If it bothers you to answer this poll, than ignore the post. Negativity is so unattractive.
You disagree with a post saying clinic work different?
Basically I said the 4s are a lot different than clinic and harder. Was not telling her everyone made the numbers I do but just saying it took me a long time to get the terminology, etc. under my belt.
You have to scour every post on every board. No thanks! I have to work.

Link didn't work in last post

Please post the link again; it doesn't seem to work for me. Thanks. n/m

Hear, hear! I agree with Dakota - sm
The MTSO should be giving feedback to the hospital/doctors who slur, speak too rapidly, etc. They need to pull up their socks! And there's no reason why these doctors shouldn't be given an outline of what is expected from them when they dictate, such as cell phones, chewing food, candy, gum, etc.
I've been meaing to post on this subject, but have to work too many hours now just to pay the bil
I've been at this for 16+ years and when I started, there were few big nationals, just small transcription companies that cared about their MTs and paid very well.  Once I got trained on an account, I usually averaged over $30 an hour, always had work, and was proud of the living I could make in this profession.  Now, pay keeps going down, down, down and I am panicked by how little money I am able to make, and even more panicked when I read the jobs for MTs and see the pay being offered is insulting and dismal.  I cannot believe this is the pay being offered for those of us trained in highly technical medical terminology and responsible for the accuracy of  documents that affect people's lives.  I urge everyone with experience in this field not to accept this kind of pay - maybe if enough of us make a stand, something will have to change for the better.  As it is, I might just have to take a job at Wal-Mart.
great post - we have people that work at home in our hospital - sm
but getting them to work is like asking them to do a big favor. They constantly have the excuse "oh my kids are here, I have to play with them." "I can't work because my kids have a cold." "I can't work because my kids want to go outside and play."

I could go on and on and on. Those of us that work inhouse and have kids don't seem to have "the problems"
Can you post initials of company you work for? I'd hate to go thru all those docs. Thx. nm

I had found an earlier post that said Infinity would work with InScribe, but sm
I don't think the poster knew about the most recent upgrade.

I had also read about the start/stop pedal being frustrating due to it not stopping immediately. I did find one at Dictran that said exclusively for InScribe, but there are two types there, so that was also confusing!

If the latest version, post below says regular Infinity pedal will not work and cannot use outside p

read the whole post - good lord- you act like I am telling you to work for free--
The fact is "YOU ARE NOT TYPING THE LINE" So why get paid to type that line?

I merely suggested hourly pay. Good Grief!! If you people didn't have something to argue about, I think you would all go bananas.
Will the same apply for IC??
x
I'd like to apply.

Apply, apply, apply
I would suggest you check the archives of this and other MT boards.  I would also suggest you send out a lot of resumes and apply to many companies.  A great company for one person might not be a great company for you.  I would never quit one company unless I already had a job with another one.  If possible, work the 2 jobs to see which one is worth leaving and which one is worth staying with.  Don't sell yourself short.  You only deserve the best.
No, you don't want to apply here.
If the Twilight Zone did a show regarding transcription companies, this would be it.
I'd t ake it. If you don't want it, I'd like to apply.
;-D
does not apply to IC's...sm
you are self employed, remember? therefore YOU are the employer. If you have your house built and the guy who comes to put the siding on is slow, and doesn't know what he is doing, he might only make $3.00/hr by the time he's done. Does he go to your builder and say you need to pay me minimum wage...no, he bid the job and he is responsible for doing enough work in an hour to make it worth his while...just like you are!
400-650 when I apply myself.
Using Escription.
Apply to any and all

You can find online, through magazines, etc.  I applied to over 100 when I first started out after school, and finally found someone who was willing to give me a try.  You will eventually find someone.

Also, if you can't find someone to hire you right away, write to a company to see if they might give you a short intern position or something.  It would be worth a try anyway.

Good Luck with your search!

did we apply for the same job? LOL sm
I've been at home for 12 years and it's taking a toll on me. I need some social interaction. There are 2 local hospitals here and one had a unit clerk, nights and weekends. I applied and within a few days, emailed me back and said no. Geez, didn't even get an interview.
Why is it only for SEs? If its really quality they want it should apply to

Quality is quality whether an employee or not.

FYI, you can apply online...sm

at:  www.fafsa.ed.gov

All the instructions are on this site.  You can get your "PIN" here (which you will use for applying online) and and also fill out your application for aid online.

1099 does not apply to SE
xx
Let's apply your logic here once again.
OK.  So now people who don't like skanky celebrities think the celebs are their friends?  ROFL!  Please, keep posting.  It's quite amusing.  The more you post, the more you reveal your own crazy thinking.  Must be why you like Angelina so much.  She's some hotty kinda nutjob, eh?  Birds of a feather flock together.  Chirp, chirp!
I did say that what I was talking about might not apply to the OP
Those are problems I usually see in MTs who have received an inadequate education in transcription, or who have only worked for 1 or 2 doctors in-house. If you weren't serious about "Why go to MT school" as a question, then I misunderstood.
So are you hiring or not? I'd like to apply
and see if I have what it takes to work for you.
Thanks..I won't bother to apply with them now.
nm
Call me if you would like to apply
I don't count the peaNUTS. I have someone do that for me. Actually, it usually turns into a naughty game if you know what I mean. Would you like to be a counter in the weekly peaNUT game? We always have room for more.
Not because of pasting but if you apply to any job
if it reaches the company you sent your resume to, just like when you post a message your email is already filled in.  It's cookies in your browser like above poster said.
Thank you a bunch! Looking to apply
there - are they good?
