I think the initials of that company might have a MQ in them.
I had the same experience. Once I finally got a computer and finished training, my one contact was out of town for a week at a seminar for supervisors. I totally fell through the cracks.
I use my own initials whenever I post. This seems to
be out of hand, sorry I snapped but felt like you were attacking me for asking a question. I get enough abuse at home, don't need it from strangers too !!!
hate to stick up for the docs, but..
they are getting screwed on their end as well.  of course we get overlooked, we are the ones they don't see.  i used to manage a derm clinic and they had to resort to cosmetic procedures just to make ends meet.  between the the lack of insurance payments and the increased liability insurance, there is not much money to go around.  that is why most private physicians are joining hospital owned practices.  the hospital will cover their insurance fees and they get a decent paycheck.  i have seen their bottom line at the end of the year and a hard working plumber or electrician (that owns their own company) makes just as much, if not more.
Doctor's hate to dictate. I can't tell you how many docs

have told me over the years how dictating is their least favorite part of their job.  This is why so many of them suck at it.  I used to the transcription supervisor at a teaching hospital and I used to have to train the new residents each year on the dictation system and I used to beg them to dictate slowly and clearly and I would bribe them with promises of food.  I would stock the chart completion room where most of the dictated from with all kinds of snacks and treats.

Docs are so sweet when they are residents.  Then they turn ugly as the years go by!

don't post your name or the company you work for, no one will know your identity. SM
why did you even bother to reply so negatively. If it bothers you to answer this poll, than ignore the post. Negativity is so unattractive.
Can you give the initials of this company? Sure don't want to apply here! Feel bad for you. nm

Hey, no problem. I didn't post a name or initials, so you probably wouldn't have known it was

Love psych notes. HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE,
HATE ER notes.
Love being an MT--hate the company I
work for most days. I have left several times and find myself coming back. I have decided to stay because being at home far outweighs being out with all the stupid people!
Love the softwares but hate the company.
asdf
I have decided to quit my job. I hate this company.
It's worse than ANYWHERE I have ever worked before.  The problem is that I don't have another job yet.  However, I know I can easily find another job.  I just don't know if I should hang on to do the responsible thing and find another job first. ~ OR ~ If I should take some time off for Christmas with the kids instead of busting my chops for this company when I know I'm not going to stay anyway.  I wonder if they give Christmas presents or bonuses.  LOL  I can take my $7 an hour from their lousy ESLs and crummy platform and go buy lottery tickets and a bottle of cheap wine!  Hooey!  McDonald's, here I come!!!!
The office I work for some of the docs went

Now the office staff who handles the dictation are griping because they don't like Cbay.  They say it is hard to get the work back and it always needs edited.  The docs are behind on editing because they get caught up doing other things.  I had the staff say they wish the doctors would not have drifted..  makes my head well, but you get what you pay for...

The docs are so busy with their own work (sm)
and keeping up the hectic schedules forced upon them by the suits in management at their establishments (i.e., the "run 'em in, run 'em out" 10-minute patient visit slots) that I'm sure some of them don't even know who the current President is.
If all docs love your work, and only one is - sm
complaining about the bill, I would NOT lower my prices! Chances are he is more of a pain to transcribe than the others, too -- am I right? Stick with what you're doing, don't let them (or him) intimidate you into selling yourself cheaply. You are most likely already worth more than you're charging! Why work harder for less money, especially when you're very familiar wih the docs & their dictation, you do good work, and they AGREE you do good work? Sticking to your guns (AND raising your rates when your cost-of-living and other overhead go up) is one way to weed out the bad apples in the customer-pool. They can be easy replaced; your time, health, and financial security cannot. And finally, you just KNOW that they're raising THEIR prices to their patients every year. Some of that should be trickling down to you, as well. If not, you're being cheated.

As I was saying, I'd be slower on clinic work because docs
Docs doing OP notes have done procedures thousands of times and they fly.
Well, the hospital I work for has over 2000 docs
and they all want verbatim... our docs say we are not allowed to put in the word "the" if they don't say it. I guess since they are paying the bills I'll go with what they say and not AAMT. Yes, I am a professional.
I work for 3 docs and am paid by the line
One doc will do 30 lines in 1 1/2 mins. and another will do 30 lines in 7 mins. Quite frankly I hate working for that particular doc. He ummms and ahhhhs and shuffles papers constantly. I definitely feel cheated when I type his charts.
These docs think a machine can type their work, sm
So why should we bother to clean it up? They want the cheapest transcription possible, they deserve it, and yes, years ago we WERE expected to know everything. Now they think a machine or anyone can transcribe their work. The doctors deserve it.
RE Hate MT work
I know I am finding that I really get kind of depressed working at home.  It is nice, but at the same time the isolation is not good.  Working by the line, everytime I start doing something else like answering the phone or something I feel like -- oh no I have to get back to typing if I want to make any money.  I worked at a hospital for 13 years, 22.00 an hour with full benefits, and 5 weeks vacation a year - Kaiser.  I got burned out and left.  Now, 6 years later, I really really regret it. (They got rid of most of the MTs anyway because of the EMR system)  I regret it though, especially now when jobs (any kind) are hard to find.  Maybe you could take a leave of absence before you quit to just get away from it for awhile.  I wish I had done that - I was burned out also.  I want go back to school and find another occupation.  This is too hard - making money I mean, finding the right place to work.  Good luck to you no matter what you decide.
On-call work is for docs and EMTs. Give it up and save your

Loved the work, hate the conditions
I loved being a transcriptionist. I just hated what the job had become. I really enjoyed for years, but once we switched from being paid hourly to being paid production, it just went downhill. Too many things can interfere with production, as you are finding out. Doesn't matter how fast you type. If the server goes down, the electricity goes out or you're stuck with crappy dictators, your paycheck will suffer.
You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.

All I know is it caused the company I work for to be unable to do all work due today and the rest
:+
i used to work for a company that divided the work types up and i loved it. sm
there were only 4 of us working a major teaching hospital. someone was assigned surgery, different assigned discharges, different admits, etc. we all had the backup work type in case the original assignee wasn't available and were cross trained. it made us much more efficient, ability to get used to dictators, set macros, and in the long run we were all much happier.
The company I work for said cable phone wouldn't work, just FYI.

TO ALL - Please see post on Company board
that was posted by the Administrator regarding mudslinging.  Don't just read it. Live it!
Well, if you want our opinion, you should post the company - sm
so that maybe we could help you. A lot of people do not report anything to the BBB no matter what kind of practices are going on with a particular company. They just do not have the knowledge to go that route. Nor do they have the knowledge on how to go about handling bounced checks, etc. But that's another subject.

A company does not necessarily have to have a website. I personally do not have a website, but I am bombarded with work and phone calls and emails left and right about my transcription service. Personally, I would never put up a website because potential clients do not know who I am, so how would they know to go to MY website. They get my name by word of mouth.

So post the name, and maybe someone here can give you feedback.
post this on the company board here....nm

You should probably post this on the Company Board

Love cardiology, hate podiatry. Hate discharges, but

They have a post on the company board about benefits, etc. sm
I do ortho and love Keystrokes. I know that they are known for radiology, but I have plenty of work, a GREAT manager and a steady paycheck. My sister and daughter also work for Keystrokes and they are clinic and hospital work. They are both happy as well.
I believe a post like this belongs on the Company Board anyway.

Thick, thick, thick.
Excuse me - I meant to post this on the company board.

I hate those but I hate trauma notes on children even more sm
I used to work for a large hospital that saw a lot of children for various horrible things.

The very last one I did was a 12yo boy who had hung himself while his mother was at work. She thought he was in school. The doctor cried, I cried (as I usually did) and I just couldn't handle that anymore. That was the longest report I swear. Short in lines but the length was almost an hour. The doc didn't pause the machine, she cried, horrible gut wrenching sobs, and I did too, right along with her.

Hi, yes I did explain above. Really shocked by that post who thinks I'm a company...ahahah
NO bad intentions whatsoever. Shoot me for copy and pasting....too lazy to reype.

That's just really funny.
Doubt you can charge 15 cpl for VR work to the docs - you can't even charge them 12 for straight

I don't work for MQ but that happened to me once at the company where I work and
my next two paychecks were shorted out of what they had overpaid me for that pay period. I hope they don't take it out of your hide. It was hard to budget for that month!
Company I work for has to pay fines for work out of TAT.

I work as an IC, work when I want, but I still let the company know if I am going to be unavailable
for any length of time, even though I don't have to.
No, we do not set up specific company boards. Posters are allowed to post discussion about MQ here
or on the Company board, just as any other company can.
